The Cakeroom

It was my birthday on Monday and I went searching in my neighborhood for some cupcakes or cakes to celebrate! I couldn't find any () - largely because some were closed due to President's Day, I think.I hopped on to delivery apps to try to see if I could order anything for delivery from other spots in DC and found this place! I am VERY glad I did. The cupcakes were delicioussssssss. I meant to eat the 6 I got over the course of this week but I will admit I ate all 6 in the past 2 days Got 6 different flavors and every one was great!

My mom sent these cupcakes for my birthday! The assorted dozen was incredible, with such a diverse range of flavors. They had all the classics like chocolate/chocolate, red velvet, cookies and cream, but also some fun ones like cookie butter and chocolate peanut butter. Cakeroom has equally decadent cake and frosting, which is hard to find. The frosting is rich and velvety, and the cake matches! The cake stayed moist over the several days I had it, which I was incredibly impressed by. Definitely will be asking my mom to order these again next year!!

I expected to feel bloated and disgusted with myself after eating the blueberry cheesecake. I was not. The cheesecake was so light but yet, so filling. The shop is absolutely adorable. I would recommend arriving earlier in the day for a better selection of options.

I usually order from uber eats or come and grab my usual 2 peanut butter cupcakes.. a brookie, and sometimes peanut butter cheese cake or cookie. Today I called in and asked did they have it before I ordered being I usually order early 1-3. But this was 5:20pm. He said I think so and hung up. Busy, no problem. So I ordered anyhow. It said at 5:25 it wouldn't be delivered until 7:30. It was held up at the store until 8. I'm thinking they must of been busy and had to make more. No problem. It's never usually this long. I didn't get the 2 Brownies and 2 Peanut butter cupcakes until 8:45. Which uber only taking 30 minutes to deliver. But man these brownies are rock hard like they were cooked yesterday. I usually order the brookie but I wanted to try the brownie. Big disappointment. I know it's cold but this hard. I ordered brownies and got hockey pucks.

YUMMY!!I ordered a Lemon Square and Peach Cobbler (June Cupcake of the Month), Lotus Biscoff, and Oreo cupcakes. The lemon square was more crust than lemon which I wasn't a fan of. The cupcakes had a nice texture and taste. The filled cupcakes ended up being to sweet for me so I ended up taking some of the icing off. The cupcakes are also priced fairly. Overall, great cupcakes I would recommend getting.

We got our nephews 2nd birthday cake here and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it at the party - kids and adults. They did such a wonderful job decorating it and it was ready right when they said it would be. It's a cute shop that also serves cupcakes, coffee, and slices of cake! Be mindful, the cakes are pricey - but worth it!

This is a cute bakery with a variety of cupcake options. I came one weekday morning and surprisingly they were out of many flavors. I decided to go with the lemon lavender, the cookie butter, the chocolate, vanilla, and the last peach cobbler. We wanted to try the rainbow cupcakes but it looked like a kid decorated them. The peach cobbler was unique and had our tongue tingling not sure what they used for the filling. We liked the basic vanilla with chocolate. The lemon lavender was strong on the lemon it over powered where you could not taste the lavender. They appear to have a reward system. Staff were friendly and noted it was a female owned company. I don't know if I will return when I come to the area but it was nice to try.

A nice little bakery in AdMo! I love the free cookie you get for checking in on Yelp. Their chocolate chip cookie was heavenly!Service was quick and kind. I love that they cut the cakes in front of you instead of having pre-sliced pieces ready to go. The cakes were tasty but a little underwhelming. I found all three cakes to be slightly stale, even though I ate them only a couple hours after purchase. The lotus cookie cheesecake similarly didn't quite do it for me. But they were all beautiful!

I have been visiting this bakery for 5+ years, they make the best cup cakes in the city in my opinion.

I've had great experiences with Cakeroom in the past, but today was a big miss. Ordered the wedding tasting (5 cake samples) and order was not ready and i was told I was too early for them to put it together (i was 10 minutes early and said I could wait). No real apology after the worker figured out they had my pickup time written down wrong, and was given 4 cupcakes and 1 piece of cake for my tasting. Not sure what the standard tasting size is, but I could have bought all 5 flavors in cupcakes and saved myself some money (3.50 a piece vs. 25 for the tasting). Will not be using them for my wedding no matter how great the cakes are, very disappointed.
