Lady said 15 minutes for fresh food so she could give me old cold food. I sat and watched and 1 min later.. fresh chicken. Liar!

Ordered the lo-mien, fries, and bourbon chicken. Kind of a weird mix of food but I wanted to have something in case the kids didn't like the teriyaki chicken next door from Nori Japan. It wasn't the best I have ever had but not bad either. Anyway better than Nori's, since the kids ended up eating the Lotus' bourbon chicken. The guy cashier was very cordial which was refreshing and didn't have any problem accommodating my additional requests for water and ketchup.

This review is based on the service and food quality. For reference I ordered the lo mien, chicken (not orange chicken it was just chicken) , and vegetables. I am going to start off by saying that you can't really expect much from mall food. I have worked in the mall before so I have relied on mall food before so I know what to expect, having said that, this is one of the worst Chinese fast food places I have ever had. I would much rather have Panda Express or not have Chinese at all.Starting with the service which is the reason is has stars. Service was very quick. They ask you what you would like and quickly serve you. If something is extra, they tell you. They don't surprise you with hidden costs. The meal I got was a $4.99 meal which was a meat and 2 sides. They aren't super friendly but I'm not there to make friends to it doesn't bother me.Food quality is very poor. The meat I had did not taste like chicken, it tasted like ground up leftovers which is never very appetizing. The veggies were not fresh. The lo mien was greasy. Again, I understand that this is a fast food/take out restaurant but I wouldn't charge for things like this. I found food like this to be unappetizing.Overall I saw many other restaurants that seemed to have more appetizing menus. I would not recommend this fast food restaurant to anyone regardless of the price. You will regret it!

Lotus Express offers very generic Chinese food in the Potomac Mills food court. The food is ready to be served, sort of cafeteria style, pick your items. They offer several chicken items (orange, kung pao, pepper,..), pepper steak, tofu w eggplant, lo mein noodles, fried rice, egg rolls, noodle soups, and cold drinks (Coke fountain sodas, bottled water, and can sodas). For combos, they offer Special Combo ($4.99) 1 meat/2 sides, 2 Item Combo ($5.99) with 1 side, and 3 item combo ($6.49) with 1 side.I stopped by for dinner takeout and decided on the Special Combo ($4.99 plus tax). Initially, I wanted noodles, mixed vegetables, and grilled fish as my choices. The older woman working here was already scooping fried rice into the box as I said noodles and she scooped back the rice into the pan and gave me noodles. I got mixed vegetables next, but I pointed to the fish and was told it would be $5.99 (??-the sign for the $4.99 Special Combo read 1 meat and it should really read 1 chicken item). At least I got warning of the price. I chose the Kung Pao Chicken instead to keep the price of the meal at $4.99 plus tax. I declined the offer for a drink (no prices posted) since I already had a soda in my hand from another place in the mall. While the portion of food was good size, the food was not great. The noodles were very soft and oily and the mixed vegetables (broccoli, onions, peppers) were oily too. The main dish was not authentic Kung Pao Chicken had mix of chopped chicken pieces with some fat/tendon pieces, onions, and hot chili peppers (no water chestnuts, celery, peanuts?). This dish lacked flavor. I managed to finish the food minus the not eating fat/chewy pieces of chicken.I would not recommend this place for food court Chinese food. Panda Express would be a better option.

You Get What You Pay For... I ordered general tso's chicken with noodles, and a side of egg rolls. The quality of the food is horrible. My chicken looked as if it were covered in Orange Jell-O. The noodles tasted very plain which were not seasoned at all. The egg rolls were filled with mushed up vegetables, the texture was disgusting. Didn't even finish eating. I want to go get a refund, but I'll save them the embarrassment from someone else.

You definitely get what you pay for. Can't expect much for $4.99 - one meat & 2 sides. I chose the Pepper Steak, fries & rice. Added soy sauce galore. My bf had the Bourbon Chicken with fried rice & one spring roll. He said the chicken was a little too sweet. Filling, but not delicious. Again, can't expect too much for this price, and this being in a busy outlet mall food court the day after Black Friday doesn't help.

$4.99 meal? Seems too good to be true, and it is. You get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I ordered here I got bourbon chicken with rice and egg rolls , which by the way are more like spring rolls, but the veggies inside are mushy and not crisp .... The rice lacked basic seasoning as did my boyfriend's noodles . The bourbon chicken was... Meh... On his plate was "General Tso's" chicken which looked more like small clumps of orange Jello, and also lacked major seasoning, whatever it was it tasted like water . Seriously pay $1-$2 more next door and get yourself some decent food. I hope I don't end up with food poisoning tonight.

If you think, "Wow a Chinese meal for only $4.99?" Here's what I'm going to suggest you do, take your $5, and go to the nearest trash can. Now drop the money in there and walk away. You have now experienced what it's like to have Yeung's Lotus Express. Went to the mall to grab some things. There used to be a differ Chinese place that I would go to, but from the looks of the food court a lot has changed over the past 5 years (RIP: Quiznos, Popeyes, and others) had a sample of their bourbon chicken which wasn't that bad so I we decided to grab a meal here. We figured one meal was enough so we were going to split it, I asked the cashier for an extra utensil and she said one utensil per order which I've honestly never heard any restaurant say in my entire life. We asked for a cup of water too and they made sure to let me know that we were only allowed one which it wouldn't really matter I guess since we could just split that. But you aren't allowed a water refill either. Not much of customer service. The meal was okay at first but then you start to notice 70% of your chicken is just fat that wasn't cut away. Really low quality and would not recommend it to anyone. Food: 3/10Service: 1/10

Went to Lotus Express after Xmas shopping, grabbed some Bourbon Chicken to go, when I got home and opened it, the plate contained only rice and cabbage, attempted calling to ask for a refund to avoid walking all the way back through the mall. and the woman who answered stated she did not speak English and could not transfer me to someone who did.

DO NOT EAT HERE.I asked if I could get fresh cooked chicken teriyaki because it was very low and the lady ignored me and filled the Togo box anyway. I repeated myself and she said she filled the box but it would be 15 minutes. So I took it and paid for my food. I started a clock timer on my phone and 1 minute and 11 seconds later they came out with fresh chicken. I went up and asked if I could get the fresh chicken since she said 15 minutes. She said "I said 10 minutes and it's been 10 minutes." I then showed her the timer. She said I ll do this special for you. Feels up a small cup with chicken and proceeds to charge me $3.50!!! I hand her back the chicken and she dumps it back in with the other chicken after I clearly have touch it. Terrible.
