Barleycorn's is a hidden gem that gets great local, regional and sometimes a national act. It's a small venue, limited seating. The best way to get here is to park somewhere else and use the FREE Q-line that drops you off near the front door. Free parking, free transport, $10 ticket, awesome music, quaint venue with near perfect sound! It may be hard to get a drink at the bar because of the crowd...but there are awesome people at the show, too!

In all the years I have gone out I'm surprised none of my friends had ever told me to come here. I finally discovered this gem from a friend who lived super close to it. In the time I have been here I have returned multiple times to enjoy what they have to offer. Wednesday night is jeopardy night! Play games with friends and if you win.... there a prize for you and your group! Come on the weekend and from time to time they have some great live bands playing. If there isn't a band they play a great variety of music that u can dance to. If you do come on jeopardy night and come hungry they also do have food options to choose from, like a personal size pizza, mmmmm.... there is parking in the back always in case you don't find street parking. I'm sure once you check this place out you will likely return again like I have.

Look, if you're into music of any variety, you need to keep this venue in your sites. The sound is fantastic and they book equally fantastic acts. The staff is always expedient and bad ass. Give them your love.

I can't really say too much about the place. The environment seems very welcoming. I came to Lyrics and Laughs. Multicultural crowd. I like it so far.

Quickly becoming one of the best live music venues in town. Barleycorn's has been bringing in bigger and bigger shows all the time, but still has a nice balance of local and regional acts as well. Plenty going on at Barleycorn's.Full bar with draft beer and bottles. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. On Wednesday's they have a live, hosted, bar trivia during happy hour that is free to play and has a $25 cash prize for the winning team. It's fun to meet a couple friends after work and play and have a few drinks. Many nights there are both earlier and later shows, so it's not as much of a hangout bar as it is a venue, but it's still possible to pop in for a quick beer or two from time to time.Recently renovated and improved it is quite a bit nicer than the Barleycorn's of old. Great lighting and plenty of personality. There is a back patio if you want to step out and have a smoke, but it's not quite as much of a hangout as other area bar's patios.Overall, if you're looking for a place to take in some tunes and have a few drinks most nights of the week, Barleycorn's is your place. Not my first choice if you're looking for a quite place to have some nice quiet conversation. Parking can sometimes be a little tough if there is something going on at the Intrust Bank Arena which is just down the street. For live music in Wichita, this should be one of your go to spots!

The good: They host lots of live music and comedy events, which the city really lacks. Drinks are relatively cheap compared to some of the other bars downtown. The bad: It's a really small bar/venue. You could probably only fit 200 people in here at max. There's not much for seating, only a few tables. If you're going downtown for a drink, I think there are plenty of other better options.

Since the remodel this has been my favorite place to go on a weekend. The rustic interior gives it a really unique charm that really helps you escape from your daily routine and that's something bars and clubs don't do a lot around here or even fail at. It's a great place to see live music, comedy or even burlesque or sideshow. Also the recent addition of Karaoke on Tuesday nights makes it one of the best Karaoke spots in town, with an actual stage no less!. The drink selection is good and the bar staff is always courteous. Before Barleycorns, I hesitated to pay to see live music, I'd want to make sure I'd be getting my $5 dollars worth but the quality of the acts and the venue have been so great at Barleycorn's I wont even shrug a $10 cover. It's totally worth checking out if you have the time but be aware the size of the crowd and the clientele can change depending on what's happening at Intrust Arena that night.

Best bar in Wichita!!! Fast, friendly bar staff and reasonably priced drinks. The bar is hip and stylish and has a fun atmosphere that's enjoyable to be in. The bar recently changed ownership and went through a significant and much needed remodel. The owners and employees are deeply involved in and passionate about the Wichita music scene so there are great live bands performing more often than not. There's also a pool table and cool, retro pinball machines for entertainment. The bathrooms are clean and there's a spacious smoking patio out back. Street parking in front of the bar is limited but there are parking spots around the corner and an entire parking lot behind the building.

I agree with the review about regulars literately pushing newbies out. My husband and I went there to see Carrie Nation, we got there early to get a good seat. We found a bench (we did not take much room). When the band started a man stood up on the bench right behind us while we were sitting down, we were in shock, we had to leave our spot, he was there with a woman, as soon as we moved they sat in our spot. My husband has a temper and in the old days would have confronted him, instead we just left and will never go back.

Not gonna lie the bartender has no taste buds, she did give great service though. Her partner and the sound guy did great as well. I don't go in here a lot but every time I do it's dope. I'll definitely be coming back. Positivity and such they earned the 5 stars.
