I have had one of the worst experiences ever with advance audio. I specifically asked them not to go below the legal line.

Update: just called back and spoke with someone who wouldn't even identify himself. Said he was going to fire the guy that helped me. He was the most unprofessional person I have ever talked with on the phone. I don't know if the owner reads these or not, but he NEEDS TO FIRE THE PERSON CLAIMING TO BE IN CHARGE. I am changing my rating to a 3 star and will change it back to a 5 star once that person is gone. I still recommend going here over anywhere else just make sure that you speak with the owner when you go in.After speaking with the owner and one of the employees on more than one occasion I know that of all the places to shop for home or car audio, this is the only place in Wichita that I trust. They are more than knowledgeable and will sell you exactly what you need to get the job done. I called several other places in town asking about what speakers I should get for my truck. Let's just say that the answers I got ranged from bad to worse. When I called Advance, the guy that answered asked me a bunch of questions about my vehicle and my budget then made a recommendation. And here is the best part, Advance audio isn't some out of state no name company, the owner lives right here in Wichita and is so friendly that he even put up with my kids while I was looking for some speakers for my wife's car. Thank you Advance and I will be back in every time I need anything car or home audio related!Oh and so you trolls out there know, I was not asked nor was I compensated in any way for this review. I have no ties to this company in any way. I just know quality when I see it as I am a sales manager myself and this company is as straight forward as they come!

I went in today and Mike showed me all of their home audio equipment. He also gave me recommendations and was over all very accommodating. They have a lot of great high end home audio products and excellent pricing.

Run.... Stay away from this place. The owner Mike & store manager Mark are crooks and will rip you off. After I paid for new equipment they installed used equipment in my vehicle. Thanks to the court system all was remedied.

On 11/17/2011 at about 10:05, I brought my tan 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to your shop for the first time on the recommendation of a friend. He said you guys really know your stuff and do a great job. I had unsuccessfully tried to install a stereo in my Jeep. The problem was that I was using a standard wiring harness, but needed a special one with a power converter for my vehicle. Luckily you had that in stock. I asked if you could install it for me as well, and for a fee, you were able to do that. It cost me about $200 (more than I paid for the stereo) when the dust settled for the part and the install, but I was leaving on a trip for a week on Friday, so I figured "money well spent"My install was done quickly and in about 30 minutes my Jeep was ready and I took it to work. As I played with the controls, I noticed that when I fade to back I lost all sound. When I got to work (at about 11:00) I called Advanced Audio to discuss this. I was told that with a stereo swap like this, everything is run off of the front channel. This did not sound right and I questioned it. It was explained to me that this functionality requires a different wiring configuration. I replied that I paid for an install and I expected everything to work. I can match colors and twist wires together, but ensuring that everything functioned properly was what I paid you guys to do.I was asked to bring it back in. The way the guy spoke to me, I got the impression that it was a huge imposition to correct this error. I explained that I was at work now, and leaving for vacation tomorrow. Part of the reason I had you do the install was due to the lack of time for me to get it done. He agreed to pick it up for me (I work close to Harry and Rock). He took my name and number and said he would call me when it was done. I left my key with security in my building for them to pick it up.I never received a call, so at about 16:50 I called the shop to check on it. I was asked to call back at 17:20. I called back and was told they would be dropping it off soon. I never got a call that they dropped it off. I went out to check on it at about 19:30 and security said that they had been by and that we needed to have a discussion. They proceeded to tell me that the person who came by was very rude (drove a white SUV), and parked in the fire lane. His music was so loud that it shook both the outer windows and the ones on the inside wall of the lobby. She asked him to turn down the music and move the vehicle out of the fire-lane (per city code and company policy, and the no stopping/parking signs, and the red painted curb). Security told me that the person who dropped off the key said "I am here to drop off a key for Brandon Trube, and you can not tell me what to do with your fake badge." He then left, turned up the radio and pealed out of the parking lot. Security was ready to call Wichita PD. This looks bad on me as a member of management when someone acts this way as my guest in my place of employment.

sold me the wrong amp to my subwoofer setup after I inquired numerous times asking if it was the right amp and repeatedly being told yes. showed the specs for the subs and everything and the older foreign guy who works there (owner I think) shoved the wrong amp in my face and "guaranteed" it would be the right one, at check out I asked if I could return it if it was the wrong one just in case and he told me no. sure enough I got home and the amp was way underpowered and too small for my subs. waste of $250.

Worked with Mike (owner) on a home theater purchase. He gave me a great deal, and I have yet to install it as I've had other issues to deal with.Mike was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If 6 stars were an option, they/Mike would get them.

I brought my car in to get a speaker sub and amp installed. It was supposed to take two hours. When I came back to pick it up, they hadn't done a damn thing to it. In fact the manager couldn't even recall which vehicle I was talking about even though it was in his calendar. His employee was rude. The guy really needs to find a new job. I'll never take another vehicle there again.

Upon seeing this review online they decided to have an employee named zach call me 5 times in 5 min to tell me that he "thought i should have had balls enough to come tell them in person" i then let him know that i didnt care what his opinion is and that he could go ahead and suck my balls. He then said " well we will see how you like the work we do on your car now" i then informed them that i would not be allowing them to touch my car, Is this an acceptable way to run a company or act as an employee? Now i have to pay twice as much to have the tint removed and redone but it is much better then allowing them to touch my car again. I also filed a complaint with the BBB so we will see how long it takes for me to get another threatening phone call.
