Everything was awesome from friendly staff to absolutely immaculate camping area. The Cove Restaurant/Bar was top notch. Waiting staff was amazing, beer was cold and views from inside were cool.

Kind of a long review, but for simplicity sake the top take aways:Cabin 10- 10/ 10 Awesome!Staff- 12/10 Leslie and her team were so accommodating and awesomeExperience 10/10What an absolute awesome hidden gem!!! My buddies and I booked cabin 10 for a guys weekend, and took off from KC on a Friday. We spent the afternoon playing a round of golf over at Rolling Meadows (highly recommend a nice little country golf course). Then popped back over to the resort for a dinner down at the restaurant. We lucked out, as they had a live band playing that were surprisingly amazing, and accompanied our dinner perfectly. The gang was split across burgers, chicken sandwiches and whatnot. Nobody complained and I don't recall any left overs remaining!Friday night saw us sitting by a big fire outside the cabin, and watching some of the planes flying around from Fort Riley for the evening. Saturday was a bit of an early morning, as we went over to Acorn's Wild for an awesome pheasant hunt! We had four dogs, an amazing guide in Paul, and were off for hiking the fields for a half day. It was simply the best hunt any of us have ever gone on, and literally all of us have been talking about how fast we can get back out there again. They followed it up with a heck of a lunch spread (seriously, I gotta find those homemade cinnamon rolls), then we sadly packed it up and went back to KC for family obligations. Already day dreaming about our next escapee over. All of this and it's only 2.5 hours away from KC!

This is not even a one star resort! So gross!! Giant hair ball in one bed, hairs and crumbs in another, extremely disgusting place!!! Kitchen table was covered in dried slop! Good thing I brought my own disinfecting wipes! We slept in full clothing! Bedspreads were so old and nasty!! Floor though out the house would blacken feet or socks in seconds!! Back patio was full of spider webs and birds nests/poop above the main door!!! We checked out early and saved ourselves!!!

I have stayed here twice. One time in a 1 bedroom cabin and then this last time in October in Cabin 8 that fits a large group. Cabin is up to date, lovely, spacious, and as always Acorns staff is great! It's great it had two "living rooms" each with couches and tv's. I will be back to stay and visit again. Milford Lake is a very nice lake too. The cabins are set back into trees so that was nice for privacy.Only thing about Cabin 8: 2.5 baths but the half bath is upstairs. It would have been more convenient to have a bathroom with shower up there. Next time I'll bring my own skillet and a pitcher. Otherwise main dishes were supplied that I enjoyed using. Wi-Fi isn't the best, it was okay when only 2 people were using it but when you get a few it's really slow or doesn't work at all. Acorns does have a restaurant now, The Cove. We ate there on a Friday night. The waiter was very nice but the food wasn't prepared as ordered and it took a lot longer than needed to.Hopefully they will get the kinks worked out as I don't believe it's been open that long. They do have a great patio area, large with a great view of the lake. We were there at sunset and it was just beautiful. You can't go wrong staying at Acorns Resort!

We chose to stay at Acorns Resort simply due to close proximity to family while visiting from Texas for Thanksgiving. We stayed in cabin #3, prior to arrival we were told at booking that we would be staying in cabin #1 which we were told was being newly renovated with updated furniture, paint, etc. We arrived and I didn't realize the mixup until I walked through the door of cabin 3. Oh my god! Where do I begin?! The cabin was filthy. Dust caked on ledges, ceiling fan, bedroom fan, cobwebs in faulted ceiling and above doorway to bathroom, towels reaked of urine and bleach and one even had bleach stains! Shower curtain in bathroom was hanging because it was missing hooks! Sides of bathroom vanity were swelling due to water damage. Furnace return vent also caked with dust and even shut off in the middle of the night leaving our little girl shivering in the morning because we had no heat! We had to call the office to RESET the furnace ourselves! The unit is a mini split and was throwing sensors! That thing needs some serious maintenance. The girl in the office Katie, could have cared less when I called her about all of these issues. She even had the nerve to tell me that the owner had moved us into cabin #3 and kept the rate the same as a courtesy! Common courtesy would have been to call us and explain the cabin confusion and ask if we'd still like to keep our reservation!!! She even talked up the lake view! Sweetie we're from Texas, it's 40 degrees outside do you really think we care about the water?!? Katie was rude and condescending when she offered to come down to the cabin to knock down the cobweb and told me that they only "DEEP CLEAN THE CABINS IN WINTER". To which I responded with, you should deep clean these cabins after every visitor! In a previous review posted here a month ago the reviewer mentioned some of the same complaints to which the owner said, "we can only fix these problems if we know about them". Well seeing how this was a month ago for the previous visitor, I would think four weeks is enough time to address cleanliness issues. Now I'll get nit picky here: the furniture in the cabin entry doesn't match, a little outdoor table and two mismatching chairs; the "couch" is a flimsy futon with plastic legs from Walmart no doubt, the nightstand in the bedroom is mismatched from the dresser in the closet, the linens are dated, and the towels as you already know were disgusting. I mean they're brown towels! Who puts brown towels in a resort?! Oh and there are TWO entrances to the cabin; neither one has deadbolt locks just some flimsy doorknob locks. I will never recommend this resort to anyone for anything, it shouldn't even be called a resort! We were told that the owner would be in contact with us and they did not. I'm sure they're not used to too many picky types here but my word they need some serious retraining in hospitality and customer service. The saddest part of all of this was the original gal who helped us and took our reservation, Diane (I think), was the sweetest and I am sure she would have handled it all much differently from Katie.

Awful experience..... Do not book. Had an appointment and no one showed up. Luckily a nice lady at the restaurant could show us the venue but had no information. Said the lady who supposed to meet us got the flu. Totally understand.... Then call us to reschedule or send someone else to help us. We took off work and drove 40 minutes just to see this. I don't care how awesome the place looks if you have no respect for your customers. Try The Cove Restaurant though.... They seemed nice.

Ethically flawed and terrible business sense. Our family was looking to book the 2 largest cabins here on a Saturday night (in winter) for an 88 year old birthday party! We had previously spoke with two sales representative who of course said that this was not a problem. We set up a day to check them out prior to booking. In fairness, the cabins were nice. We went to the office to book them. The owner then came out because we had a question about if we could be allowed to decorate the day before if they happened to be open and only she could answer that. She then preceded to tell us that they were having a special stay 2 nights get a 3rd free. We not only didn't need that we could not use it. She then went on to say she didn't want to let us book this because she'd rather wait to see if anyone would book both Friday and Saturday night to not lose out on money AKA make more money OR would we be willing to pay 350 for each rather than the advertised price. She also said that for any additional people over 10 there would be an additional fee however they publish that the cabins hold/sleep 12. There was not a single cabin booked at this time (the other rep had told us). They offer nightly rates for both weekday and weekends. We could go online and book them for the night for the listed price (275 and 300). It was only the owner trying to squeeze more money out of us not any of the other ladies. Wondering if this might actually be illegal, should look into it. So moral of the story is if you want to do business with someone who perhaps lacks a moral compass and who does not sell based on her own published prices then go for it but if you happen to care about the character of the people you do business with you may want to rethink your options. This was my personal experience but I feel like it's one that needs to be shared.

Easy getaway from Wichita and a great place to relax. We really enjoyed cabin 7 and its view of the lake. This was our second stay at Acorns and the addition of the Cove restaurant and outdoor patio is very nice. We look forward to returning in the summer.
