Food was pretty good. My fiance got the taco Tuesday deal that they had going on that day (unlimited beef or chicken tacos)I tried the crispy ground beef taco from her and it was pretty tasty. The shell was toasted to be like one big nacho.The server we had was very nice but made a lot of mistakes - from getting some of our orders wrong to charging us the wrong receipt. But they fixed all the mistakes so the customer service was good I'd say.Ambiance is cool, some booth seating and open square tables. Plenty of seating on a Tuesday night

Stopped in on a hot evening out in old town Alexandria - the air conditioning was kinder than any welcome wait staff could have given us. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end.All menu items are in the upper $10s, I know inflation has been hard but a single enchilada is not worth $18. Gotta pay the rent somehow I suppose, may as well charge the tourists.Reggaeton was playing extremely loudly and it was difficult to hear, even though we were rather far from the bar area.Either my taste buds were broken this night or the food was truly nondescript, but I couldn't tell the difference between the salsas, or between the al pastor, carnitas, and the beef. The cheese under the black beans was a great touch though, but nothing standout.After the waitress brought the check, she didn't come back for it. My partner used the restroom and after they were done, the waitress still hadn't shown up, so I had to go up and bring the bill directly to her.All in all, feels like a tourist trap, won't be back anytime soon. There's a niche this place fills, and it ain't for me.

Stopped by for a light dinner on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded but we were quickly seated (no wait) and provided chips and 2 types of salsa (with no explanation of what the salsas are). Salsas are mild and tasted the same, though I would've liked them more if they had more flavor or a kick to them.Prices on the menu are what you'd expect to pay when dining out I guess, but it's still a bit surprising that there was no item below $10 - not the appetizers or the sides! My partner and I decided to split the "combo" - $20 for small versions of the burrito, enchiladas, and chimichanga. It was a good value meal, as we both were full after finishing it. The food kind of tasted the same with no distinguishing flavors between the different types of meat we got (al pastor, chicken, carnitas). We had to ask for spicier salsa, which they delivered on (it was quite spicy). Service was fast in getting us our food, but was really slow in coming to get our check/credit card (our server was standing around at that point), so we had to go over to her to hand the check. As for the ambience, I kind of hated it lol. I'm not a fan of reggaeton and that's pretty much all they played as background music. The women's bathroom was also kind of grimy, with toilet paper strewn around and the main trash can overfilled with used paper towels.Overall, I probably wouldn't dine here again, as I don't live close enough to take advantage of their happy hour. There are much better Tex-Mex and Mexican places around the DMV.

If you're down near the water on King and want some tacos, this isn't a bad place to stop in. They have a nice size patio and the day was beautiful so we sat outside. Checking in, we saw that the inside had a nice size bar, many tables (which were empty because everyone wanted to be outside), and was nice and open.The hostess and the servers were great. Everyone was friendly, and pacing was good, particularly asking us whether we wanted additional drinks. The frozen margarita was good and refreshing. The elote had what seemed to be crumbled Doritos on it. I mean, that's how it tasted. They were flavorful but not amongst the really tasty elote that I'm used to. The chicken birria tacos (never had chicken birria before) were cooked well and were better when dipped. The black beans and the other accompaniments were good. I'd come back to try more things if I were already in this particular area.

I came to Urbano for happy hour. Yes I'm going to be that person that wants an explanation for what's happening on the menu. Happy Hour specials at Urbano are only available at the bar. They have a few different margarita options available. There's an additional charge for some of the happy hour margaritas. My drink was anWe were offered chips and salsa as well as a another type of salsa but no one explained what the other salsa was.I decided to go with the happy hour nachos with steak. (An additional charge for steak) The nachos were served a little differently then your typical order of nachos. The nachos were individually topped with beans, steak and cheese. I don't think I would order the nachos again. There was nothing crispy or crunchy about these nachos.

Pros: fast service, cute ambiance, good/average food!Cons: sort of "basic" food (if you will - nothing super special, not bad though), and I do think the drinks were perhaps watered down...? I am a lightweight and normally feel something after 1 drink. I drank a large margarita and felt nothing so that was a totally new experience for me, lol. Not sure if my partner and I will return actually, as I think you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere in terms of the flavor/quality of the food and strength of the alcohol!

The bartender raved about the birria so I switched my order from quesadillas to birria tacos. I was unimpressed. Birria tacos are my fave so I rate them hard every state I try them in. I honestly would rate the food 3 stars, but the great service/drinks/ambiance/location bring it up to 4 stars. He made me a passion fruit mocktail which was really tasty but too large to finish. Perfect location, comfortable bar to sit at solo even though it seems a place for pairs or groups so I can't say it's a place "for" singles to meet other singles but it's certainly going to be comfortable for you at the bar given the light environment, and friendly energy/friend groups or pairs. My friend and I enjoyed the time!Go, enjoy!! And take a stroll through the strip or neighborhood after :)

I'm from Texas and this was just okay Texmex. I got the halibut al pastor and it was a small taco with dry fish. The salsas were pretty good though. The other plates including quesadillas and enchiladas that my friends got were good portions.

A friend and I stopped for happy hour (which is only at the bar). We arrived around 5:30 pm on a Friday and the bar area only had a couple seats left. Our server came right over with some complimentary chips, salsa and a smoky mole sauce, which I couldn't stop eating. The red sangria was really good, but the lime margarita tasted extremely watered down. My friend ordered the Grilled Oysters, which she thought might be close to the chargrilled oysters you get in NOLA -they weren't even close! They were still mostly raw when she received them and only ate two. I asked for some hot sauce so I could finish them and they brought out three different sauces in a separated dish. I tried each one with a chip and they were really good. Very spicy but had a great flavor. Service was very good, but it seemed like we had multiple servers taking care of us!
