The Brig Beergarden

A frequent haunt over the past few years, especially during their happy hour (lasts until 7). Not the most expansive drink menu but it's solid, reliable, and decently priced. Big fan of the chicken tenders. In recent years they have added a good number of heaters and an enclosed-ish area, so it's a great spot no matter what weather. Dog-friendly, friendly staff. Ordering is done through a QR code.

It's unfortunate to have to leave this review because I like the concept and biergartens in general tend to be a great vibe. However, tonight I had one of the most condescending and disrespectful experiences of my life as a customer (no exaggeration) with the manager on duty (the GM was apparently out of the country, "several time zones away." I was there for an alumni Oktoberfest event, and I was socializing with them for a while before going up to the bar to order a beer. I checked in on Yelp and asked if I could redeem the 15% check-in offer, and I never could have predicted that simply trying to place an order with an offer that the business's active Yelp page is promoting would lead to being verbally harassed and yelled at condescendingly by the manager on duty, who was not aware of the Yelp check-in offer but offered no solutions Ans instead went the route of blaming the customer and taking her frustration (from something else perhaps?) out on me, an eager-to-order customer who didn't want any trouble, but was instead lectured rudely about how little I know about how the F&B industry works, despite having worked at a three-Michelin-starred restaurant, and very much being knowledgeable about the field. After being shouted at several times for no reason, I swallowed my pride and left, and I will certainly never return, which is a shame because this all could have been avoided by simply honoring the 15% off offer that The Brig had on their business page.

A group of friends and I went out for the first time since moving here. All of Old Town is popular on the weekend and just the right kind, not too packed. Same for inside the Brig! Seemed to have a good crowd mix of upper 20s, 30s, and some 40s. Our server was great. I changed up my second drink for the night per his recommendation and it was exactly what I was looking for. The Pear Martini tasted exactly like pear so I needed something less sweet. I believe it was a spritz cocktail of some sort. The group shared a pretzel, which was perfection. If you're wondering how many people can split it based on its size... I'd get 2 for our group of 5 men and 2 women. I have to call out the band though. Climb On was on set and they set the bar pretty high for our first night out in Alexandria. Amazing set list of rock/alternative and recent pop hits, and really pumped up the whole side of the restaurant. The Brig Beergarden knows what's up!

Family, dog and kid friendly. Great outdoor beer garden. Warren the GM is so accommodating and has really done some great things for this place. Prices are good and the food is good as well which you don't always get so I can appreciate it. A lot of TVs so perfect for game days!

I always have a great time here! Nice beer garden to watch all the sports! They have a lot of tvs, the food is great, the service is even better and it just feels so comfortable! Fans when it's hot, heaters and enclosures when it's cold, umbrellas t block the sun... or rain, tons of seating and great vibes! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I've been here numerous times but the last few times I've come before Nationals games. I like the QR ordering system; everything you order comes out quickly. One of the servers also brought out a water dish for my dog which was nice.For food, the happy hour wings and the large pretzel were so good! The pretzel bites however were burned so don't get those. I also got the chicken BLT with fries but there was no lettuce! And the fries were ultimately too salty.

Family-friendly bar restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating and TVs for game watching. I didn't try the food menu but stuck to my cider. Menu is via QR code scanning. Service is limited as far as I could tell.

Great place! Devon was awesome definitely looked out for me and party! Come by and bring your friends here!!! The location is very family oriented and they will take care of you respectfully. SHOUT TO DEVON!! You the man!

Good selection of beer, their own beer in particular. You can order and pay online, which is handy. it seems like there are just outdoor seats. You can get some discount if you register on their website and also for the first check-in on Yelp!

Fantastic place to come for a beer, conversation, watching sports and hanging out. Comfortable and casual outdoor seating. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4 or even 5 is because the menus are completely touchless, so the entire transaction or making a selection, scrolling through the menu and figuring out what's what, paying, ordering more items, it's all done by your cell phone. So the servers don't approach you initially like a traditional bar or restaurant. A person like me, I have questions so you're sort of on your own to figure things out. I would go back. Hanging out with friends and good company over beer is always a win-win.
