Drove past this place and decided to give it another try, some years later.Free parking Infront of and surrounding the buildingCame in around 4pm and the place was really dark. Like, only lit up by the TV screens and some lightening around the bar. I had trouble reading the menu lolThere was just me and another customer, and 2 bartendarsI ordered a Strawberry maragrita. I wanted it on the rocks but the bartender didn't hear me and made it frozen. $10. It was still good, and a lot.I got the Carne Asada. Came out piping hot and was delish. I ended up taking the rest home.For the wait at the bar, I was also given chips and salsaThere are quiet a few TV's. A soccer game was being played in spanish while I was there.

Great local Tex Mex cafe. Stopped in on a Tuesday around 1:30. Place was empty, but I was seated promptly. Ordered the enchilada plate. It was delicious. Space is clean and roomy as well. Great experience overall!

Should be 0 stars. Horrible service, extremely rude employees. We sat at a bar table for 15 minutes while waitresses repeatedly walked by, looked right at us and ignored us. We were very patient since the restaurant was sort of busy (only about half full though). We tried to smile and politely get their attention but got no greeting, no menus, no sort of acknowledgement at all. We walked to the bar to try to order a drink and the bartenders made a conscious effort to ignore us while chatting with other patrons at the bar. Eventually we moved to a bar seat where one bartender (lady in a white shirt, hair pulled back) was cutting limes right in front of us. We asked her if we could please order a drink when she had a moment. She looked right at us and then went back to cutting limes. We asked if we had done something to offend her and she just said "no English" and walked away. So I guess they won't serve non-Spanish speaking customers? We finally got a beer from someone else who also clearly didn't want to serve us. At this point we tried to leave but had to wait another 15 minutes for the check while they ignored us some more. We were there for almost an hour and never even came close to being able to order food and we clearly weren't welcome even though we had been nothing but polite and extremely patient. Worst and rudest service I've ever seen anywhere in my life.

Diet coke was bland & tasted like water so i ordered a canned & IT WAS ALSO BLANNED, also NO refills & a $70 platter had enough meat for maybe 2 people also they only give 2 tortillas per table & the chips were cold, worst restaurant experience ever.

This is the place to go for a quick bite. Very tasty food and pleasant ambiance. The service is usually fast. My kids love this place.The only negative thing, if any, is the loud music.

It's clearly a front. First off nothing against the service because it was 10/10, the waitress was super lovely checked in regularly. However, everything else was a weird mess. The food was all half cooked and the DJ was blasting music at Friday DC club levels at 8pm on a Wednesday night in Rockville (like it seemed like he was actively trying to empty the place out, they didn't even have a dance floor it was tables and chairs everywhere like a traditional restaurant so I didn't understand why they even had a dj?). There were 6 people in the entire restaurant and I couldn't hear the person right next to me talking at all. We asked to turn the volume down a bit at one point and there was no change. Then we got the bill and the prices were insane for the quality and the volume level. As an unclaimed business that actively alienates customers and still seems to thrive during the pandemic, it definitely seems like a front.

Food was bland...got Uber eats. Portion of meat is fairly small for the price. Guac tasted old

Okay so I have to set the record straight here. I personally love Tijuana Mexican Cafe, but you have to understand what type of place this is and thats why I think there are so many bad reviews. This an authentic locals, hangout-spot that is almost a nightclub/danceclub at night. There is a (deafeningly loud) DJ with neon strobe lights at night and guests will get up and dance to the music after they've had a few drinks. Understand because this place is authentic if you don't speak Spanish you probably will feel like somewhat of an outsider but I am not a Spanish speaker and have always been treated with respect and had a great experience here. Honestly the best Mexican food I've had on the east coast. I recommend trying the takeout if you just want delicious food because honestly the music can be overwhelming if you just want to eat. But if you would like a fun night out, and you are ready to appreciate other cultures with an open mind, you will enjoy your night and meal here. Delicious authentic food that is good everytime! Love the steak and ceviche.
