If you are driving around trying to find this place, you won't be able to. I know this because I was having a hard time myself! For your information, they're located INSIDE of Whole Foods. Walk to the back area and look for a bar. There you'll find most if not all the bar stools occupied with people feasting on fresh oysters, fish, and a variety of fresh seafood cooked to order. For me, I wait for Fridays where the oysters are special priced and flown in from the coast. The fried oysters are perfectly breaded and crispy. Fish flakes and moist, the broth is rich and flavorful, and lastly prices are reasonable! My go to place everytime I am in the area!!

Soft shell crabs! Perfectly lightly dusted and fried. Love putting malt vinegar on my fries, too. The crabs are seasonal, so don't wait if you like them.

Located in Whole Foods next to the fish market, Today's Catch is one of our favorite go-to lunch spots! We've dined here several times and have done to-go orders (placed the order and then went around and did our grocery shopping). My husband and I are big fans of the "Build Your Own" where you select your choice of seafood (wild caught and farm raised) and style (sesame miso, lemon caper, Baja, and southern) which also comes with two sides (rice, salad, potatoes, fries, or coleslaw. They even have a kids menu with fish and chips that our kids enjoy and devour! Additionally, they also appetizers such as raw and fried oysters, fried shrimp, sandwiches, and other fried seafoods. I've also heard rave reviews about their bouillabaisse! If you're dining in, you can also partake in alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. When dining in, you can sit down and they'll take your order for you. You'll receive a receipt which you'll pay upfront, where to go orders are also placed. Service is always friendly! Sometimes it takes a little more time to have our orders prepared, but that's usually when it's busy.

This Whole Foods has a seafood bar in the store. It is in the back near the seafood counter. There are counter seats as well as a few tables. The food is fabulous and prepared in the same area. There is a variety of seafood to choose from prepared in different styles. The bouillabaisse is very popular also. The prices are fair, the service is great and there are generous pours of wine and draft beer.

First...this hidden gem is in the back of the Whole Foods Market near the meat and seafood department. WOW, I was hungry and created my own combo which ended up being a little more expensive but well worth it. I ordered the fried oyster appetizer and the pan seared scallops with French fries and coleslaw. While I was waiting for my food I was checking out what the other diners were having and it all looked good. You can also get seafood from the seafood counter and they will prepare it for you. The seating is all high/bar style seating so not for handicap or inseam challenged individuals (short) like me. I hate to have my feet dangling...but fear not because they have a section just pass the cash registers up front where there is also a bar and maybe pizza where folks were gathered to watch the football game. I will definitely return and try something else.

Today's Catch was a great surprise and even better value located in Whole Foods right next to the seafood counter. I ordered the fried shrimp plate which is very good. At least 10 jumbo size juicy shrimp perfectly fried and seasoned with french fries hand cut. It also comes with coleslaw and a special kind of sauce that they make. I myself only needed the lemon squeeze, and Cholula. All of the servers were very pleasant and friendly. You order at the counter and sit at your table or the bar around the cooking area. Sometimes you will have to go to the counter once your food once your food is ready, when not so busy they will bring it to you. Either way you're in for a delightful treat. The pictures on this post are of my second serving. I was having such a good time people watching that I had to order another plate of shrimp. Couldn't beat the price, great value for the shrimp being so fresh. At $15 it was a lot less than they could've charged. Next time I'm in the area I will be sure to stop at least once.

Whole Foods in Fair Lakes is money...huge shop with numerous prepared foods and grocery options...no comparison vs. the Reston location which is closer to us but we just never really go. To top it off, they have the Today's Catch Seafood Venue offering super fresh and tasty seafood dishes. As a good friend says 'you never get a bad meal here'. The wife was a bit skeptical...but...yes, everything we had was top notch. Fried Oysters for $6! Cod with sesame miso with 2 sides for $16! The Bouillabaisse comes with generous amounts of seafood with an excellent tomato broth. Fish & Chips is fried nicely (a bit greasy) but the fish is super fresh. If you're looking for the full restaurant vibe with servers meeting your every whim, this isn't the place for you...but...if you want no frills, super fresh seafood at very reasonable prices you gotta make a trip to Whole Foods Fair Lakes. If they were to open a Today's Catch in the Reston store i'd be a regular...no doubt!

My kiddos love the fried calamari here. Sadly, the prices have gone up to reflect inflation. The apps are now $8 vs $6 for the same great taste.

This small seafood "restaurant" is in Whole Foods Market near the seafood counter (makes sense.) I've dropped by even when I don't need to grocery shop! The food is cooked to order, and despite that, the service is usually quite quick, but once or twice I've felt that they may have forgotten my order. I love their fried oysters over a Caesar or house salad. The batter is light and not overly greasy. The portions are generous. Their fries are really good, freshly made with unpeeled potatoes. And they offer malt vinegar as a condiment, yum! The tables look and feel like they could use a good cleaning, so I prefer to sit at the counter. (Which also helps to prevent the forgotten order problem I mentioned.) One cool option: they will prepare any fish that you buy from their seafood counter for $7. I've never tried the service, because I like the options at Today's Catch, but I can see why it would be appealing.
