Never trust a book by it's cover...or in this case, by tinted windows. I have walked past Unplugged on a couple of occasions, but I was never included to visit. From my previous experiences, I always thought that when a bar has tinted windows (so dark that you cannot see inside), it's best to keep on moving. However, I could not have been more wrong regarding Unplugged. Since Unplugged is one of the few places in the area that is open after 9 pm, I decided to "plug" myself into the bar after visiting another local restaurant. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. From the outside, the bar looks pretty small. For me, I think this "illusion" was caused because the building is very narrow. However, the inside of the bar was way bigger than I ever thought it would be. Also, the bar even has patio seating in the bar (extra points). Since I previously visited another local bar before going to Unplugged, my visit was kind of short - i.e., "only" three cocktails. That said, I definitely will add this bar to my very short list of local, low-key Wheaton bars to visit during the week. From my understanding, the bar has happy hour specials until 8 pm that include food, beer and cocktails. Since it's a sports bar, Unplugged has several TVs with decent sound. Note: this place seems to be more of futbol/soccer type of sports bar. Although I did not order any happy hour beverages, I thought the pricing of the non happy hour drinks were very reasonable. Also, my bartender gave me a very generous pour of gin for my cocktail. Beside the generous pour, I thought the bartenders were pretty friendly and very social, which is wonderful for a sports bar. All and all, I'm glad that I took a leap of faith and gave Unplugged shot. I hope to be back in the near future.

In case you didn't know, Wheaton has a lot to offer. And one of them is this lovely Latin sports bar that's unassuming from the outside! It is way bigger than you would think -- I was genuinely shocked when I walked inside. The lighting was pretty dim, but the music was poppin' and the bar itself was almost full! I grabbed one of the few empty seats and looked over the menu. They have a great happy hour until 8 on weekdays including food and drink specials. The bartenders were really friendly, and I decided to order a rum and coke -- I wasn't hungry. Drink was great though!! With all the TV's around, I could definitely see myself returning just to watch some sports. The vibe is just right with that neighborhood feel and the people were cool.

Came here on a Friday night to celebrate one of my girlfriends birthday. The music was on point. We had a section reserved for us. When we arrived, we were seated in our section which was right in front of the dance floor. I was so hungry I had to order food. So I went with the nachos with Chicken. Now I thought it was because I was extra hungry that made them so good. But I shared, and everyone else agreed. The chicken with season very well. I'm very picky when it comes to bar food. But the food was very good here and so are the drinks. I'll definitely come back here. It was good vibes and everyone was cool! The first time I didn't take any pictures of my food because I ate it so fast. Lol!

Local sports bar in Wheaton. Good service and great drinks. Plenty of TVs to watch sporting events. Worth the visit especially during sport seasons.

First of all, this place was TOP TIER! They weren't lying when they said Latin DJ! They were both amazing , they played old dembow , old bachata , bad bunny , Ozuna . The service was amazing , the servers checked us a lot which I really appreciated. Super sweet server. The papussa was delicious , the chicken tacos were an 7/10 but I'm just spoiled from tacos in New York. We had green tea shots the entire time and it was our favorite thing ever. We will be coming back!

The great food of kantutas combined with a sports bar?! What's not to love?? I started with the tucumanas (one beef and one chicken). Both were delicious. These are some of my favorite empanadas anywhere around. Then I split the silpancho-- all the bit as good as at kantutua's if you ask me. It sucks that they don't offer the small size here though. Ask for the llajwa. Goes amazing on everything! Maria was our server. She's fun and friendly. Gave us the rundown on the new spot and what they're all about. There are a bunch of tvs to watch sports on and their touch tunes has a lot of updated songs. I heard for xmas they'll have salsa dancing. So come in and join!

I do not recommend. They will literally try and steal your money in front of your eyes. Bartenders will take your money and think it was their tip and argue with you about it. The light skin dude to be exact. And their waitress tried charging $40 in tips. Oh wait, how do 3 dishes come out to almost $100? That's crazy. Not even a high end restaurant would charge that much. And if you post a negative review anywhere else, you'll get bashed for it by their employees.. (Berto) To be exact. This business is not being ran by the right people. It's crazy, this was the only spot I would go to in Wheaton... Not anymore

This is place is fun, drinks are good and they have a good selection of food. It's not too fancy, so you can definitely go in dressed quite casual if you'd like. They have outdoor seating with large umbrellas and outdoor music for those warm weather days. The servers are very friendly which is a huge deal. Whether your intentions are to meet up with friends for happy hour, watching a game or dancing the night away. Unplugged meets the expectations of a chill and fun atmosphere.

Finally got to check this place out after driving past it so many times. Located right off Georgia Ave, it's pretty accessible, just a few blocks from the metro. I was looking for a good spot to catch the NFL playoffs and they had it on almost all the TVs around the bar area. The first thing I noticed was mixed crowd, pretty cool diverse mix with young and old. The music reflected it, bachata, new school hip-hop, and electro. Juan didn't waste a second to greet us and help us find a good seat. I knew this was Kantuta's sister restaurant so I had to try the silpancho, which was excellent. Very good sized portion. My mother ordered the carne asada which was a little saltier than she would have liked it. Overall the food was pretty good. The other bartender, Maria, was extremely nice and pleasant. She told us about their Wednesday salsa nights and other events they have throughout the week. Definitely will be back.
