We came here for late dinner on a weekend; great food, good service, cool ambiance. We were able to get reservations made on their website same day (a couple hours in advance). The menu is tapas style. Wide selection, the portion sizes were fair (small but not as small as you might expect for fancy tapas place)Everything was great! Babaganoush, pita, falafel, scallopsService was pretty prompt, and the seating / interior of the restaurant was modern and beautiful.Would come

We only came here for drinks on a weeknight & sat at the bar but we literally had so much fun and the best drinks in DC! They have an EXTENSIVE list of Greek wines- which coming from someone who visited Greece, i was so excited to get some delicious wine by the class from Crete! My husband enjoyed the extensive bourbon list including some rare labels such as - pappy van winkle and some select Blanton's. The bar itself is cute and our bartender was so sweet and very attentive! Would def recommend!!

We had an amazing experience at Zaytinya by Chef José Andrés!Drinks were good. Food was delicious. Each dish was creative and well put together. So many complimentary flavors. Favorites were the scallops and Brussels. But everything was great. We'll be back to try other items as the menu is a good size. Staff was professional, friendly, and timely. Decor was Mediterranean, blue tile, decorative cushions in seats, and homey vibes even though it's an upscale restaurant. We had a corner bench so it was very comfy felt like I was at a friend's house being served the best Mediterranean I've had. Highly recommend making reservations as it's often packed. Located near Chinatown Gallery place and City Center so many options for parking, public transportation, and activities before/after eating.

Great vibes, great bar, the food is delicious. Got the tabbouleh salad, Taziki, and a chicken platter. All delicious. Wish they had mezze platter but I guess they make more by selling just the portion. They have a variety of Greek wines with great description to help you choose. Service was fine. I did feel a bit pressured to pay the bill and go, while I still had a fresh glass of wine, or to finish eating because every time someone passed by they tried to pick up my plate. ( this happened 3 times) Please ask!!!! Other than that, I would recommend, just keep a look out for your unfinished food, they will take it!

Expensive and okay. This is probably traditional Mediterranean food and just wasn't what flavors in really was looking for. The chef is well renowned. The restaurant is beautiful. But I just wasn't digging the menu, or to be frank. Their prices. Maybe DC is just an expensive place but yeah if it wasn't on the company dime I wouldn't have eaten here. It was busy here for lunch but feel like service was still prompt and good. Waiter was nice but didn't listen very well had to correct a few things a few times but wasn't bad. Just wasn't great. Sure if you want super authentic Mediterranean food then this is your place. Just wasn't mine.

Zaytinya exceeded all expectations and we had a phenomenal and wonderful dinning experience here ! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and stylish ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable meal. The menu, inspired by Mediterranean flavors, is truly exceptional. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and packed with fresh, vibrant flavors. The mezze selection was a highlight--perfectly seasoned hummus, crispy falafel were standout dishes. The warm fresh bread was amazing and the dessert selection, especially the baklava, was the perfect sweet finish. All the drinks we tried were refreshing and tasted soo good ! The service was impeccable--attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations about vegetarian dishes that enhanced our dining experience.Zaytinya offers a wonderful balance of creativity and authenticity in its cuisine. It's a place I'd return to again and again and recommend wholeheartedly to anyone visiting D.C.

This is a perfect place to go with several people- lots of plates to share and explore, and the fixed course chef's choice menu is quite fun as well- two orders of those would be enough for four people to try, and then choose some additional plates. Service is great- the pita bread keeps coming! My only gripe was that a dirty martini I ordered was very much not dirty at all. Some partsof the restaurant are much hotter than others.

This is my favorite restaurant in DC. I've booked an office dinner here and was treated well in the upstairs space. This last time I came for restaurant week lunch for $35. The online restaurant week menu is different from the printed menu in the restaurant. The labneh is always my favorite. The brussels sprouts were perfection. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with fresh, vibrant flavors. The warm fresh bread was amazing. The falafel was a disappointment because it was tiny which means most of it is the crispy outside and little of the flavorful inside. My friend got the salmon and I compared the size of her food, and how filling that makes her, and how she had to box it up to take home because her second entry the chicken filled her up. You can't compare a salmon steak to falafel, its not comparable. They should have had a better third course for vegetarians that is more filling. Falafal is street food in the middle east and so cheap to make. For desert I got the olive oil cake which was an embarrassment. Also I follow all the wonderful work World Central Kitchen does and after their volunteers were deliberately bombed and Jose spoke out against it, his restaurant should stop selling wine from the country that murdered his volunteers.

I've been to Zaytinya many times over the years and it's one of my favorite restaurants in DC. It is a reliable standby with reasonable prices. My most recent visit was for happy hour (4-6 PM Mon-Fri at the bar) which features discounted pide (flatbreads) and a few discounted drinks. We got the Za'atar Pide ($6 HH), hummus with lamb ($13), and brussels sprouts ($12) along with a few cocktails ($10-$11 HH) and wine ($8 HH). This, along with some of their delicious free bread, was enough for a light dinner. The pide was good, but needed more za'atar seasoning. Hummus was a highlight, and the brussels solid. Drinks like the Praise Bee (like lemonade), 3pm in Istanbul, and Ankara Rye Club (basically an Old Fashioned) were also successful -- our favorite was the 3pm.The bar area is large but always busy, even at 5 PM on a Monday. Service was fine if a little slow. I love the Zaytinya space, which has simple decor and separates the dining room into a few different areas so that it doesn't feel too big.
