Average Joes' Bar and Grill

We stopped for lunch on a cross country trip. It did not look like much from the main road but the parking lot just past the building has the main storefront. Great food! Friendly staff. Very quaint inside. We would totally eat here again.

This was my first time in Hill City Ks and i decided to give this place a try. The grilled chicken sandwich add cheese add bacon was delicious! The curly fries were good too! This place is pretty big inside and also very clean. I went during lunch hour (12pm) and they seemed to be short handed but the waitress and cook did an awesome job! Can't wait to go back and try a different plate!

Best chicken fried chicken with white gravy. Hamburgers were very good also. Had the fried pickles and fried mushrooms that were good also.

I enjoyed what I had; fried mushrooms with bleu cheese, a bacon cheddar cheeseburger and cole slaw. Everything was delicious and didn't take too long considering the size of the group I was with. When I get back to Hill City, I will make sure to return and try a few other selections from the menu.

The food was good.. as always. However, the owner/cook is very rude to her workers and that is a turn off for me. The staff is always working their tail off and tending to their customers well. We were in there one night and she was yelling at her workers through the window for all of the restaurant to hear while they were all busy assisting customers. I think that is very unprofessional and I felt bad for the waitresses and staff.

Good local restaurant for down home cooking. Food selections and quality, service, prices, atmosphere were all A1. Will go there again when in Hill city!
