Super underrated. Drunken noodles are killer. Obviously a great place for takeout but do yourself a favor and saddle up to the bar and enjoy your meal in person you won't regret it.

Not my favorite Thai restaurant in the area but they do have decent outdoor seating. The inside of the restaurant is spacious. Was not busy at all when we arrived for dinner on a Friday evening. The Fried Calamari and Papaya Salad with Shrimp were tasty. The Street Food Pad Thai and Pla Lad Erik were underwhelming.

This is a mediocre Thai spot... wasn't too happy about the food I got.. dumplings seem warmed up in microwave and salad I had was missing the hit that I usually get at other spots. Don't get me wrong the place has potential.. also if outside seating.. Also inside has a lot of seating including a big bar. The drinks weren't bad at all it prob the time of day I went. Which was a Sunday. I'll return again to see if there is a difference.. oh the staff was laid back and attentive.

The Thai food is excellent and the service was great. Huge portions!!!!! Nice atmosphere inside. We were surprised the cashew shrimp was a little spicy. Otherwise everything was great.

This is thai food? The pad see eew lacks that distinct high smoke flavor and the seasoning just isn't there and way too sweet and salty compared to others. Although i appreciated the calm ambiance of an early dinner, the flavors just aren't there. Service is also good but isn't worth going back. This doesn't seem to be run by thai people so i am skeptical of the recipes being used here.

We were in DC to see the Cherry Blossoms and wanted to find somewhere up near Adams Morgan for dinner. We're so glad we found The Regent Thai! The food was delicious and the people are so friendly. My wife had the Drunken Noodles (she asked for it not to be too spicy) and I had Cashew Chicken, but with regular chicken, not fried. Both were very good. I had a glass of Knob Creek bourbon and my wife had a Lemongrass Martini (which she loved). It was a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded (for our 6:30pm reservation). If you're in the area, you need to try this restaurant.

Solid 3* showing. I enjoyed eating out on their patio on a beautiful spring DC day. Good service. Give them a try.I tried the Papaya Salad and Green Curry. Both were tasty. Lots of good flavors. The Papaya Salad had a nice spice kick while the Green Curry was mild. I enjoyed both. Happy they were willing to add broccoli and string beans to my order. I love veggies. If you live in the neighborhood, give them a try.

I was visiting from out of town and needed some dinner on my way back to my Airbnb. I ordered takeout online from The Regent because it had decent reviews and was on the walk back.I got pad Thai with tofu and veggie rolls. I don't know if I had an off day or other reviewers haven't had good pad Thai but this was not great. Not the worst I've had but definitely not the best. First of all, there was hardly any egg or anything else in it except tofu and noodles. Also is was SO SPICY. I ordered medium spice because I do like a little kick but this was way too much. My mouth was on fire and my lips were burning. It really took away any pleasure from the meal because I was downing water for my burning mouth and having to get Kleenex for my running nose. Not the experience I was going for with my meal and I've never had "medium spice" be that hot.Veggie rolls were okay. Basically raw veggies wrapped up. Not exactly what I was expecting but it was fine. Logically, I wasn't given utensils even tho I requested them on the order. And the confirmation email doesn't have a pick up time which is strange. I gave it 20 minutes or so, to allow enough time. Food was okay but I wouldn't order from here again when I'm back in town.

You know you're in for a treat when you see the owner tutoring their children on one of the dining tables. That's how you know when the restaurant is legit. We came in on an early Wednesday evening and the restaurant was wide open. Usually that's not a good sign but we stuck to the dinner plan because of all the positive reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a bunch of Thai decor and props. The menu is similar to any Thai restaurant. They have all the staples like pad Thai or pineapple fried rice. Not much of a beer selection but they do have a full bar if you want a cocktail. On this occasion I settled with the Drunken Noodles and I was not disappointed. The dish was pack with flavors. It was a little sweet and spicy but it was not overpowering. They served a generous portion as well. Another big plus is everything came in a timely manner and our waiter provided great customer service. I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area or if I'm craving Thai food and want it delivered.

The Regent is an excellent place to go for food and hospitality. The new owners have done a great job making the restaurant a very nice place to enjoy great food and the service is incredible. The atmosphere was veryhumble and kind in a difficult time. I will definitely return for more of the love i felt.Arnell Byrd
