I was in search of a body shop due to hail damage and read the reviews of this place and they were amazing. They provided great customer service in terms of communication but are adamant about not working with insurance. If you like playing middle man between a body shop and your insurance company then this is the place for you. After my insurance company did their estimate on my car the body shop did their own estimate and despite my insurance plan to replace many parts, body shop decided to move forward with PDR. The PDR person was unavailable for 3 weeks so my car was in the shop for several weeks which was not anticipated. After a battle with insurance and supplements not being submitted I was finally able to pick up my car and had to pay a $540 storage fee. The customer service personnel in the office gave my husband and me conflicting information which resulted in a lot of frustration about this fee which I did end up paying as well as the supplement and my deductible ($1200.00+)I expected a wow factor when picking up my car but was less than satisfied when I saw multiple paint chips and several scratches on my car. I was rudely reminded that the P in PDR stood for "paintless." The foreman and another worker did speak to me and buffed out the scratches on site so that part was very nice of them. All in all I would say be very careful with your words and communication with this shop. I would be more satisfied had my parts been replaced instead of PDR however they did make up for it by buffing the scratches as originally promised. My car looks great but not worth the 2.5 hour drive and many days of miscommunication. If you are local to Wichita then they are good, other wise it will be a hassle working with them and your insurance from a distance.

Horrible service. If you question their process of tearing you vehicle apart before you get an estimate. They treat you like an idiot. Talked to several people who also had this happen. The owner must not like conflict. As he has his manager treat you like an idiot. When I asked for a written estimate., the verbal estimate that I was given. Went from $1800 to $5500 and was still verbal estimate. Would no go there again!!!

Clay and his team are great...had some minor damage to my fairly new Tesla...I was looking for a high-quality, locally-owned body shop...stopped by for estimate...Clay explained the process, gave me a tour of the shop and gave me a seat of the pants estimate of $1000 to $1200...said it would take a week....took it in on a Tuesday, done on Friday and it was flawless...and this was something that had to be repaired completely by hand.Recommend Best Body Shop without reservation...oh, and by the way he was right on with his estimate...

I had hit a deer with my Tahoe and was recommended to Best Body Shop by Blaine at Newberry's where I bought my Tahoe. I had only had it for 2 months. Clay and his staff, I mean every last person, are amazing. Clay worked with me and helped me navigate my insurance, who was NOT cooperating with the repair process and wanted to total my vehicle. The repair bill he submitted to me and the insurance company was thorough, comprehensive and took into consideration value and safety. Through Clay and his staff's knowledge and guidance, I was able to convince the insurance to pay for repairs. He didn't go one penny over the bill he submitted. In fact, it was a couple hundred less than expected. The quality of work is top notch. We were even given a tour before they took my Tahoe in the shop. I love the openness of communication and the honesty he presents with his business up front. The update calls on the work being done were very helpful and if you had a question, you got it answered promptly. The work done to my Tahoe was amazing. It had considerable damage, not just a bumper and a headlight, this was extensive damage down the side of the vehicle. The paint was on point and the interior was free of stains and air bag dust. It was aligned, calibrated, everything was set back to original including the clock! It's like the damage never happened. Their Quality assurance is phenomenal. They go over their work with a fine toothed comb and don't bat an eye to go and redo something. They worked as fast as they could and didn't skimp on quality in the least bit. And the work is warrantied! I have never had that advertised to me before!I appreciate the fact that he has a small town atmosphere in a big city business. This is an honest, work for you and get it done establishment and Wichita should be so lucky to have a reputable business like this. I won't take my business anywhere else. I HIGHLY recommend Clay and his staff at Best Body shop. I can't thank them all enough for helping me get everything fixed and back to working order. Y'all are the BEST!!!

A couple of years ago I brought my Lincoln to BBS for repair of some minor damage. I was so impressed with, not only the quality of the work, but also the work ethic, the customer focus and the down to earth honesty of Clay and Barbara, who run the operation, that I soon brought them my Porsche for a makeover, as well. The results were amazing!More recently, as a Christmas present to my wife, I asked them to work their magic on my wife's dinged up Mercedes. They made it new again!Soon I will bring them my older Jeep SUV for a partial restoration. I love Best Body Shop.

At the first appointment, Josh went over the process as they don't do paper quotes but repair plans which include breaking down the car to pinpoint damage, and how to write the emails to insurance as I made it CRYSTAL clear I needed the repairs covered by insurance. At the beginning of March, We dropped off our car and waited for work to start. On March 9th, the repair plan was sent to us/the adjuster for $6,666.32 and customer responsibility is a $500 deductible but only if insurance agreed to pay the entire $6,000. That same morning, I emailed and called them clarifying the repair plan and the fact I could only pay the deductible, following Josh's instructions I emailed the body shop/adjuster to continue with the repair plan and then sent a second email bringing attention to the adjuster about payment and the repair plan *This is when the whole thing started to go to hell in a handbasket, Once I sent the email saying to continue the repair plan I was screwed either way because they tied me to the $6,000 even if the intent the WHOLE time was to work with insurance. On March 11th the adjuster let us know they will only cover certain things and those things should only be repaired, I immediately forwarded the email and spoke to Josh, he ensured me again that this is the game insurance plays and what email to write next to get him to pay the bill. Insurance stuck with their quote and why, but Josh said to stay on them and email insurance daily so I did.On March 14th, They left a voicemail that they ordered the parts and will start "rocking and rolling"On March 16th, The adjuster sent his final payment for just over $3,000 because the other items listed in the repair plan were either not necessary or overpriced. I called best body shop to speak to Josh (but he was busy) so I spoke to clay about insurance not wanting to pay the other $3,000 Clay made it clear that it was too late my vehicle was close to being painted. It was clear that I was confused about this whole thing because WE were supposed to be working WITH insurance and I had made sure they knew that insurance would only pay for certain things BEFORE they started repairs. When I told Clay I didn't just have $3,000 laying around his "We always have your back" attitude changed and he made the comment "Are you telling me you won't be able to pay for the repairs we made on your vehicle" I MADE IT CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING that we needed to work WITH the insurance because I could only pay so much and they were aware that insurance wouldn't pay for certain things and they still did them. He then said he couldn't counsel me on these issues with insurance and that is something an attorney is for... What? He couldn't but Josh could tell me what to write to insurance word for word? That makes sense.. not.I ended up having both my Brothers and Aunt talk to Clay and he agreed to email insurance on our behalf but Insurance will not cover the items that they stated previously that they went ahead and repaired. They knew I needed repairs insurance would cover and yet I was stuck with a large bill of things that weren't covered because the body shop continued to do work knowing insurance wasn't going to cover those things. So yes, My vehicle does look better but for $3,000 and the stress, I would have never started the estimate. The number of great reviews is shocking! They cast all the blame on insurance companies saying "we got your back", "we're in your corner", etc but not for long. If they truly had our back they would have communicated better and would have worked with the insurance as asked instead of having me string them along with emails while they continued to repair the vehicle past what insurance wanted. The insurance commission launched a investigation that resulted in the determination that the insurance was NOT at fault and it was the overpricing of Best Body Shop.We also gave a complaint to BBB and it was closed after Best Body Shop wouldn't respond to them after their first response. Why should they be allowed to continue to do this? Why should there be no consequences for tricking us into signing a contract and leaving us with over $2000 in charges when it wasn't agreed?
