The Italian Store - Lyon Village

Ive been coming for over 10 years now. Pizza and subs are good. I love their egg salad and italian subs. Great place to buy speciality food/gourmet items from Italy. A bummer the Bombolini doesn't taste the same, it used to taste so good and they even won an award for it some years ago. Please bring it back like it used to be! LolThis is pretty much a carry out. It gets busy during the afternoon. No where to sit but outside and limited bar seats inside to the front of store only.Customer service has changed greatly, not to say it's bad but it definitely feels more rushed and more stressed than it used to be.

I might have a certifiable addiction to The Italian Store. My addiction began when my credit card was stolen and the thief went there four times in two days. After experiencing it for myself, I can see why. The sandwiches are just that good. The bread is always fresh, the ingredients are high quality, and every bite is packed with so My favorite sandwich here is the Capri which is loaded with a million meats including prosciutto, Genoa salami, provolone, and spicy capicola. Because I'm greedy, I always add pepperoni and extra sauce on top of everything it already comes with which honestly takes it to the next level! The only reason I am giving four instead of five stars is that I wish you could customize sandwiches in-store instead of having to order online or call ahead. Sometimes I just want to walk in and tweak my order without extra steps. That said, I keep coming back because the food is too good to resist. If you love a great sandwich, this place is a must-visit.

FROM A JERSEY GIRL THAT KNOWS GOOD SUBSThese are...meh. During lunch, they have a lot of their popular subs pre-made so you can just grab and go; which is nice for convenience but I think it takes away from the freshness factor of the sandwich. I'd like to go back and see what a sub tastes like when it's made to order. The store itself is small and cramped, but it's not like you'll be spending a lot of time inside of it anyways.

One of the most slept on Italian Markets in the DMV area beloved by locals for decades. The moment you step into the door you'll be greeted not only by the friendly staff but by the delightful cheeses, wine, and deli cuts of meat! It can get a bit busy especially on weekends but don't hesitate to ask for help. They have sandwiches ready to grab and go otherwise you can order ahead if you want it customized. They also make one of the best pizzas in town.

Great sandwich shop! After living in the area for 10+ years I finally gave this place a try and it did not disappoint. Sandwich was fresh and was a quick option for lunch. Staff is very friendly and answer any questions you have.

Amazing store with Italian brands, wine, pastas, bread and pastries. I liked the pastry I bought and the variety of Italian foods. My friend said their holiday food is excellent.

Best place to grab Italian wines at reasonable prices from IGT (Table wine) to DOCG. During various times on the weekend, they have wine tasting. You can also get the hard to find Kimbo coffee (Naples) here. More recently, I started ordering the New York slices and have grown my appreciation for them. Always customer service focused.

I got the Muffaletta and was a little disappointed with the flavor of the sandwich. On the bright side, the Italian Store was very generous with the amount of meat in the sandwich, however it just felt like I was biting mouthfuls of pork with a tiny bit of olive for the sandwich. The olive oil dressing was not very flavorful and they were unable to accomodate my request for sweet peppers on the side.We ordered take out and I would advise people to order ahead of time since the estimated time it took to make our 2 sandwich order was 40 minutes. On the bright side our order was available early when we went to the counter to inquire about it.The store itself is cute and has a wide selection of wines, cheeses, and cured meats. It also has olives and italian snacks. I would say it's a bit expensive as we saw about 12oz of fingerfood cakes going for $28.

Ordered the Tradizionale Pizza with pepperoni and it was very mediocre. It was extremely greasy, very floppy, and little flavor. It tasted like one of those $1 dollar slice places. In my opinion it was not worth the price ($28). Maybe it was a one off but not what I was expecting.

We got to the store on a Sunday morning and grabbed a pre-ordered Bianca pizza with spinach and mushrooms. It was a very enjoyable pizza. The black-and-white cookie was superb for a pallet as well. The small batch of pesto sauce that we picked up was better than the one that I make it home.I plan to visit the store again and would recommend others to try some of the Italian favorites as well.
