Whitney's was a good stop for a drink on your way to dinner or bar hopping. The bartender was friendly and the locals were welcoming. The only con was that the music was SO LOUD. Like night club loud, but it was right when they opened.

This place used to be a treasure back in the 90s and 00s. Drinks were relatively inexpensive and service was top notch. When it came under the new ownership of Dan, high prices and rude service emerged. It used to be the case when bar owners hung around the bar, you could count on having a good time. Even if Dan was to not say a word for the night, his B.O. stinks up the place.

Enjoyed Whitney's Cafe! They make a surprisingly great tequila sunrise. Not a lot of space to dance but people dance anyway. Because tipsy. It's also a great place to meet people. Decent prices. Decent seating.

Cool little Irish bar. Fun local crowd, cool bartenders, good quality drinks, reasonably priced. And usually great music. What else could you want?

What an incredible little pub. The owner is a born and raised local named Dan, who has been coming here since he was a young chap. He recently bought it right before the start of the pandemic and has managed to keep their doors open against the odds. I loved his personality, wit and enthusiasm. He also makes the best Old Fashioned that I've ever had! When it gets busy, the crowd here is quite diverse and eclectic, which is my kind of scene. If I lived in Boston or Cambridge, I could certainly see this becoming my regular watering hole.

Dan is the man, great service and great vibes. A classic landmark made modern, top notch if you're looking for a real cambridge experience full of locals and Harvard folks

Best bar in Harvard square. Just like anchovies in the south end. Real legends behind the bar & great specialty cocktails absolutely worth ordering. Only food on the menu is potato wedges, wings, and pretzels fwiw

Top notch dive bar holding fast in the middle of wildly gentrified Harvard Square. An absolute stalwart, I've walked by it probably 500 times before going in for the first time yesterday. And if I'd gone in before Covid I don't know if I'd be giving a five star review, but apparently Whitney's is under new management and it shows. The bartender Brin was sprightly and funny, prancing around the bar with a Polaroid camera to take pictures of patrons to tack on the wall. They are apparently even remodeling the front window to add an area for live music and DJs!

What a rad dive bar. Went in after class and had a few beers, listened to an awesome playlist, and laughed with the bartender when she couldn't figure out how to open the register for 30 min. No bells and whistles, just a dive bar. Finally found a decent spot in this town.

Guy at the door (supposedly the owner) verbally threatened to knock my buddy "the f*ck out". Then proceeded to advance towards me and verbally threaten me the same way when I kindly asked him not to speak to my friend like that. Extremely unprofessional and kind of sad.Cute Irish dive, was excited to give it a try. But unacceptable service - go to Grendel's, Grafton St. or Russell House instead.
