Bann Thai

Interesting place. Dishes are good. Having been overseas and obviously tasted local cuisine Bann Thai nailed it. Yes it's a preferred taste but worth a try. Be careful on the spice level suggested to start low and work your way up.

Small place in a plaza, however these so often are the best. The decor is typical but the food is fresh cooked to order and very good, decent sized portions and a nice variety of ingredients. Very warm and inviting owner. The service was quick, greetings as soon as I entered, sit wherever you want when you enter. Nice soup comes before the meal and the Thai tea is great. I would recommend coming here! Small menu that is done right, just like the better chefs say- keep it simple and do great cooking. Take out is available!

I love her mild-medium yellow curry!It's pretty hot but i LOVE IT! The owner will warn you if you try to order something overly hot.

Everything the Tom Kike soup was terrible. The pad Thai was terrible. It just was not real Thai food.

This is a one woman show, she takes the orders, waits on tables, and makes the food. Be advised, her spice level is different than other Thai places in town. I will visit this place every time I come to Wichita!

Her food is great! She does it all alone. The location is certainly not ideal unless you live in the NW Wichita area.

It's closed and I can't believe it!!!! This was the best Thai food in the country!!! So sad!

Always an experience! Super food. Authentic and plenty of it! Plus, no better service than here! Nice small town food and atmosphere!

Bann Thai has moved from their location on 13th and West street to Maize road almost to 53rd. Still the same great thai food and new restaurant is nice. As always can be very spicy so knock you spice level down a notch.

MAY BE THE ABSOLUTE WORST RUN RESTAURANT IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY !! No Kidding! WOW, this place is bad! The food is great, *but not any better than you can find three blocks away or a dozen other places in Wichita. HOWEVER, the owner/cook is a truly HORRID person - angry, very rude, unprofessional, unpleasant, pushy, loud Thai lady that needs to do the cooking and have other staff wait tables - but she's the only one there. They run out of rice before the lunch hour, then she stands table side waving here hand-held credit card machine at you while asking you to pay the check while you are eating. The only thing to drink is room temperature water without ice. When I asked if they had iced tea or soft drinks she (you won't believe this but its true) told me to walk over to QuickTrip, a few doors down, to buy the drinks. At first I thought she was putting me on and I laughed, but it turns out she was dead serious. The writers at SNL couldn't make a skit any sillier. She is being evicted from her 13th street location, even though the food is good and there are plenty of customers. If she can't pay the rent here where it's dirt cheap, then I wish her good luck at the next place. Someone should partner up with her, (really!) and allow her to do all the cooking, but have others do everything else - and I'll bet it would be a big success for all.
