I'll stop by pretty much weekly to get a loaf of Sourdough or pick one up from Whole Foods! They have a ton of different varieties of bread and they slice them there for you on site!

I absolutely love this bakery! There are so many amazing flavor sweet or savory combinations of bread that you won't find anywhere else. Oh and the bread is always so moist. Heaven! My go to is the sun dried tomato and basil bread but you really can't go wrong with any flavor. They also have donuts on Saturdays and they are some of the best (and biggest) in the city. They'll also rotate in different treats like cinnamon rolls. What a neighborhood gem!

OMG I love this place! They have the best cookies and bread! The cookies are ultimate indulgence, a bit sweet but soooo goodThey have so many fresh bread to choose from. My favorites are tomato Baby Spinach, Onion and Garlic Ciabatta and Sun-Dried Tomato w/Fresh Basil Oil. Sometimes they have samples so you can try. The bread is fresh and soft on the inside. The crust is not too hard but still crispy. On Saturdays they have donuts and my god they are huge! We tried the lemon ricotta which was great but I think their cookies taste better. They have several locations including Brookline, Jamaica Plain, and Sommerville just to name a few. Pro tip: Buy their gift card during Christmas where they had a promotion of buying a $25 gift card and receive a free loaf of bread ($6 value).

I first went to When Pigs Fly for their Saturday doughnuts. People were lined up in the winter cold to get them! I didn't know what to expect and ordered six. I was surprised when the employee was putting MASSIVE yeast doughnuts into individual boxes and stacking them up in a shopping bag for me. Yikes! Six of their doughnuts was overkill. I liked them, but my wife prefers cake doughnuts so I had to eat FIVE of them by myself which was tall order!Fortunately, I saw that When Pigs Fly main deal is bread and I got a loaf of their most popular one: Baby Spinach, Onion and Garlic Ciabatta for $6. We're SUPER into it and it is now our primary bread. We use it for snacks, sandwiches and whatever else comes to mind. I've also tried their Maple Walnut Banana also for $6 and enjoy it as French Toast. What we discovered is that we need to keep these breads in the fridge otherwise they grow mold. So, pro tip that.ALSO, we love ordering the breads (and cookies) and shipping them to friends and family around the country. It's a big winner! We spring for 2-day express shipping because, well. It's food. And we know that it molds. So I don't know why the 2-day express shipping isn't the default, basic option. But now you know and can try your luck with slower shipping if you feel daring.

This little bakery is the BEST place to stop in when you are walking down Center St. They have the quirkiest and most fun flavors of bread that you could possibly imagine. When you stop by, they offer samples! They have many sweet and savory bread options. As if free samples and fun flavor weren't enough, my FaVoRiTe thing about this place is the doughnuts on Saturday mornings. They have a ton of fun flavors, the doughnuts are huge and obviously( since this is a bread place) are fluffy and fresh. It's a fun thing to look forward to (and get you out of bed) on Saturday morning. I'm so spoiled to have such a unique local joint down the street from me!

Fantastic bread! Really can't go wrong. However, pay attention to the ingredients as even many of the savory breads are sweetened with sugar, molasses, etc.

So their breads are excellent and inventive, we know this. But what you're really here for is the freshly-made Saturday donuts, so here's the scoop:-They open at 10, but the line starts beforehand (there was about 6 people ahead of me right at 10), and demarkations for social distancing are indicated on the sidewalk, which people were good about using. Only a few people allowed in at a time (and masks mandatory, obviously)- but the line goes pretty quickly, since the set-up is fairly efficient.-They offer about dozen flavors, listed outside (sandwich board and sign in window) and then also set out in the display case inside so you can see what they look like. The flavors span the gamut (to traditional apple cider, from chocolate, to fruit, to filled) so you're likely to find something that suits everyone. I'm partial to the blackberry almond, which has an excellent balance of flavor and crunch/texture- but still need to work my way through the full menu.-They are indeed as big as your head- plan accordingly.-Order with one person, while the other rings you up- and I think the donuts are already pre-boxed so it makes the check-out process very quick. -FYI for some reason tipping on my credit card was not an option- they did have a tip jar, but in the Quarantimes I'm not in the habit of carrying around cash so felt pretty bad about that. -Each donut is an excellent value at about $3.50.Worth it. (Also don't miss their other baked goods- their cookies are ginormous and delicious as well.)

This place is wildly good!! So many different types of sourdough, all at very reasonable prices. Got a lemon blueberry cookie that tasted like the top of a sugary muffin--yum-- and a sourdough bread bowl that was only $2.50 and fed me for two days. Can't recommend enough! They're the real deal.
