Still love our local place. Had another great lunch with a friend. Sundays is brunch menu. My friend had the chicken and waffles. She really loved it. I had the handmade gnocchi and sautéed spinach. Lovely as always. Then to round things out, the Creme brûlée. All fresh and all made in-house. Service was on point. Busy all day Sunday- reservations are a great idea here.

Whenever we want fresh pasta and good Italian food in our area, this is where we go. We really love the flavors and seasoning is on point. The burrata was an excellent start with plenty to get your tummy going. Next I had a deliciously cooked and well-balanced lasagna with a good portion that was just enough. Dessert the chocolate cake was a bit too rich for me although tasty. I preferred the yummy chocolate chip cookies! They were so good without being too sweet. They were slightly crunchy on the outside with a soft inside with nicely baked chocolate chips. We sat outside on a cold night (32 degrees) and even with blankets and heaters it was really cold. So if you are enjoying their winter lounge just dress warmly on the lower half of your body to fully enjoy the experience. We enjoyed a movie outside with the kids. It's a deliciously consistent restaurant with extremely attentive and friendly staff where everyone is willing to help out. Check it out and yes it's worth spending like 20-30 minutes to drive there and a lot of people like to get a little dressed up and ear inside for special occasions!

Trattoria Villagio is a Clifton classic! It's always busy here, even if you have a reservation I would anticipate waiting an extra 10-15 minutes. There are two floors for indoor seating and a large back patio for outdoor seating. Our server was quick and attentive, and everyone working was so nice.We started our meal with the calamari and mussels in a white wine sauce. The calamari was pretty standard, nice and crispy with two sauces. I didn't care much for the aioli, but the marinara was a good complement. The mussels are also a good appetizer choice, I particularly liked the sauce and the bread it came with. I ordered the cavatelli arrabbiata and it was my favorite dish of the night! The flavors are well-balanced, I wish it was spicier but this level would work for most people. I would definitely come back here!

I came here because of all of the great reviews on Yelp. Sadly, I am disappointed. The food was mediocre, and although fresh, it was not flavorful. My rigatoni alla vodka tasted bland with no flavor to speak of except tomato with no spices. The Buratta was nothing special and I could have easily bought the same thing at Whole Foods. The bruschetta tomatoes and bread were fresh but the flavor was bland. The tiramisu was the only thing I ended up enjoying. The flavor was there and the ingredients proportional, however I've definitely had better. The chocolate torte was ok; it tasted more like a brownie to me than a torte and was so surprised I thought they had brought me the wrong dessert. The service was slow, although we were seated at the bar due to reservations being needed or a two hour wait. The prices are way too expensive for the lack in flavor and quantity. They seem to treat this place as a high end restaurant (with their waits, reservations, and presentation) though I would equate it to just a tad better than Olive Garden, albeit overpriced. The atmosphere was uninviting and I felt I wasn't welcome there in casual clothing. There was no great effort to help us and I felt mostly ignored; though maybe that's on me for sitting at the bar. TLDR: The food was fresh but overpriced and bland; just a regular restaurant dressing up as high end and classy. The service was just Ok.

Went in for lunch today and we had the best experience in a long time, at any restaurant. The food was great. We ordered several things including pasta and pizza. The restaurant was clean and had a nice ambiance. The best thing about our lunch was the service. Savannah made our visit special from beginning to end. She was fantastic!

We have been Trattoria Villagio several times now for brunch or late lunch. We enjoy the food and the service - the staff has always been fantastic every time we visit. They also have a good wine and cocktail selection. As much as I would love to give them five stars, I just couldn't shake the fact that our table was wobbly our last visit and before that, our space was too small for us to comfortably dine. For food, I really enjoy the Shrimp Badda-Bing and Villagio Burrata. We also loved the Tagliatelle Bolognese and Salmon Piccata from the lunch menu. For dessert, do not miss the Seven Layer Chocolate Cake. I would love to come back but hopefully be seated somewhere comfortable. Maybe they should have slightly bigger tables?
