To say this area of town is overrun by homeless people is an understatement. The only reason we considered staying here is because of affordability, but mainly proximity to the hospital for a family member in ICU.Let's start with Check in. The AC was broken with no ETA on being fixed in the middle of the summer (95+ degrees). Ok things happen... however there was a schizophrenic homeless women in the lobby camped out on the couch with her trash bags. When we asked if this was normal... the person manning the front desk told us "we're in downtown, what do you expect?" Hmmm... red flag. (More to come)The hotel in pics looks updated but don't be fooled, it's decrepit and as you can see filthy and dated. ie. Paint slathered over mold in the shower. The pillows are a bunch of mini decorative squares. Think airplane sized travel pillows. Hallways wreak of cigarettes and urine. No cars in the parking lot which is a plus, but it's pretty obvious why now. Be sure to check your door is latched because it will not catch if you just close it... yes we didn't use a key to first open our musty room. One outlet on one side the bed. When we arrived to our hotel at night after dinner, there was a homeless man loitering at the front door making everyone walking in uncomfortable. The room key security door to get in the front is broken so no real safeguard. We take the elevator and start walking to our room... another homeless man comes out of the stairwell and follows us to our room begging for change. At this point, wow not even safe in the hotel hallways. Called the front desk and she said she would get security. Hah! Joke was there is no guard as we saw her get out of the elevator a few minutes later. I would say you get what you pay for but this is a disgusting last resort motel. Shame on management for false advertisement, faulty operations, and nonexistent security. PS: It's comical they ask you for your car and license plate "in case your lights are left on"... nope, surely it's to know who to contact once your car gets broken in to. Oh yeah the stairwell is a junkyard of old A/C units.

There are only a handful of reasons anyone would want to stay here....1) Like us, you were duped by the flashy photography. 2) It's a chance to rub elbows with those on the cutting fringe of society. 3) Perhaps you're looking for cheap companionship. 4) You like omelettes enough to ignore the moist and sketchy nature of this place. 5) You want your vehicle to have that 'broken in' look. Two stars: one for the comfy bed and one for the functional shower.

I have been meaning to write this review for months, but alas, here I am.I stayed at this hotel a couple of times while moving from Texas back home to Minnesota. The price was great and the location (Wichita) was perfect for what we needed. It's an old hotel and probably could use some additional updates to the rooms, but the lobby looks fantastic. What made this place great though, was the staff we encountered. RaMonte (spelling?) was the main guy working the desk for most of the night and he was extremely hospitable, polite, courteous and helpful. I told him if I could hire him for a job I would do it in a heartbeat. I truly hope he's valued by the management at this property.Joaquin was working the night shift, and I also had a nice conversation with him after we returned from a late dinner. He was also highly personable and friendly. If I'm passing through this area again I would stay here again without even thinking about it. Also, the free drink at check-in was a nice touch.

I was super impressed with this hotel! The decor is great. The beds are comfortable. The rooms were also quiet even with people in rooms on both sides of us. What blew me away was the quality of staff/extras. They offer two free cocktails per guest from 5-7pm, including local craft beer off the tap! In the morning, they turn the bar area into a breakfast bar with waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, annnnd made to order omelets! Coffee is available all day as well. Bre truly made our stay memorable. She was so friendly and gave us great tips on bars/food in the area. Multiple people suggested it was "too sketchy" to walk around from the hotel to old town. After living in large urban areas, the "sketchiness" was nothing. My husband and I were totally fine walking. It was a quick walk to Old Town with lots of bars and restaurants, including a free trolley!

A perfectly nice dormitory for the nearby hospital. Renovations are in progress, leading to the sub-$70 price. Gets the job done like a champ, but nothing special.

We picked this hotel for a recent weekend family getaway based on location. Although the neighborhood around the hotel was, upon arriving and driving it, a bit uneven, it is very close to downtown and to the Old Town area of Wichita, so we did not have to go far to see the river and galleries as well as all the entertainment Wichita has to offer. This appears to be a converted short-stay small hotel that has been personalized and, while it is not a luxury hotel, has many great features, chief of which is probably the terrific hotel staff. Quiet but ready to help, they graciously host a happy hour every evening in the lobby, with free wine and beer. They also provide a free breakfast with a small supply of staff to make omelettes and keep the food areas stocked. Plenty of fruit, cereal and bread options (including a do-it-yourself waffle maker) accompanied the omelette bar, and the coffee was good. When a few needs arose, the staff at the front desk were eager to help and gracious about it. The decor is comfortable and decently stylish, both in the lobby and in the guest rooms. While not what I would call luxury quality, it is nice and you're not paying high end prices here, either. This close-to-everything little hotel with sweet staff fit our family of four perfectly both for budget and location.

Where do I start? Is in the worst neighborhood that I have ever stayed in. Actually had one of the "neighbors" yell at my 14 year old son because he looked up at his patio. It was the type of area where my wife and I took shifts to check on our moving truck to make sure it wasn't damaged or broken into. At one point when I checked on the truck, the "ladies of the night" were walking around our vehicles. The beds were very uncomfortable...very small television...and a musty smell coming from the A/C. What was even WORSE is we found out the morning we checked out that the door didn't even lock! All you had to do was turn the knob...YOU DIDN'T NEED A ROOM KEY! Here is one of the worst neighborhoods and security was minimal. If you stay here, make sure you check the door knob. And be ready to not walk outside after dark. The only positives were the front desk staff and the omelet breakfast in the morning. But I would trade that in for a sense of security. All in all...DON'T STAY HERE. The pictures they post don't tell the true story.

I am so disappointed that this restaurant treated me so badly. The workers was rude as. Fuck they kept on telling me that not allowed to go to their pool. They said there's only a weight limit for the pool and I was like what the. Fuck in my mind I was like this. Bitch Finna get on my nerves and then I was already having a bad day. It was only the first day that I went to this hotel when I first walked into the room there was bedbugs. I had to expect it because I always wanna make sure that my beds are nice for me to sleep in and I was so. Pissed so I had to call customer service. I'm definitely not going here ever again. Bad service I ever seen.

We checked in 1am as we were traveling in 4th of July, at 10:55 I went out to tell the staff that we'll be checking out momentarily, instead they insisted that we check out right.now. 11:01 my lady was still in bed and they literally put the cart inside to keep the door open and stood by the door waiting for her to leave. It was humiliating and unprofessional. We spoke to the manager and he justify the staff. We don't recommend this place at all. Rude staff rude manager lack of customer value. As a long time travelers we never encountered such a ignorant behavior.

This was just a yucky place overall. -Smell of smoke as soon as you walk up to the door.-Cigarette butts and beer bottles on the ground right outside the entrance.-People hanging outside on the bench like its a gas station.-Room smelled moldy and musty-TV only worked sometimes-Nasty carpets: Not only stains, but what seemed to be crushed up crackers. In the lobby and on my floor.I only picked this place because they gave a lot of Southwest points. I was travelling for work, and if I had to pay my own money to stay here I would have been mad.
