UDC Farmer's Market is located on the campus of UDC (University of the District of Columbia) every Saturday from May to November. It's a small farmer's market that sits right next to the Van Ness-UDC Metro Station.Visited UDC Farmer's Market three times this summer. As always, the produce was fresh and plentiful. Lots to choose from...okra, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeño peppers, just to name a few. However, some of the produce is a little overpriced. Peaches at $3.99 per pound?Talk about sticker shock. On top of that, the Amish stand has been MIA. Disappointing. The Amish stand had the best apple pies!Anyhoo, I enjoy chewing the fat with the friendly vendors. Also, I like the variety of vendors here. You can find everything from handmade jewelry and empanadas to homemade bread. There's even a vendor that sells fresh mocktails. All in all, a decent farmer's market. Three stars!

Thia farmer's market closed for the season yesterday, and I have to say I'm going to miss it. It's a relatively small vendor selection, with 3-4 selling produce most weekends and others selling baked goods and homemade wares like soaps and candles. Everyone is friendly, meaning sellers as well as other shoppers, and if it's not necessarily the most amazing selection I've seen, it's always a good variety and reliable. The part I will miss most though is that it's one of the city's dropoff sites for food waste/compost. I'm going to have to make an extra trek in the winter to Dupont Circle for that. Since moving back to the area, the return of this farmer's market next spring might actually be the first thing I've had to look forward to.

Right outside the Van Ness Metro Station! Small farmers market but still full of a range of vendors with lots and lots of produce! Kale, romaine, beans, blueberries, strawberries, eggplant, squash, corn, and much much more! There's even an Amish bakery booth where they have some reasonably priced goodies including whoopie pies for $1!There is street parking around the block and also a garage across the street for $11 for an hour of parking. Come check it out! They're there every Saturday 8am to 2pm.

This is a great little farmer's market, easily accessible from the metro, loved and frequented by all of us locals within walking distance of it.Many options for purchasing starter plants/herbs for your garden, endless fresh fruit and veggie options, other food you can take to go. My favorites are Mary and Dukes, who has amazing Russian food (especially the honey cake and meat pirojki) and the Amish stand- their baked goods are wonderful (whoopie pies of all kinds!)Highly recommend you visit!

I've been feeling disgruntled about the Dupont and Penn Quarter farmers markets. Sure the baked goods and pizzas are great, but what about the fresh produce for which we go to the market in the first place? I was so happy when the Van Ness market opened up today. Fresh and reasonably priced produce just steps away. I can't really ask for more. I got a big bunch of rainbow chard, spinach and strawberries for $10. And yes, the strawberries are weirdly shaped and uneven in color, as they should be! I'm looking forward to going here on Saturdays. They are open from 8am-2pm.

Doña Rosa have the best tacos in time. It is a shame we can only get them on Saturday. All the vendors have fresh veggies and fruits. It is cheaper to shop at the farmer market for fresh produce than Giant. Also there is a compost center where you can drop off your stuff.

Small farmers market with stuff that really matters..tons of farm fresh veggies and fruit at prices way less than the DuPont one..also like il that its not chi chi... We get almost all our veggies here now..I would like the organizers to certify the farmers though (check into their farms etc so that one knows you are buying from the farmer and not a aggregator of produce)

This is my preferred farmer's market. It's small, friendly, and not full of crowds or boutique organic goat cheese sellers.

I really like that this farmers market is within walking distance. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very fresh. I bought the most beautiful blackberries one Saturday just because they looked so good. I don't even like blackberries!
