The Old Fire Station #3

What a cool pub to visit! There are potent libations, which I rarely consume these days, and a plethora of bar food at this long time establishment in old town Fairfax City. This used to be a volunteer fire station way back when, and inside the bar there are pictures of the historic place. My go to orders are the Heineken Zeros. There are food specials too, like $0.50 wings on Sundays during certain times. If you're in the GMU area, or walking around old town Fairfax Main Street and University Drive, make a stop to check it out!

I was in Fairfax and got hungry for a burger. Quick search and The Old Fire Station #3 came up. Ok, into the GPS. I find the place and have trouble parking. Everything has a sign on it....nothing I could find for the restaurant. I end up parking in a spot that expires at 4 pm with towing. I grab a seat at the bar and order a Tony's lager. It's 3 pm on a Monday and only a few customers are in the place. I decide on the bacon cheeseburger sans tomato. The beer is tasty and cold. I'm thinking it's a local brewery because it's really fresh. The burger comes pretty quick. I order another lager. Burger is perfectly cooked. I think it's grilled. Fresh toppings. Just what I was looking for. French fries are crispy, hot and good. They need ketchup. Quick time check, I have about 25 minutes before my car is towed. I finish the burger, the last of the fries and wash it down with the end of the beer. They have lots of notifications with events in the bar, food specials, drink specials. Definitely a place to visit with friends or family for a meal or a drink. Too bad the parking is so bad. I guess the city doesn't really care about businesses in favor of towing fees. Maybe I'll uber it next time.

Such a great neighborhood bar! I have been going here for years. I love the cozy atmosphere, and all of the staff is so friendly and gets to know you. Everything on the menu is great, but my favorite is the gyro sandwich. When you're here, you feel like family. This is a great social venue. Great for coffee and some lunch on a lazy weekend or great for groups when they have karaoke night on Tuesdays and Fridays 9pm-1am. Their sound and light system are so good!Updated the Specials, Events & Happy Hour info:Family friendly. Free parking. Bathrooms are always clean. Live music. Poker night Wednesdays and Thursdays 7-11pm. Mondays have Trivia 7-9pm, half off Seafood and wine bottle special. Happy Hour drink specials Monday-Friday from 4-7pm! One dollar beers and two dollar rail drinks on some nights!! Can't beat that! There's also an upstairs available for private groups or private events. It's so cool with a thunder and cloud-like ceiling with special effects (Harry Potter ceiling) and usually has DJ dance music upstairs on Fridays & Saturdays. I am so glad this place was revived!

This gem in Fairfax is just what I was looking for when I had my two year old daughter to feed and also wanted a good meal for myself at the same time. John the manager provided great service. I had the gyro which was excellent and went for the homemade Mac and cheese also excellent. My daughter loved the chicken tenders and she enjoyed watching the game on the big screens. Support this small business. You won't regret it.

4/5, December 2023. This was our first visit to this iteration of this bar. While it was largely similar to the previous version it's quite obvious that they spent a good amount of time and money putting some polish on the place. The service was good and the food was a significant step up from the past concept while still fitting broadly into the same mold of a local "dive" bar. The menu had a bit more of a Mediterranean spin to it hut but they mentioned it will be evolving over time starting soon. Definitely a solid improvement.

Fun place for drinks, music and dinner. Fun atmosphere in downtown Fairfax. Salads were fresh, but missing a couple ingredients. Server was friendly but a little off on quality. Seemed to get a couple things mixed up on order. By the time my meal arrived, chicken and fries were cool. Don't know if it was a kitchen problem or a server problem. Food was good for bar food, but I would rate it 3 stars if compared to a full service restaurant. Prices were reasonable. We visited on Karaoke night which was a lot of fun.

Allison is pure delight! I think I've found my little hide away bar. Karaoke night is hilarious and definitely a pick me up if you need it.

Went in with 7 of my friends, we all were planning on going into to have a drink. Heard about this place through many of our friends at mason but now we are just going to tell them never come to firehouse again. Told us that our ids were fake and would not serve us. Was very rude about it considering we are all actually 21 and over. We were the only people in the entire restaurant which we probably should have taken as a sign not to go in. I can see why they lose so many customers. My advice - get an id scanner and a server with a brain!

Three out of seven 21 years old were denied service at the bar because the ID's are out of state. Don't come to this bar, regardless of age, they will deny service. the bar was completely empty on a saturday night. I have eaten here before as well and the food is TERRIBLE the shrimp tacos tasted like they had been roasting in the sun for a week. Was hoping to give them a second chance with their drink but never got the chance. service was very rude about denying us.

This, my consistent go to karaoke venue has good food! We celebrate Fridays here!Service is reasonable and the folks are friendly!
