We stayed at the Ritz during our trip to D.C./NYC. We were in D.C. for only one day and we spent most of that time at this bar. The service you get at the Ritz is impeccable. Every staff member is incredibly personable and go out of their way to make sure you are being taken care of.The bartenders were awesome. We struck up various conversations about sports, food, and the history of Washington D.C. as well as the best things to do in the city. The bartenders recommended we go to Filomena for dinner and it was the best recommendation for food I have ever received. It's my new favorite Italian restaurant and the best meal of my 2 week trip. The drinks were crisp and refreshing. The bar is full service. They'll gladly customize drinks to your liking. The pours are very generous as well. You pay a premium at the Ritz, but it is reflected in the service and care you receive while being a guest here. The atmosphere of the Lobby Lounge is perfect. Highly recommend stopping in for a drink whether you're a guest, or not.

This place never disappoints. The entire staff is professional, accommodating and friendly. The drinks are well crafted. As soon as you walk in the staff opens the door each time to an amazing decorated hotel lounge. The lounge staff makes you feel welcomed immediately. My girlfriends now bring their important date nights here. Melissa and Chris are our favorite bartenders. Omar is our favorite server. We come back very often. One of the best bars in DC.

I had the pleasure of coming to the Ritz Carlton a few weeks ago for a fundraiser dinner and Board of Trustees meeting for a nonprofit that I have been involved with for a number of years. This event is the premier award ceremony for our group, and the Ritz did not disappoint as a host venue. We spent most of the morning in meetings, and every conference room was well stocked with snacks, drinks, coffee, tea, writing paper and pens, and any amenity that was requested. During our down time, we spent time in the lounge and were well attended to by their friendly staff. We also happened upon a cute little hot chocolate station-mini marshmallows included! For the awards ceremony and dinner, we were seated in the ballroom downstairs. It was decorated beautifully, exactly as our organization pictured. The menu included seared scallops as the first course, braised beef short ribs with a corn & bell pepper succotash, and an incredible banana pudding for dessert. Altogether, the event was a success and much of it was owed to the Ritz Carlton for their accomodations. Hope to be back next year!

Some things, like watching a movie or having sex, should--if possible--not be done alone.Drinking is not one of them.Drinking alone happens all the time--even to normal people. For instance, I came home yesterday and, with a home-cooked meal, had a Sam Adams Oktoberfest. However: sometimes the soul craves something more than the mundane. Sometimes a man feels like putting on a tie, going out, and having a good time at a place that is... not McFadden's (West End, DC). And sometimes a man might feel like having a drink or two alone at a bar, just like a character out of a novel or movie. In the interests of NOT looking like a down and out drunk, however, it's imperative to choose a nice bar--a bar like the one at the Ritz-Carlton, Washington, DC.Crystal glasses. Leather seats. Clean bars. Perfect low lighting. Great service. A bartender that calls you Mr. ___________ and knows when exactly to ask you for another drink.I had an Americano (made of Campari), then I had a dirty martini. Excellent. Then, friends arrived and we made it a small party. Girls in dresses; guys buttoned-up. Tanqueray Ten and tonic. A Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.About fifty dollars later, I was riding a substantial but sophisticated buzz. Leaving the Ritz--tie loosened, shirt cuffs rolled up--the faint summer humidity and smell of the city greeting me, I called it a night.

My new favorite Bar/Lounge in DC. Whether you're looking for a quick cocktail, or a full on experience, Quadrant Bar & Lounge fits all of your needs. We went to see what all the hype was about, and we understood it real quick! We ordered their house Gin & Tonic and that was what I stuck with all night. I didn't need to try anything else. My husband ordered their Old Fashion and that was just so cool! Fire and stirring.... you have to see it with you're own eyes. It was an experience I surely won't forget! I catch myself daydreaming about that Gin & Tonic. Can't wait to go back!

I was reading this Huffington Post article about the cherry blossom festival and it mentioned afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz Carlton. I thought, "Perfect! I love afternoon tea. And what can be better than a cherry blossom themed afternoon tea special?" Reading that article made me want to go immediately, so we went last night and decided that even though we may not be able to do afternoon tea, we could at least get the unique Sakura tea offered in the Lobby Lounge as it mentions on their website. There were a few logistical problems with getting the Sakura tea. We wanted to check with Ritz Carlton to ensure that they still offered the Sakura tea before we drove over. Unfortunately, the first call led to them hanging up on us (hopefully accidentally). The second call led us to believe that they were only serving the tea special at the Westend Bistro, not the Lobby Lounge. We headed over to the Westend Bistro, where we asked a server who promptly led us to the Lobby Lounge instead, stating that the Lounge was where they offer the tea. So we chose some comfy seats and asked the server in the Lounge, who said they weren't serving the tea. We were a little annoyed at this point of being mistakenly led back and forth, and we almost left. However, our server went to get his manager, who came over and said that she was pretty sure she had the right ingredients to brew the tea and that it would take just a few minutes. So we opted to stay and ordered a few appetizers and entrees. My boyfriend ordered the Mediterranean Mezze for us to share and the French onion soup and cobb salad for himself. I ordered the salmon sliders. +Mediterranean Mezze ($14, consisted of hummus, eggplant dip, olives, and toasted pita)+French onion soup ($11)+Cobb salad ($16 small salad, $23 large)+Salmon sliders ($16 for two, comes with a side of fries, sweet potato fries, or side salad)The manager came out personally with Sakura tea and said that it was on the house and apologized for the inconvenience. The Sakura tea is a custom blend especially brewed by Ritz Carlton for the cherry blossom season. It's served in a traditional Japanese tetsubin, or cast iron, teapot and cups. The tea had notes of bergamot, black currant, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, vanilla, white musk, and of course, cherry blossom flowers. It was floral but its floral presence is not overwhelming. Very refreshing.Service was wonderful. Our server chatted with us briefly after we finished and again, apologized for the tea situation and comped it for us. He said that we were the third couple that day who requested the tea and this time, he didn't want to disappoint so he went to get his supervisor to obtain the ingredients and make the tea. We were very appreciative. Fantastic service. He also mentioned that they will be closing the Lounge for a couple of months starting in June to renovate. I think the Lounge is beautiful as it is - love the deep wood, comfy and spaced out seats and tables, and the overall luxurious atmosphere. Hopefully, the new renovations will keep some of that ambiance. Lobby Lounge hours: Sunday - Thursday: 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday & Saturday: 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

We had a couple meals and drinks here and it was just ok. I think they overcharged us but didn't argue it. We were bored one night and they actually gave us a board game which we played at the bar, so that was different.

$25 GLASS of red wine. REALLY. And not even a Jose Andres to go with it. LOUD bar area, disappearing waitresses. I could go on but why try when they don't. I guess this is the case when you have a hotel audience held relatively captive by the DC winter. Never again.
