They saved the day! The speakeasy in the food hall that I traveled quite a bit to get to was closed, but they hadn't shared anything online about it. So I came here to collect myself and figure out my next move, and they were so generous and understanding of my situation. They brought me a surprise birthday dessert, handed me a belt to take pictures with, and sang me happy birthday. I'm guessing it was the fried ice cream -- it was vanilla in a fried cinnamon tortilla bowl. It was really good! And so were the drinks -- they have happy hour until 6. It wasn't what I had planned, but there's no denying their generosity and kindness. The restaurant is quite spacious, and I believe even has an outdoor area when the weather is nice. The bar is relatively small -- and I believe that happy hour is only there. It has an inviting color scheme and energy to it. I'll have to return to try their other food.

I stopped by Urbana for a quick lunch with a margarita. From the initial ambiance, atmosphere (the Dia de Los Muertos-inspired murals were kinda cool), the deliciousness of the margarita, and the bartender's service, I thought I was going to be up for a treat. The menu has a nice variety of items that looked pretty yummy on paper. The restuarant also has a few reasonably-priced lunch combo options. Personally, I went with a chicken taco and al pastor burrito combo. When the food came out to the table, I was quite impressed. However, my joy quickly turned into slight disappointment because I thought my dish (as well well as the the chips) were extremely salty. At first, I thought it was me, but the table near me also mentioned the saltiness of their chips. I guess I could have said something, but I was was running a bit late for my next engagement and did not have time to wait for another plate of food. Perhaps, if I'm in the area, I can give Urbano another shot.

I want to like this place. It's near where I live and I want it to succeed. It used to be foot. But recent visits have been disappointing on numerous levels. Slow service, mediocre food, and, well, just meh.

I stopped by Urbano for an early dinner last week. This location is attached to "The Heights"--a relatively new food incubator concept in Friendship Heights, which offers several dining options. The restaurant was relatively empty when I first arrived. Throughout my entire time there, the service was attentive and friendly. The food came out quickly and was tasty. On nice days, the indoor dining area flows naturally to the outdoor dining area via a retractable "garage-style" door that can be lifted to provide direct access to both areas and allow the outside air to flow freely into the restaurant. I'm definitely interested in coming back during a warmer sunny summer day after work for margaritas on the patio! Amex and InKind are accepted here. I used the latter to pay for my meal, and the entire process was seamless and hassle free.

Good food, casual ambiance, and nice staff, but the food didn't come out at once, and we had to ask multiple times for missing food items and utensils. Staff seemed reactive, and it wasn't even busy.

The staff were very friendly! The food is not authentic Mexican. It was good for what it was but I've had better Mexican. They give free chips and salsa but the salsa is mid.

I overheard the manager talking with the bartender about how she found bugs in the liquor bottles? Apparently they would crawl in overnight and were floating around in almost every bottle. Do NOT order liquor from here.

My co-workers and I had been here for Happy Hour Margaritas on several occassions and it was always good. My company had it's Holiday Party there and Everything was GREAT....the food, service and drinks were on Point! Everyday they have a special. My Favorite is Taco Tuesday, of course. Go to their website! Check out SUNDAY FUNDAY, Buy one Mimosa/Sangria get one FREE! Can't beat that!

The only good thing about this place would be the margaritas.. but thats it. I've always wondered why it always seems so empty here and now i know why, the food is not good. I ordered tacos, my tortillas were soggy and the chicken was very dry, and the rice tasted old, like they made it 7+hours prior and just kept it warm. The food here lacks flavor, authenticity, and freshness. Our server was attentive, which is the only reason i gave this an extra star and not just one.
