Big B's Beef Truck

NOT Chicago-style deep dish. Unfortunately, our 1st visit didn't meet the level of good. After one piece (not slice since pie wasn't even cut) I couldn't eat anymore.Needs a lot of work on:1) Crust - Should be sturdy, buttery & DEEP.2) Expediting Orders - I waited 1 hour even though I pre-ordered & was given a pick up time. 3) Service - Its a PROBLEM when you literally have to apologize to every single customer all night!!! I have been waiting impatiently for this truck to arrive since the closure of their brick and mortar establishment a few years ago. Big B's Beef fills a cultural and culinary void in the local market that no one has the skill or heart to fill: The Italian Beef sandwich. My 13 year old daughter (an Italian beef newbie) and I showed up shortly after open and placed an order for an Italian beef, an Italian beef combo (the beef with Italian sausage), two orders of fries and a pizza puff to split. We waited in our car and a short time later, the food was delivered to my driver's side window. The cheerful attendant also brought catsup and red sauce upon request. Due to the heat outside, we elected to eat in the comfortable air conditioning of the car. We quickly opened our bag of food and dug in.My daughter's first bite brought an immediate smile to her face. The beef and melty cheddar combined with the mild peppers and soft bread that would render her silent for the balance of her meal. My first bite transported me back to the South Seneca and Douglas locations while simultaneously reminding me of epic sandwiches consumed in Chi-Town. In a word - perfection!So why the 4 star rating? The pizza puff. My daughter and I split one which was a good choice after consuming the massive sandwiches. The flaky dough gives way to a feeling that comes in somewhere between a Hot Pocket and a pizza roll. No bad, but not a favorite. Next time, I'll pass.And believe me, there will indeed be a next tome!

Great Italian beef sandwich, reminded me of Chicago. Looking forward to trying some more of their menu items which include pizza puffs, lamb spit gyros, Chicago hot dogs. Great, friendly staff. Nothing like this is Wichita that I have found. Give them a try

Man do I love Italian Beef sandwiches and Big B'a delivers! I will drive up to 45 minutes to get one of their beefs. Yes I have lived in Chicago and visited many beef places there...Johnnies is my fav, hot wet, large lemon. Big B's rivals Chicago! Only problem I have is I want to order more things off their menu but can't get past the beef! So how I order is via text and my food is ready when I arrive at the truck. I order the gravy on the side so i can dip or pour it on when I get home. With extra hot peppers of course. One of these days I'll get around to ordering sweet and hot. This family knows their stuff...it's really that good!

No dinner plans tonight, so I drove all the way across town to FINALLY eat here. Got the BOB combo (Italian beef, dog, fries). For $11-ish, it was a STEAL. As good as anything I've ever had in Chicago, I might not wash my hands for a few days just so I can keep the smell. The dog was perfect, fries perfect, and the dipped beef with hot peppers was heaven, the roll... . I'm actually curious where they got the ingredients for this meal... honestly have never had a meal like this in KS.

Best beef to be had this side of the Mississippi! Not sure how you do it, but great Chicago style beef and dogs

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was quite good. Im always skeptical of Chicago style food not in Chicago but this food is quite good for being hundreds of miles from the city. Ill admit I was a little apprehensive about the prices but its well worth it. We're actually here visiting and searched the area for any Chicago style food. We also appreciate the ability to text your order.
