Boones Pickins

Boones Pickens is a small little restaurant nestled into a strip mall and Andover. The inside is old Pinewood booth, seatings, and a small bar type seating which the stools are made of tree trunks which is it a nice homie hillbilly feeling the waitress greet you and almost hit your table before You get seated, which is nice in this day and age. I think another reason it's like that is a lot of people eat there a lot and we've only done lunch and they respective people have a short period of time to get their meals and probably 90% of them are return customers The food is extremely good to excellent every time cornbread baked beans potato salad are all homemade the brisket the ribs I'll always perfectly cooked and at the table there's five or six different types of barbecue sauce and condiments. I don't know how their dinner is. We've only done lunches there, but I would guess it would be excellent seating would be the only problem I could see.

When we first walked in, I knew I would love this place! It has a rustic look and feels very homey. The owner is very personable and the food is excellent. My mother and I both were very impressed. They certainly have my business from now on.

Always great food and nice service! We usually get it to take home, but the inside is comfy and clean if you choose to eat in. I always recommend the corn pudding! (A most delicious side treat!)

Honestly my new favorite place in the Wichita area!I came in Saturday night to pick up some dinner, and was created with staff that was so nice! Very welcoming and had a family feel to it.The food was incredible, and there was so much! Plus it was so affordable.The BBQ sauces are to brag about. Every side I really enjoyed. I got the Pulled pork dinner, and I liked it a lot! It wasn't dry at all, and had a lot of flavor. I can easily say that I'll be back MANY more times.

I'll start with the good: the staff was friendly, it's well decorated and the ambiance is decentOnward to the rest. My god, that might have been the worst excuse for brisket I've ever experienced. And by might have been, I mean absolutely was. We were told it just came out of the smoker. No chance of there being a smoker in a strip mall. That shoe leather had been boiled in salt water, shame, and despair. Could barely be cut with a knife and had flavor that was worse than anything I had the misfortune of consuming in the military. Even doused in BBQ sauce that stuff was inedible. This Texan has never left brisket on a platter before, until today. Sides were ok-ish. Avoid this place at all costs.

Came in for some Saturday lunch and was greeted by Boone the owner. We sat down and ordered the two meat plate with ribs and brisket. It comes w lots of sides choices so we had the coleslaw and bbq beans. We also had a taste of the corn pudding. One word for all....? DELICIOUS!!! The meat was perfectly seasoned and just right portions. The cole slaw was freshly cut and perfectly dressed. The bbq beans seasoned just right not too spicy or mild. Finally the corn pudding was like a veggie dessert. Sweet and tasty. Fantastic service conversation and food. What more can you ask for ??? We will be back on our next trip through town!!!!

My son and I stopped in here to get some lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The owner was there he was very welcoming and offered suggestions when asked for them . We both had the pork sandwich . The mild BBQ sauce was phenomenal. Portions large and filling . Would definitely eat here again

Owner has very bad attitude. Not friendly at all. Will not come back. Order something from the menu which they didn't have flat out just said we don't have that and didn't give a recommendation

The food was very filling, great portions. Also, the service was amazing and very homey ambiance.

This has to be one of the best places to eat in the Wichita area. The staff are personal to every customer. The food is AMAZING everytime we come.
