The Bottle Shop

Smallish shop but don't let that dissuade you because they keep a great selection. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. This is the place to go if you're looking for some quality without breaking the bank. We purchased a few bottles and came away impressed when the clerk wiped the bottles down down, individually wrapped them, and even added a small bit of cardboard to keep the from clanking.

The staff person I encountered was extremely rude. My boyfriend and I live nearby and, after dinner, walked in to see what they had. There was a man behind the counter who asked a couple of times if he could help us and we kept saying, "no, thank you were just looking around." After perusing the shop for about 10 minutes reading labels and talking about what we might buy the man asked us again. I finally said, "we're not looking for anything in particular, just thinking about what we want to have at home to make drinks". His reply? "Well I have a lot of duties that I can't do while you're here. You've been here for 10 minutes and I have things to do." Not only were his words rude, but his tone was dismissive and annoyed.I am seriously disappointed, especially since there were things that we were actually thinking of getting. I get that you're 25 minutes away from closing time on a Friday, but as someone who has worked in customer service, I would have been fired for saying something like that.

This shop is such a neighborhood gem! The folks that work here are super friendly and always are helpful in finding the right choice for your palate and budget. I've never bought a bottle here that I didn't enjoy. Wonderfully curated selection.

The Bottle Shop is my go to place for beer and wine. They always have great recommendations, and they don't just point to the top shelf. I've come away with great finds that didn't hurt my wallet. I plan to keep coming back here for awhile.

Great, welcoming and knowledgeable staff. We always love picking beer up there. The selection is interesting too. It's s corner shop with a very organized and well kept interior

I live in DuPont but I go out of my way to come to this store. Peter is so friendly and gives amazing recommendations; he really knows his stuff. It's great to support local businesses and I'll keep making the trip up 18th st for my wine and other spirits, but mostly wine :)

Great selection of wines and liquors. French, Italian, West Coast, East Coast. Found a great Bordeaux here, a superb Chianti, and a rich Montepulciano. Besides the usual liquors, they have a raw honey gin that is a bartenders dream. Luke 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

This is our favorite shop in the neighborhood! They have an excellent selection of high quality wine and alcohol, including organic wines. Support your local small business!

Great little shop with great friendly help behind the counter. They seem to specialize on the fancier end of things but I have still found a decent selection of less expensive items for when I'm just looking for a simple stock up. Whenever I have come looking for a nice bottle of scotch or gin for a gift, they have been super knowledgeable about everything they stock and happy to give recommendations within my price range.
