4 P and Mackie Shal Merchantile

This is a fun place to eat and shop. The restaurant is in an old building, I think it was a bank. It is family friendly with brown paper covered tables complete with a bucket of crayons. The menu is on a huge blackboard. They serve breakfast all day. The four of us each ordered different meals all were large portions.. 1. Breakfast meal with an egg, sausage, hash browns and toast.2. Chicken fried steal choice of potato and salad. The chicken fried steak was large and very good.3. Hamburger and fresh made french fries. The meat was much larger than the bun and was not a pre-made pattie. The fries were very good and a large size serving4. Two pancakes that were larger than the plate. They were a little brown, but tasted very good.There is a bar in a separate room and a gift shop to the side. The have a huge counter of old fashioned candy, such as root beer barrels etc.

4P has wonderful breakfast and well worth the short trip to go to go to Bucklin. Everything is homemade, even the bread for the toast. The western omelet was huge and the homemade hash browns were delish. The sausage breakfast burrito was also huge and the tortilla was fresh and soft. Good service was a really nice surprise.
