Amanda's Bakery & Bistro

We stopped here for a coffee break on our across the country road trip. Extremely friendly place and a representation of what America should always be. A locally owned place. Coffee was great. Decor was very homely and a representation of the town that has the Eisenhower library and museum and the world's largest belt buckle.

When traveling we like to stop at local eateries. Amanda's does not disappoint. It's in the downtown in a quaint older building with high tin ceilings. The food is honest and good. I had the bierock and onion soup. The meat filling and dough were in perfect proportion. The filling uses a generous amount of caraway seed. Make sure you like that flavor which I do. Hubs had the roast beef panini and chips. He said the beef was a high quality. Service was friendly. We will return next time in town!

Visiting Abilene and had to try local restaurants. This was a good pick. Loved the quaintness of the place; good food, fast and great customer service. Ordered Beef Pastrami with Cream of chicken rice soup and Chicken wrap with onion soup. Wonderful!

I think I'm definitely going to be going here more often. I had the bierock & the French onion soup. Both were soooo good. I loved the soup. I'm for sure going back for that. I have been there twice & both times were wonderful. I didn't have time to take a picture it was so delicious.

The ordering was easy, the meal which I ordered Greek wrap and a cup of chicken and wild rice soup was amazing. Very low key and staff were friendly and accommodating. No wonder they are busy! I will definitely be back!

Great coffee and great service! We enjoyed stopping here on our visit to the Eisenhower presidential library. Chocolate chip scone is dangerous!

Food is wonderful homemade and always great deserts to try. Servers are always helpful and informative of what specials they have. It's small inside but I never had issues finding a place to sit when I stay and order.

Excellent food. Everything is fresh. Soups are homemade. Coffee is delicious. This is a gem of a family restaurant in the heart of Abilene Kansas

The service was kind, quick, and professional. The food was delicious, i highly recommend the hearty vegetarian, and the creamy chicken soup is to die for! the inside was SO adorable, it reminded me of going to families house.
