The Blaguard

Honestly one of the best sports bars I've been to in DC. Spent football Sunday with my girls at the Blaguard and we had a blast! The window was open and we sat in the booth and it was just gorgeous all around. Although I'm a saints fan, I had to cheer on the commanders this particular day. Note for the Blaguarita: try at your own risk!! It has tequila and cognac and you definitely only need one. I will say the food is basic bar food, nothing special but good! And service is quick which means A LOT for a sports bar. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back.

I hate to say this but these were the worst wings I've ever tasted. Being from Buffalo I was weaned on wings, I have never sent wings to the trash in my existence, but today was the day. That's not an overstatement, I have never sent back wings in my 36 years of existence. They were definitely precooked for speed, so hard and chewy, and fell off the bone in a bad way, like rocks being chipped off a cliff face. I didn't even know that could happen, it was a strange experience. That said the vibes inside were great and the staff were very friendly, light hearted, and accommodating. If the wings were even average the stars would be 5 it was just that. bad. I'm hoping it was a one time thing that a rogue wing connoisseur just caught them on a bad day. Google how to cook wings, you can be better in an instant.

Do you want to re-experience the college campus bar experience, full of super young bros in a divey/dumpy Irish bar setting? Then Blaguard is the spot for you. That's not necessarily a criticism because that was the vibe I was into for many years. And for a place serving a younger clientele, they have a solid draft beer list, and prices are good. Worth a try if you're nearby.

OMG so great. We were looking for a bar to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs and this place was a short uber away from Dupont Circle. We definitely hit the jackpot. Small, local bar with great wings and sports. They also had great music. Beer on draft, cocktails available as well. In addition to the wings, I had cheese curds, which were super fresh and delicious and the hubs got tots. I started with a nitro draft coffee. I love coffee on nitro and we were there around noonish.There is an upstairs but we didn't go up there as it was closed when we went in the afternoon. There's also a little bit of outside seating.I would definitely recommend this place!

Great little home in the wall for a draft beer or two. Happy hours prices are the bomb. Full pints from $3-$5, depending on the beer. Decent selection of mainstream and craft beer without being overwhelming.

If you come here, it is for the happy hour specials and their soft pretzels which are the bomb! They were lightly salted and pillowy soft, unlike other places that are rock hard. The service was not great. We shower up and asked to sit outside with our dog and sat in a "table" that was really this small firepit. It was dirty and had to ask TWICE to get it cleaned, and the bouncer did a terrible job trying to clean it. You have to order inside the bar and we did get our food in about 10 minutes. Aside from the pretzel, the rest of the food was really average but the wings were solid. They have about 10 craft beers on tap which is not common in DC. Based on their menu, it seems like a local divey kind of bar. Although the staff were really nice and prompt, I wasn't happy with that fake table and the miscommunication with the bouncer.

Great wings! It was a hot night and there wasn't much airflow in the bar- but overall a great experience!

Best happy hour in dc by far, nice hole in the wall vibe and bartenders are cool. Food is fire

New fav bar in DC. Wanted to watch the Dodgers game and they happily obliged (hard af to get a Dodger game in DC too IYKYK). Bartender was cool af (forgot his name but he said he is there Sundays) and made some new buddies talking bout Nascar and random stuff. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood!

Disappointing on St Patty's day 2024. I know was I It was a Sunday, but at least play something besides Guns N' Roses.
