Luckily we arrived just in time before a long line coming in and didn't have to wait too long to get a table. The service was quick and friendly as we ordered by pointing some on the menu. FoodAmazing Wood-fired shakshuka (with lamb) - definitely delicious and well balanced of acidic and savory plate! It was filled with herb spiced tomatoes, savory onions, and feta cheese, with a side of the pita bread. Pita bread itself is beyond the words.... Warm, and soft topped with lots of awesome za'atar spices! Then if ya are willing to pay extra for the lamb.... It's worth it especially with this shawarma. Really filling in one sitting! Caffeines - Baklava mocha (with oat milk) - just light and not well mixed of chocolate taste as rich chocolate flavor was tasted at the bottom of the cup. Pretty disappointing. - Smoked dirty chai (with oat milk) - this drink hits the spot! Good depth of spices. I was glad to try this one out! Turns out one of my favorites. Definitely coming back and try others on the menu!

Arrived on a Sunday around noon and there was a line out the door and to outdoor seating area. They moved it quickly so only took about 15 minutes. Seating was sold out. Cafe with loud and busy vibe. Saw the Smoked Lamb Shoulder Pita on "Somebody Feed Phil" so ordered one as well an Amba chicken.......It was tasty-seasoned and tender without the gamey. Chicken was also excellent. Pricey and on par with Michelin Star billing (& hey it's Georgetown.)Also, ordered a Cortado-bold, strong and the way I like it. A good variety of artisanal baked goods. All looked worthy of a try but how could I pass up "Turkish Coffee Caramel Brownie?" Like no other Brownie I've ever tasted-couldn't make out the spice they're using (tea spices?). No matter- it was delicious (not overly sweet with just a touch of savory) and unique.Liked the "talk, enjoy food/coffee and the laptop/work can wait"message. Service was friendly and with hustle as they worked to manage the peak. Definitely worth a stop and if you don't like busy, during the week might be better-don't miss that Turkish Coffee Brownie!

Everyone's heard about the hype but is the daunting long lines worth the wait? That was literally the question my bf happened to ask people exiting the venue whilst we waited in line to get some lunch.Their answer: Yes, I hate to say it but Yellow is worth the hype and the wait. Now would this location be less busy at 8am on a weekend or on any other weekday morning? Probably. But we happened to be there at around 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. Being turned around by the line for breakfast around 10am (we were in a rush for an appointment elsewhere in the area) we decided we would try our luck again around lunch time before heading home.Still a line, but at least we didn't have anywhere to be now. So we stood. The line however moves kind of quickly. Depends I suppose. The real struggle becomes trying to find a place to seat and enjoy your meal. And maybe that is where the minus star plays in.. They need to expand. They know they have lines out the door, and I doubt everyone in the line is local and some have come from outside the city. Yes they have other locations but if this Georgetown location is so popular, maybe consider expanding and accommodating more dine in options for people. That being said we managed to find a spot. It's not comfortable however as at any given time there are people just hovering all over the place waiting for their order or waiting to see what seat opens up.We ordered the amba chicken pita, the Turkish caramel brownie, the kouign Amman and I got a date cappuccino whilst my bf got the baklava mocha.Yes food is absolutely delicious. Everything on the chicken amba pita was deliciously seasoned and ample portion size. The brownie and the kouign Amman were perfect endings to the pita. Price wise, a little steep though maybe because my total bill came out to around 50 dollars.

I had another great lunch at Yellow this weekend! The seasonal lamb leg and smoked mushroom pita was delicious and incredibly filling. I wish I knew the secret to how they get their pitas so soft and pillowy - they truly are the most perfect ones I've eaten anywhere. My favorite lunch pita is still a tie between the bbq'd lamb shoulder and the crispy falafel, but I've never not loved what I've eaten, and this one had a great combination of flavors. The pickled chilies are perfect as a topping, and I love that they let you order it with the pita on the side now and fill it yourself, which lets me mix up the stuffing perfectly first too. Do yourself a favor and get an order of the batata tots with urfa the sauce too. They're worth every penny!

The name is very deceptive! Please don't believe them! This isn't Yellow The Cafe! This is ....Yellow THE DREAM!! LOL Seriously! This place with it's Yellow color, kind hearted employees, cute ambiance and the very delicious food and drinks! The fusion and mixes here are phenomenal! Here East meet West ! I really don't know from where should I start ! I've tried the following so far: - The Jammy Egg Croissant - delicious egg cooked to perfection over a shakshuka inside a round croissant! The moment I got a bite that had all 3 components together I almost cried - joy tears- the egg and shakshuka taste exactly like my mom's!! One that I haven't ate in 13 years! ( hopefully mom will visit from Egypt one day and do it for me!) But then I said wait a minute!! My mom doesn't know how to make a croissant! ( please don't tell her I said that! Lol , she can make it if she try ) - Soujek Croissant- was amazing taste and combination but honestly need to have more meat and cheese in it!- Zaa'tar & Labna croissant was really nice mix of flavor!- Amba Chicken Shawarma, Crispy batata ( potato) , pickles and green shatta (chili) labne on a freshly baked pita. !!! Amazing!! More than amazing!- Smoked lamb shoulder with pickled chili's, cabbage and whipped labne .. I had a problem with this one! The lamb flavors are phenomenal but it came on lettuce and the pickled chilis were all the way at the bottom and I just ate it all at the last bite of Pita with no meat or labne ! It would have been better if the sandwich was better arranged. I have a suggestion for a secondary version of this amazing lamb shoulder sandwich which is to have another option and let's call it the Lamb Shawarmer! ;) this should be the lamb shoulder , minced mint , minced parsley , tomato, summac onions and tahini ! This sandwich will be a revolution! I hope they can make it one day and invite me for a the launch ceremony! Lol I've had Espresso before , amazing. Baklava Mocha was so good too! I like how can you grab a glass bottle of water and a glass and take it to your table and drink as much as you need! The bathroom was clean and smells good The parking is tough but that's Georgetown! You shouldn't be surprised My wish is to go to the Not Pizza ( the store turns to a different style, their take on pizza calling it Not Pizza after 4 pm ) they say Reservations accepted but Walk-ins encouraged! Also I dream to go to All the Kebabs at their union market location! Which is also there after 4 pm , Reservations accepted but Walk-ins encouraged! Try it, vote for the review , message me, or compliment me with any comment or question, and don't forget to ... Pray for me ;)

Really good! Finally stood in line because it was relatively short in the cold weather and we realized it actually goes by pretty fast. The lamb shoulder wood fired pita was a sandwich pocket-- we thought it was the pizza looking thing. But it was really good. Super packed with tender lamb and well seasoned. The Red shatta hummus wasn't spicy, super flavorful. I wasn't a big fan of the pita bread because it was super fried and kind of hard. The Batata tots were awesome! Soo many spices and flavors. Loved the fried and layered potato texture. It was a bit on the salty side but my spouse and I both said we'd come back for this. The tumeric latte was really good -- not too sweet. Overall I see what the hype is about. My biggest complaint is the seating situation (and the only reason I'm giving four instead of five stars). Kind of chaotic, and it's every person for themselves... Very packed and people squeeze themselves in every which corner. So not ideal for claustrophobic/ germaphobic people. But... I'll still be back!

Amba Chicken Pita: it was good but not $17 good. For it to have such unique ingredients, none of them really stood out. It was a great size and had good flavor...I would still recommend it but wouldn't go out of my way for it.... For $17.Baklava croissant: wheww I would come back for this. I felt like it was impressive. Great sweet treat... Flavor was hitting enough for me to not question the twice baked-ness. KudosI had a savory pastry but can't remember what it was... It had like onions and maybe red pepper paste and something else. There wasn't meat.... This isn't helpful. Anyway it was pretty tasty. I think I have a picture.

I seriously have no idea where to begin. My bestie took me here for my birthday dinner during my trip to DC and I absolutely fell in love. From the perfectly dimmed ambient lighting to the excellent service and of course the delicious food, I had the most incredible and unique experience. We started off with the Sumac G+Ts which were just amazing. I love the citrusy element the sumac gave to the G+T - it was perfectly sweet and sour and a cocktail I need to try recreating. Plus how cute is that cucumber ribbon?! To start we got the charred onion labne and the little gem salad. Both were delicious but the labne really stole the show for me. The onions were perfectly caramelized and the hint of spice with the freshness of the mint combined with the tangy labne really took it home. Just perfection. For our shared entrée, we did the burnt eggplant "not" pizza and that was an experience in itself. Rich, smoky, and an explosion of the best Middle Eastern flavors. It was also huge and cut in quarters so I highly rec sharing one of these with 3 or even 4 people if you're still getting some starters. Tying it all together was our amazing dessert - the labne and baklava soft serve. Crisp, flaky, fudgey chunks of baklava await your every scoop at the bottom and the tangy labne flavor of the actual soft serve is the best vessel. I've never had a dessert quite like this and quite frankly I'll be dreaming about it for months to come. I can't wait to be back in DC to dine here again. Just excellent all around!!!!

Update: my mom came to visit me from another state, and in the 48 hours she was here, we went here twice. That's how much she loved this place. We came early, at 9:00 am both times so we could get a seat. After 9:30 AM, it starts to get crowded. We ordered: The breakfast egg pita- delicious, I've gotten this several times. My mom said it was bursting with flavor. Has soft scrambled eggs, labneh, tahini, and chopped salad. Zaatar egg croissant- I got this with the red hot shatta. The zaatar croissant was the crispiest and most buttery croissant I've ever had, and it had a runny egg, labneh, and peppers inside which went really well together. Jammy egg shakshuka croissant- genius idea, literally shakshuka in a croissant. Filled with tomato/red pepper sauce, a jammy egg, and feta cheese on top. This pastry sells out quickly everyday. Batata tots- the tots are so crispy on the outside and have zaatar on them, and the Urfa sauce it comes with was delicious. My mom said she wished she could take the sauce with her on the plane to Florida. Cardamom morning bun- delicious, crispy and cardamom flavor that isn't too overpowering, and not overly sweet. Palestinian olive oil basbousa cake- very moist and dense cake, you can really taste the Palestinian olive oil in it (which has citrusy notes to it). It was topped with pistachio halva which was a nice touch. Black tea- my mom had this, not me, but she liked it so much she found the exact tea online to order for herself.

Everything I ate tasted the way it used to taste when I lived in Jordan, enjoying variations on local, Palestinian and Lebanese dishes. Even the sesame kaak bread rounds. That's an accomplishment. Very crowded smallish space and not cheap but worth it for the food.
