On Saturday night, Eric R. and I decided to go here for a date night! I had only stopped in Clay Center once on a road trip around northeast central Kansas. The lore of what brought us here goes back to Brew at the Zoo in Manhattan in 2019. We were trying to taste beer at every brewery's booth, but when we got to 15-24's, they were tapped out. Kindly, they offered us an empty growler and told us to return. The growler reads "Beer Route: All Roads Lead Here" because 15 and 24 are roads that converge near the Brew House. Finally both more than two weeks post-vaccine and aware that there were no reported cases in Clay County, we made the 40 minute drive through budding spring-y fields with purple flowers and arrived in Clay Center to find a full street of cars. Eric R. found one parking spot in front of the Brew House. It was 6 PM and hoppin'! The staff was so friendly, from being greeted by the hosts and helped by the servers throughout our time there. We were seated toward the front window. Since we never got to try the beer in 2019, that was our main priority. We asked our server about flights, and she suggested we could get 4 or 8 beers. We decided on eight, and started telling her selections from the menu. She told us the menu was not quite accurate, so she could pick them for us. We told her any kind except IPA and sour knowing our tastes. She swung by to say she was bringing 9, but 11 beers showed up, and these pours were very generous (see photo). They were all labeled, but the manager stopped by a few times to explain what we were tasting. I took notes on my phone just like I do at Brew at the Zoo.We tried Flyover Lager, Highway 2 Hell, Peel Out Wit, Back Woods Brown, Brittney (like a pina colada), Nancy (pineapple Flyover), Ope! Orange Creamsicle Milkshake, Ski Lift Vanilla Porter, Rural Route Cranberry Lime Radler, Headlight Hefewiezen, and Ohlde Sout.We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip and southwest eggrolls (the restaurant was out of wings that night). I was filling up with the beer and grub, but Eric R. decided to order an entree of shrimp skewers. It came with a salad, blistered green beans, and new potatoes, plus two skewers each with five grilled shrimp. I ate some of his and it was very flavorful. Our main server and the manager told us we could get 4 crowlers for $27, so we honed on our favorites (we easily guessed each other's during the tasting) and the manager told us there was an Ope! the Berries crowler even though it was tapped out, so like a berry milkshake. We got that along with Back Woods Brown, Peel Out Wit, and Ski Lift Vanilla Porter. Our server wanted us to fill the growler, so our marital compromise was on the Headlight Hef, but alas, it was tapped out too. The manager sold us a crowler of the Hef instead. We decided that since the growler led us there, we would indeed return with it and try new beers as they rotate. On the way out, we spotted the multi-layer carrot cake in the case (Eric R.'s favorite), and everyone at the front tried to convince us to take it home (complete with the price with tax), but I knew how many sweets Eric R. got at the farmers market that morning and could not oblige, so now we have another reason to return!Next time, we will make it a beer and dessert stop! The atmosphere is very fun, the staff are awesome, the beer is refreshing, and the food is tasty. We will be back, and it will not take us two years next time! All roads lead here, after all!

This was our first time in. The service was great, friendly and attentive. We tried a flight of beers and they were all good. The two favs were Peel Out and 1 Eye Open. We got the BBQ chicken pizza, the toppings were great! Our only criticism would be that the crust was a little too much. If you like a deeper dish style crust tho, you'll love it. The ambience was focused on community, which is always fun to see. Definitely appreciated the music, a mix of grunge and punk!

Great beer and good food, what's not to like. Located on the south side of the town square, it's a very local place in a good way. The service is good, the food, mostly pub fare, is very good, but the beer is excellent. One of my three favorite breweries in all of Kansas.

Wow wow wow. The Rural Route is the smoothest best beer this wine lover has ever tasted. That plus fish and chips with a spectacular tarter sauce and waffle fries made the night complete. Do the beer flight to find your fav.
