omg , please don't go there. It is the worse , I paid almost $19 for a plate with a costilla , which it was only one cut in half, the rice felt like it was boiled in water and they forgoth to remove the water , la costilla salty, and paper thin How can they serve you one and cut it in half and pretend there are two , and the vegetables. Oh my God please don't go there and don't waste your money in there.the taste was horrible.

Went here with a friend after we got our nails done in the area. The best part was the service! The 2 ladies who worked at the front were so kind and helpful. They helped us decide what to order, and recommended us some of their refreshing juice! It was so fresh and sweet! Food was good too, and the bakery section was cute. They had some cute smiley face cookies I wanted to try, as well as some delicious looking cakes. I definitely want to come back and try more of their desserts.

The food here is made fresh to order, so allow yourself a little time when ordering. If you speak fluent Spanish, you'll be golden. My high school skills from the mid nineties still got me by. And they have pictures!! I got the seafood soup, which was one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten!! Seriously, please try.

There is a bit of a language barrier lol, but they make an effort to communicate. I come in fairly frequently for a baked good in the morning. Their croissants and (what I'm going to call an Apple turnover its triangular shaped next to the croissants, but we all know that it probably not the name of it LOL) are delicious and perfect with my morning coffee. I like to just point at some of the baked items if we can't communicate hahaha.I'm definetly going to try lunch their at some point. I heard their pupusas are really good from a couple of the locals, and they have elotes!! Which is a corn of the corn slathered with yummy goodness. Anyways, their coffee is also good, not bad average but if you're in need of a little pick-me-up it's a great place to stop it and grab. They also have a huge selection of lunch/dinner options and a large seating area on the otherside if you wanted to eat in. I will update the review when I get my hands on those pupusas!

The food was good but they got my order totally wrong. I asked for a breakfast sandwich and they charged me for something completely different. Order went from 6 bucks to 17 bucks. Turns out it was a breakfast platter. There is language barrier for sure, and I wasn't going to argue it as I was already charged and didn't want to cause a scene. If you're not familiar with Spanish, I wouldn't recommend going there without a translator. The food wasn't bad but just not what I wanted.

All the food I've had here has been great. It's a small, humble place that's great for authentic Central American options. It's the only place I've seen baleadas in the DC area. I get them all the time! An order comes with 2 for about $8. Handmade tortillas. You can get them three diff ways- basic, with avocado and/or chicken. Yum!I've also had Pupusas here, tostadas, plantains, beans, breakfast etc. it's all good. Did the Salvador breakfast sandwich which was weird but still tasty. They also gave sweet breads and pastries. Staff doesn't speak English. All Hispanic clientele- so you know it's good ;)

Felt like eating some empanadas or saltenas for lunch...so I drove out to Marcela's Bakery only to find out they are completely out. I'm told to come tomorrow, as though I had just missed the ferry off a remote island that makes only 1 trip a day. Bummed out, I started to head toward, a mini strip mall I passed that looked like it had some Pollo. Just beside there I see this bakery and decide to check it out instead.I ask the lady if they had empanadas or saltenas on the menu to which she replies yes. I order 1 chicken, 1 beef, and 1 pupusa for good measure. It turns out they are actually pasteles.Exactly what is the difference between a empanada, saltena, or pastel?I don't know.Do I care? Not really as long as it has kind of meaty filling. As I waited for my order (they said in 7 minutes) I looked over at the glass case where I see this limp pathetic looking...what I can only describe as a fried wonton...just laying there, and I began to regret my decision. Expecting to be very unimpressed I bit into this hot pocket and immediately my eyes lit up. Packed with a tasty punch I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be back for more of these pastales. I think I still prefer empanadas or saltenas, but this was a very good alternative.

I love the pupusas and baleadas! It's kind of hard to order here unless you speak Spanish. There's a strong language barrier, but the staff is really nice. I would order ahead because the food can take a little bit to come out if you're grabbing food to go. I haven't tried the pan dulce yet mostly because I want to know what each of them are and I don't speak Spanish. It all looks really good though. They also do custom cakes. Been here a couple times now and the food is consistently good.

The food and service is shit! Second time to this establishment- second time ordering and the food and waiting forever for it (took over 20 minutes to prepare that's after I asked the wait staff why it was taking so long). Also, counter staff only spoke Spanish and had to find an English speaker. Food finally arrived and the steak is cold and dry. There were about 5-6 locals who came in after and were served before me. Bottom line - as I've seen with most business owned in this segment in Alexandria City, if your not from around the neighborhood- don't expect to be served or if served, prepare to be ignored or served crap.

If I could choose to not give them a star I would, the worse customer service ever. The employees ignored me and laughed in my face and didn't want me toProvide me with the managers information and gave me a fake number.
