The Corn Factory

A delicious Venezuelan lunch experience at The Corn Factory food truck in SW DC. I appreciate the friendly customer service. I was met with what felt like genuine care and regard for taking an accurate food order. I believe I encountered the owner who was very pleasant and if she was not the owner, then this person certainly bought into the expectation of good customer service. I wish more of the food truck management teams in the SW DC area provided similar care and customer service.Overall the food was absolutely delicious. The Carne Mechada Arepas was very delicious. I ordered it without cheese and it was still delicious. It was very hearty and the flavors were robust. The plantain on the arepas was cooked well, however I wish I had more on it. As an extra it comes with two pieces. The Pollo Mechado Pabellon was also delicious and similar to the arepas, I wish I had more plantain. I could eat these plantains by itself. I believe the plantain costs extra. Next time I might purchase two side orders of the plantain. The processing time from order placement to order fulfillment was relatively short during the lunch rush which I appreciate. I'll visit again soon and I'm hoping for consistency and I will update my review to a 5*. Give them a try.

The Corn Factory is absolutely delicious! I've been ordering the Carne Asada tacos and they have never disappointed. For only $11 dollars, you get restaurant quality tacos filled with flavorful beef, chopped onions, cilantro, and a spicy green salsa / lime on the side. I've also tried their Pollo Asado and it's just as tasty. Truly cannot stop raving about how delicious this is and am excited to try their Aprepas sometime soon.The service is speedy, accommodating, and so kind! Always love being greeted by their thoughtful staff. Their truck is clean and provides all napkins and cutlery at the front of the truck.If you see The Corn Factory around the District, it is most definitely worth a try!

100% gluten free food truck!! I get the chicken arepa with cheese every time, it's so good. Every time I visit DC with my family, we hunt down this food truck. The owner is super nice and even remembered my family's order!

Love their arepas. It was so good I forgot to take a picture! I recommend their shredded beef arepa - add cheese and plátanos. You can also top it off with black beans and avocado. The outside is nice and toasty and the inside is soft and filled with delicious ingredients. Great service! You're always welcomed with a smile. Definitely recommend this food truck. You won't be disappointed.

If you see this food truck, hungry or not, grab yourself a capacha. Sweet corn patty filled with a protein or cheese and you can add, black beans or plantains. Be sure to remember hot sauce! Seize the day.

This truck is fantastic. My wife is Venezuelan and we just stumbled upon it while actually walking to another cafe for breakfast. She ordered an arepa with shredded beef and cheese and I ordered a black bean and cheese arepa. Both were amazing. The arepa had a delicious grilled flavor and the fillings were also wonderful. My wife said there her meat was succulent while not being too messy at the same time. Highly recommended. We will be back.

OMG!!! This place is absolutely BOMB! The cachapas are freakin' AMAZING!!! Cachapas (Corn pancake sandwiches) are amazing. The arepas are fantastic, but the cachapas are on another level! They're addictive! I swing by here on a regular and try to tell as many people as I can about this spot. Definitely a must do food truck in DC!

My son and I are huge fans of arepas, so after a recent trip to the American History museum, we were excited to find The Corn Factory. What we didn't realize is that arepas can differ depending on region. The arepas we loved were from a Columbia restaurant at home, and The Corn Factory is Venezuelan. Didn't think perfection could be perfected, but these were amazing. So much so that the next day when we were sightseeing another area, we hoofed it in 95 degree it just to enjoy this food truck again. In all, we ordered arepas with shredded beef and cheese (one with plantains, very good addition!), cachepas with shredded chicken and cheese, and chicken tacos with cheese and avocado. The woman who ran the truck was also great. Very friendly and hard working.

Since covid, this is one of the only trucks I've seen near L'Enfant/the Mall that is unique, serves great food, and isn't one of the hundreds of generic trucks on/near the mall that service mediocre everything from hot dogs to boba teas.They have customizeable arepas, cachapas, tacos, and bowls. I usually get the more unique Venezuelan cachapa, and usually get things vegetarian (you can add black beans, avocado, and/or plantains to anything on the menu.)
