Whispers Cafe

Whispers is in the middle of a number of restaurants in the River North area and serves coffee, juice, pastries, and gelato. We opted to get some coffees, a banana nut muffin and a single scoop gelato.They're open late which is great cos my bf is always looking for coffee later in the day. The gelato was nice and light, and we also enjoyed the muffin! It wasnt busy when we went, and scenery is very pretty here. Love that it's a quick stop to start or end my day!

I got the caramel white mocha and it was super nice and sweet! Definitely needed the sugar rush. Service was very quick as well. I love where this cafe is located. It's super cute in the center of the street and has a nice little fountain where people were reading / hanging out. Great summer vibe!

Amazing gelato tried the mint chip and strawberry cheesecake flavors and both were excellent. The cheesecake pieces and creamy texture of the cheesecake gelato were spot on along with the flavor. My husband got a mango strawberry smoothie and didn't care for it but gelato was amazing!

Saw some other reviews saying the coffee wasn't the best. I disagree, I got a blended chocolate/caramel which was amazing. Also got a pistachio muffin that was good as well. Definitely a must try when it's a nice day as it's almost a small brick park in the middle of the city. Don't need to get anything if you're not hungry/thirsty to enjoy the view!

I wouldn't consider this a lakeside venue. However it's a welcome place to stop and grab some coffee or a healthy juice beverage. It has a park like setting with mature trees that can help provide shade while you take that little break touring around Chicago.

I usually stop in for an iced coffee or an iced latte and a blueberry muffin. The coffee sucks, but the scenery makes up for it. Also, the other muffins aren't really great either, but again, ambiance. It's a nice watering hole for this area where you can sit under the shade of lush trees in the summer, people watch, or read a book if you can ignore the street traffic. Service is pretty straightforward. Haven't had a bad experience, but if you come at night and order a "gelato," you're really getting ice cream.

Stopped by here for a fresh juice and it was delicious. $10 for 16 oz is of course expensive but that's what people charge for juice nowadays. I was able to build my own and did celery, pineapple, green apple, and lemon. The cashier was super friendly and helped me choose a good drink! We didn't sit but there were some chairs and little tables available.

Love this cafe but its isn't open winter. You can sit in the best park in the Gold Coast having gelato and coffee.

everything else seemed good but the berry smoothie was so bad-very liquidy and frothy. I made all my friends try it to make sure I wasn't crazy and we all thought it was gross

Worst customer service. Asked for chairs to be open but told it was for the owners. Never again.
