I have gotten a lot of flack for loving Aldi as much as I do, especially among the Whole Paycheck Horde, so let me just say first: hatin's bad, and Aldi's awesome. Deal with it.This is a grocery store first and foremost, but you never know what kind of fantastic treasures you'll run across here. Electric juicer for $35? Check! Mini food processor for $8? Check! Digital cameras, DVD players, electric fireplaces, kettlebell sets, JOGGING TRAMPOLINES? Check, check, check, check, CHECK! I've purchased all sorts of wonderful crap here, including a German-made digital camera that cost 70% as much as my Powershot but functioned longer, and took really nice pictures to boot. There's some misconception that Aldi = poor quality, but I haven't found that to be the case with either their edible or non-edible products. Most people don't realize that Aldi is one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) grocery chains in Europe, and that it was founded by the pair of brothers who also founded Trader Joe's. And no, today's Aldi is no Trader Joe's, but it's a far cry from the Aldis of the past, which consisted mostly of large bags of rice and canned food. This particular Aldi is directly across from my mother's house and I visit EVERY time I'm in town to stock up on things like delicious chocolates and cookies, gourmet spice grinders, olive oil, and all sorts of weird European crap like Toffiffee, spekulatius, and pfeffernusse. All at AMAZING prices. This Aldi has a pretty big frozen convenience food section, fresh meat that is reasonably good, a small but fairly comprehensive produce section, all of your refrigerated "staples" like milk, OJ, lunchmeat, and butter, and perhaps best of all - CHEESE! Cheese out the wazoo at incredible prices. Big tubs of romano, asiago, and parmesan for $1.99. IN YOUR FACE CENTRAL MARKET! Brie rounds! Chevre! Sharp cheddar! I save a ridiculous amount of money over the holidays when I'm cooking with tons of cheese. There aren't too many things I miss about living in Wichita, but Aldi is certainly one of them. Fingers crossed that Austin sees both an Aldi and a Trader Joe's in 2012!!!

Lots of people don't understand why I shop here. Honestly, it helps save money and they typically have great deals even when items are not on sale. I commonly buy tomatoes, avocadoes, potatoes, onions, garbanzo beans, and their sugar free organic pasta. Sugar free pasta at the organic store usually costs $5 or more for a jar. Come to Aldi's and get it for $1.20 a jar, that's a steal!!! The store has expanded their selection of organic goods and the prices are really good. They also have an organic produce section, but I typically skip over that. You can save a bundle of money shopping for the right things here. Just make sure you take a quarter with you when you shop if you want to use a cart. Don't worry, return the card and you get your money back. They keep their cost down by not having cart pushers or an in store phone. They just started to accept major credit cards, which made my day!!!

Nice new store! However, the attitudes of the employees still leaves a lot to be desired. When asked questions they seem to have a chip on their shoulders and at times are rude. To much bother to be courteous. I love Aldi's and the selection and prices are great which is what keeps me coming back. Thanks for updating the store.

Aldis has quickly become my staple, go-to grocery store. Don't be afraid of the brand's that Aldis carries..I have found them to be generally very high quality and a terrific value. Selection is more limited than a supermarket, but you'll find most of the items you'll want. Produce particularly is low prices and great quality. The only downside is there are often times in this store when there are not nearly enough checker lanes open for the demand.

I used to go to the Walmart Supercenter and Sam's Club for everything, but after actually taking note of the prices, Aldi's almost always cheaper...and the quality is actually quite good. (Chicken leg quarters in bulk I still buy at Walmart, b/c the ones at Aldi lately seem to be smaller in size and with more frozen water). One con is that they usually only have one cashier working at a time, but these staff tend to be super fast at checking you out, so it's not too much of a big deal.

I love Aldis... I love the products they carry the variety carry , the price point... who doesn't love the speed of the check out... But the friendliness of the majority of the employees is why they only get three stars, including the manager. It doesn't take any time to smile... I was in the other day to stockers were working in the aisle I was in they had a forklift positioned so that you couldn't get on either side of it and it was at the end of the aisle. It was on the opposite side that they were working on and if it would've just been 4 inches over, I could've gone through the aisle instead I had to turn around and walk all the way to the other end and go up the other aisle. I didn't say to one of the guys, it sure would be great if this was moved over just a few inches so I could go through here... His response was sometimes what works best for you doesn't work for us...wow

As a college student trying to stretch the dollar, Aldi is a life saver. Fantastic variety of products at dependable quality. Also, a huge fan of the weekly deals that come out on Wednesdays.

I love to shop here when I am in KS. I wish we had these in CA. and yes we have Trader Joes and I would rather have an Aldi. I go out of my way to shop here. Driving past lots of other stores. If you do not shop here you are missing out on spending your savings some where else or maybe even putting it the bank.
