Whidbey Coffee

This coffee is so good, I feel like I have been drinking bitter Starbucks and Peets. Oh wow!

We stop here EVERY time we pass it, when we go from Seattle to somewhere up north. This is ours go-to place and there is always tasty quiche and coffee.

Yum! Try their breakfast burrito it's got potatoes and creamy cheesy texture! Delish!

This place is in the Evergreen Hospital complex in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland. If you're in the area and need some 'spro, park in the Central garage. There are several locations on the campus. I like to get a double espresso with some steamed oat milk. The coffee is dark, roasty and aromatic. They use their Whidbey beans for espresso and the French roast bags for sale also smell wonderful. (Yes, I huff bags of coffee beans.) Free parking and WiFi.

I love the fact that coffee is only a dollar here if you bring your own cup or get a refill. That alone keeps me coming back. The coffee itself is pretty good, not the smoothest roast ever but not as over-roasted as some places we all know. Quaffable and filled with the caffeine every growing boy or girl needs.I don't usually get the espresso drinks, but they have uniformly been good when I have.The pastries are all pretty delicious, and there is even a vegan option of a breakfast cookie. They also sell soups and sandwiches, which are decent although not great. I do wish they had more fruit options, but fresh fruit probably doesn't sell well in coffee joints.

We visited Washington for the first time, our friends lived on Whidbey Island and we definitely wanted some coffee... but everyone has Starbucks so we wanted to try another local spot. Im glad we found this gem! Great service. I bought a mug and my coffee was free... the pastries were delish. If you are looking for something other than a Starbucks in Washington this is a great choice!! Will definitely go there again.
