While I appreciate and respect the work these physicians do I do not feel as though they respect the time of their patients and their patients caregivers . It is typical to wait for over an hour after your appointment time to even be escorted back into a room at which point you wait some more . They ask that you check in 30 minutes early yet you wait literally over an hour past your appointment time to be seen . This is a problem that needs to be fixed . If they cannot keep to their schedule they should implement some sort of call ahead check in so that people don't have to waste an hour of their precious time.

I was impressed with how much the staff loves what the do and how well they work as a team.The Gwyn Team took time with me to make sure they had all of my information and I am sure that they were late to help others because of me. I was provided literature in paper with an option that I might consider. I was provide many options and Dr. Gwyn was patient and he was not upset that I am a summer person and do not want to be down during my favorite season. His PA (sorry I am unable to remember his name or title) gave me shots and was gentle and kind because I am afraid of shots. I had a better experience than expected for what I needed done. The Gwyn Team cares about the patients they help. I am including the group at the checkin counter - sometimes I think patients forget that they (front desk) are dealing with many people and once and a majority in serious pain. What a great first impression and it helped me decompress and not as nervous. SORRY FOR BOOK BUT IT WAS A TEAM THAT TREATED & HELPED ME.

Dr. Shepherd preformed a total knee replacement for me on 1/27. I recovered so well that on 3/14 I went to Jamaica for seven nights. I was scheduled for the second total knee replacement on 3/23, unfortunately, the Covid-19 really ramped up while I was gone. While out of the country, the patient portal made it very easy to communicate with Dr. Shepard and staff (Whitney) on the status of my next surgery. Unfortunately, our state was put on lock down and all elective surgeries were put on hold. As of 4/28, we are still locked down, however, I have communicated both by phone and by portal during this lock down. Great patient care! Thank you for being there for me. The surgery and recovery proceeded just as I was told by Dr. Shepherd (no surprises!) I am anxiously awaiting the next total knee replacement (short term pain followed by long term relief)!Shawn

I really like the doctor I saw BUT....upon checking in, I presented my BlueCross insurance ID card which clearly shows that office visits have a $25.00 co-pay. I was very surprised when the receptionist said "It will be $175.00 today". I said my office visit co-pay is $25.00. She said that since my deductable was $1,000, I had to pay $175.00. i even ask the doctor. He checked with a lady there who only said "that was their policy". I have never had this happen before. Has anyone else?

My sister is a patient here. She had an external fixator put on her leg following a horrible car accident. She is constantly in pain following this procedure here, which is normal. However, she has to call once a week to refill her prescription. The following is our experience with Advanced Orthopaedic Associates.My sister called this facility numerous times today and left 3 messages starting at 8am when they opened. She gave them a few hours figuring they were busy and called back again at noon when no one got back to her. Every time she called, she was either told that they would get back to her before the end of the day, was sent to voicemail, or was hung up on. The last time she called at about 3pm, and they said they would make sure to get someone on the phone for her and she was sent straight to voice mail. That is absolutely ridiculous for something so urgent.Since what she is taking is a high dose of pain meds, they will only prescribe 1 week at a time. They told her to take 1-2 pills every 6 hours which meant that she had enough for 3 days if she needed to take 2 per dose. The nurse never got back to her and now she has to wait until tomorrow with no meds and in immense pain. At first this facility did a fantastic job getting back to her. However, these last 2 weeks she has called for a prescription refill and this has happened. This is not an issue with the doctors themselves but more so with the nursing staff and receptionists. Sadly, neither my mom, nor I live in the same state as her so neither of us can help her by going to this facility and formally complaining in person. My mom will be finding a way to take this to the state if this issue is not resolved within a timely manor. We understand being short a nurse or receptionist and taking a while to get back to patients but this is beyond okay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY.

I've been extremely impressed with results from my surgery by Dr. Bradley Dart. He clearly recognizes that he is only as successful as his staff who represent him. Everyone from the receptionist to the nurses, Laurie and Jolene and the Nurse Practitioner, Kasey. They are professional and very attentive, always responding fast when sending in the massive amounts of paperwork required by the Insurance companies.
