My daughter (7) wanted to "take me to lunch" and we decided to go here. We had a great time! Amazing experience over all! We sat at the bar (per her request) got to chat with the chef and it was just a really fun time. The food was really good too, no complaints! We loved it

Come here hungry the servings are huge. I had the smothered fried steak, eggs, potatoes & biscuits. The biscuits are homemade they are so good.. the flavors and seasoning in the he portions are perfection. My husband had the on Andouille Scramble it was so yummy. It came with biscuits and potatoes. The service was excellent. The diner has really cool vibes, it fits in well with Roosevelt Row restaurants. It not hard to find parking.

Tried out Welcome Diner for a weekday dinner. The atmosphere and menu selections did not disappoint. Situated in the Garfield district, Welcome Diner is located within a residential neighborhood with only street parking options. Luckily we had no issues securing a spot out front. The menu has a nice array of vegetarian and meat-loving selections. We tried the fried green tomato sandwich and the Big Jim chicken sandwich with a fried egg. The fried green tomato sandwich unfortunately lacked flavor and there was barely any chipotle ranch on the bread. Even adding hot sauce couldn't resuscitate the sandwich, luckily the paired Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. The Big Jim was doused in gravy, so no flavor lacking there! The portion was large and came with a heaping of fries. Overall the service was attentive and the restaurant has a fun vibe. I'm not ready to give up on this place just yet! I'll be trying something new on the menu that hopefully packs more punch

The food was very tasty! The service was exceptional and the old fashion Diner vibes hit home. We had a party of 14 and they accommodated us and didn't miss a beat. Well done Welcome Diner! The only hiccup here was the coffee. The coffee need is to be better with more creamer choices. Overall still 5 stars here. We tried it here because it was slated as the best in AZ. I don't know what the beat is however it's up there. The family had a great experience and the kids liked the lil play area outside under the shade trees.

Great Friendly DinerNot sure what took me so long to visit Welcome Diner, I've passed by so many times. I'm so glad I stopped today. Welcome Diner has a nostalgic feeling and an outdoor pet friendly, patio makes for a casual and comfortable dining experience. Our meals and service went beyond our expectations. Everything was perfectly delicious and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. On this visit I ordered the Welcome breakfast (two eggs, seasoned potatoes, and homemade biscuit) and my lunch companion had the the Jose burger (which he said was one of the best he has ever had) with fries (the very skinny kind). Everything was fresh, made to order, well seasoned, and served pipping hot.As full as we were, we still made room to share a slice of their Salted Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie Slice, all I have to say is, leave room for the pie!

Love, love, love Welcome Diner. First of all, the atmosphere is kind of hipster cool classic diner, definitely not fancy, but definitely interesting. From the artwork, to the random stickers everywhere to the pinatas in the tiny hallway to the bathrooms, this place just has personality. There is even a disco ball in the entrance and playground horses in the outdoor seating area. There is a little bar, and a dessert shelf with delicious looking pies. When we got there, there was a wait for a table inside, so we sat at the counter. This turned out to be pretty cool, because we could watch them cooking up the food. They really have it down to an art. When the cook cut my sandwich in half, some of the delicious filling squeezed out. I could have kissed him because he scooped up the wayward filling and put it right on my plate, instead of just leaving it there and wiping it away. The food here is so, so, so good. It's not light, heart healthy fare, but it doesn't matter because it is so, so, so good. I had the chicken melt, which is a chicken salad (not your typical chicken salad) on buttered, grilled Noble bread with cheese, lettuce and tomato. My son had the Big Jim, a huge piece of boneless fried chicken topped with bacon, cheese, and delicious sausage gravy sandwiched between a biscuit--a biscuit that was cut in half, buttered and grilled. And the fries? Like everything else, so, so, so good. One of these days I'm going to get out there early for breakfast. In sure it's fantastic, because every time we've been here everything has been.

Arrived to this spot after a long drive. I had glanced the menu over before arriving and didn't have time to call. I was just hoping they had fried green tomatoes! As soon as we walked in, staff was super welcoming , we were greeted and seated quickly. The place is nostalgic, diner back in the day vibe with counter seating and tables around inside and outside sunny seating was available too. They had the misters going to keep you cool outside. It brings down the temp quite a bit and makes it comfortable to seat outdoors. Many jars and old fashioned memorabilia decorate the place. The counter seating it's where it's at. You get to see all the magic behind the cooking action take place. I debated between an old fashioned burger once it was time to order but stuck to my original plan of the fried green tomatoes. I had the sandwich with the salad. Green tomatoes were perfectly breaded and seasoned and the bread got this sandwich was toasted yet very chewy inside, just right. The bread had this Succotash tangy sweet spread that brought out the sweetness of those fried green tomatoes. I enjoyed my sandwich very much. We also got an order of the poutine fries. They were smothered in country gravy. They fries were tasty but I think we should have ordered their biscuits and gravy instead. I was pretty full, servings are good size. I didn't think I'd get desert but I was eying their pies as soon as we walked in and they were running low from what I saw but hoped they had more in the back. Still, I decided to go for it and was able to snag a slice of that chocolate bourbon pecan pie! Oweeee, that was sooooo good. Had them slap a mound of vanilla ice cream on top of that and it was heavenly. I was very happy with the service and everything else, I enjoyed my meal experience here. Thank you so much.

VIBES: 5/5FOOD: 3/5SERVICE: 4/5VALUE: 3/5I actually really liked this place and intend on going back, but the value + food/drink were a bit underwhelming for me. I'm all for the vibe, and the vibe is right here. I loved it. I want to try more food, and optimistically anticipate other dishes to be a lot better than what I tried. The poutine fries were fine, but would've tasted a lot better if they weren't $13. I liked that the fries were thin + crispy, but not too crispy and dried out. Honestly really well done on that front. The Brussels sprouts were fine but no stand-out. I felt I could've cooked it myself, and that's saying a lot. I was excited about the house made ginger beer in my Moscow mule, but wished it was a lot more flavorful than it was. It low key could have been mistaken for lemonade. The Spaghett was fun + tasty. The miller was definitely the strongest flavor, but still good. The vibe was 5/5. I definitely want to come back, try other things and give it another shot!
