Had dinner for the first time here. Reservations via Resy. Menu is via a QR code connected to Toast. It's a mix of Italian inspired options, wine bar style appetizers and steak options. We started with the Virginia Ham Croquettes and the Oishii Jumbo Garlic Shirimp. Both were super tasty and decent size but not too large. The mustard forward sauce with the croquettes was excellent. We shared the 10 oz Hanger Steak Frites. The steak was perfectly med rare as we asked with a nice char on the outside. It came with this amazing onion relish that was a like a French onion soup in flavor. The fries were good but there were too many of them. I'd like to see thicker cuts with skin on to elevate it a bit.Wine list while short is good. They have Justin's Isosceles, a favorite of ours from our recent tour of Paso Robles. Service was excellent. Thought the prices were a tad high and I wasn't a fan of the communal seating which is appropriate for a beer and burger joint but doesn't fit with this style of cuisine and a date night. Overall this is 3.5 rounded up to 4. They are new. Will be eager to monitor their progress.

Great concept and interesting food options. Not perfect but looking forward to coming back as they polish up.First thing to know is the seating is communal, so you may share a table with someone. This didn't seem to bother anyone and our family of 4 was able to be seated no problem.Next thing to know is that you order via the QR code at your table through toasttab. Not used to a place like this taking orders in this way, but it makes the process pretty quick. It adds a bit of a casual element which is nice. Know that you can ask for table water. We ordered bottled from the QR menu before realizing that. The servers and food runners will make their rounds but you'll probably need to flag them down. It wasn't clear if we had someone dedicated to our area so some minor requests for silverware and extra plates were delayed or missed and we had to remind them. Not a big deal but still feels like they're working out some kinks in the service model.Onto the food, which was pretty great. The shrimp and octopus apps were the best. The croquettes were tasty, but outshined by the other 2. The black cherry old fashioned was also tasty and I'll be ordering it again. The bartender followed up to see how the drinks were, which was a nice touch. The pear pasta and seafood risotto were both great. The special ribeye was just okay, and at $120 I don't think it's worth it. The sear is nice and they're doing something to make it crispy. However it was conconsistent in internal temp. At that price, and especially if it's not dry aged, I feel it must be perfect. I wouldn't recommend or order the ribeye again, but I hope to try the NY strip on my next visit. All in all Black Market has a ton of potential and interesting food/beverage options. Their unique ordering model could delivery very fast service, but they are still working to perfect it. Lastly, the prices are definitely on the high end, so be aware. I look forward to going back!

A MUST TRY!! In the beautiful heart of downtown Aldie, is Loudoun's newest restaurant. The Black Market has been in the works for quite some time, but is now OPEN! This establishment replaced the Aldie General Store. After only been open a few days, we went with an open mind knowing there might be a few kinks. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with smiles and quickly seated. Unlike your typical restaurant, you place your order at the counter and then sit at a communal table...the best part...you never know who you will meet! They also have outdoor seating when the weather is pleasant. The Black Cherry Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters and lemon drop martini were delicious. As they are still expanding their menu, we were extremely impressed with their menu offerings. We enjoyed the Virginia ham croquettes, three cheese plate and the best anchovies in the world! The pear gorgonzola ravioli and the spicy rigatoni with shrimp entrees were second to none.Chef Angel and his wife were wonderful hosts! We will definitely be back!!

Wound up here on a last minute whim (because Middleburg was so booked) and was pleasantly surprised. Most tables are communal so we had a fun impromptu conversation with diners seated across from us. And the food was really good! We all got pastas, I also got a Caesars salad which was creatively plated and the 'croutons' were sooooo good! Great wine and cocktails. We are definitely coming back here!

I was impressed with the decor, service, and food. Most of the seating is "family hall" style with large tables that have multiple parties share. We enjoyed the Prosciutto San Daniele, Virginia Ham Croquettes, Truffle Fries, and Veal Bolognese. Simply amazing and I would suggest that anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or who simply loves great food, should stop in.

Looked forward to a new restaurant in town. Tried it twice and was beyond disappointed. Service poor - missed food orders, entree delivered long after others. Menu limited and for the price, MEH. Seating mixed and not intimate. Odd use of QR code, which doesn't work when in WI-FI black zone. Owner drinking wine and busy chatting with staff and other "VIP" guests - ignored helping his staff meet needs of customers. Appears he wanted to bring a Miami vibe to this old country store. Done the correct way, it could have been a fun spot, but unfortunately it's missed the mark. Bentley parked out front should have a clear signal to stay away.

Outstanding in every sense of the word. I can't wait to return! Highly recommend the pear and Gorgonzola ravioli- it was so flavorful and delicate. Mussels also had great flavor and a substantial portion.

Six of us went there for dinner Saturday evening. The place was not busy. We were seated at a long table where other people were already seated. One of us asked if there were any other options for seating, and the waitress said, No, in the way a person would say, Take it or leave it. So we sat down. The menu was confusing. One of us asked the waitress where the entrees were, and she pointed to "Small plates." There was no steak listed--the person in our group who wanted a steak had to ask for one. I didn't see the waitress smile the whole time we were there. Five of us were served our meals, but no steak arrived. No explanation. We waited for about 20 minutes--our waitress was nowhere in sight. Finally we flagged down a young man, who checked and said the steak was almost ready. The food was OK, but not good enough to make up for the horrible service and high prices.

Overpriced "downtown" spot . Any place with a $5 coke is crazyyyy. Some menu prices are reasonable but there are plenty of other restaurants that are worth every penny. This was a one and done for me.
