Am I the only one who thought "The Big Stick" was a hotdog place?Anyway, last night, I was craving a hot dog so walked to The Big Stick (Navy Yard). Once I looked at the menu, I learned that it's *not* a hot dog place. They have burgers, sandwiches, beers on tap, etc. Ordered a burger that was perfectly acceptable (if a bit undercooked), accompanied by fries.Bartender made me a drink but never offered to refill it, so service is a bit spotty at the large bar.They offer trivia on Wednesday nights, if that's your thing. The trivia host seemed like a nice guy.Parking? It's Navy Yard...so don't expect to find parking anywhere!

We decided to switch it up for football Sunday and try out The Big Stick specifically for sports viewing. We have been here before for dinner, but never during a football game. They have ample TV's and ensure that all games are playing. I opted for the bottomless mimosas because who can go wrong with $14 bottomless, and the glass was large and never once did my glass go empty during the allotted time. We shared cheese curds and chicken wings and then got the chicken and waffles and Cuban sandwich for entrees. You really can't go wrong as everything is very fresh and flavorful. Definitely recommend, especially when looking for a place to watch sports.

The service here was not good. The bartender was more interested in his phone and friends at the end of the bar than our order. My boss asked about a HH sampler and the guy answered shortly and then walked away to get something from someone. The place was kinda cool and a good location. The food is typical bar food (see menu). I got the plain Mac n cheese ($10) because my boss wanted to finish his drink and eat, so I got that. The Mac n cheese was a bit small (see picture). I thought the Mac was not bad. Best part is that a jacket (with a gun in it) was left at the bar. Needless to say I will not be back ever and probably best to stay clear of here.

Came to watch the Nats game , sip some brewskis, and eat some delicious apps. The food was okay, but not amazing. Hit the spot with some beers though. I'd call the vibe more of a bar with sports versus a sports bar. Service was okay, nothing to write home about. Solid overall.

Foods decent, classic bar food. Cheaper than most places in the area so that gives it the 2 stars. Service is the worst part, I've waited 45 mins after ordering just together told they forgot to put my order in, bartenders taking shots and drinks as you're waiting to get attention. If they like you good experience if they don't or indifferent SOL.

The shorter bartender dark skin James has an attititude and is not very friendly at the BIG STICK. The prices are too high too. And the food sometimes gives you indigestion.

I've been here for brunch ($14 bottomless mimosas!) and have always had a great time. I most recently went on a busy Saturday night. Chevy greeted me at the bar right away with a big smile. She gave such incredible service. I was actually having a rough night and she turned it around with her kindness and attentiveness. A good bartender really makes a difference!! Thanks, Chevy!!

We have come here a few times after, or before, a National's baseball game, and I have mixed feelings. The first time it was great - the bartender was pleasant and very helpful in getting another annoying patron to leave us alone. When we came back a few days later the bartender remembered us, which was nice, but the service seemed to change. The bartender was paying a lot of attention to very specific people, and it was a struggle to order anything. They do have decent prices, and a good selection of drinks. Maybe coming by when they are busy isn't the best time for good service, but they are okay as a local sports bar goes.

Stopped in to grab lunch before flying out. Ordered their San Diego Fried Chicken with a side of fries and a strawberry lemonade. It was real good! The chix breast was cooked just right and not dry. Fries were nice and crispy the way I like them. Also, the music was poppin' with mixed rap and styles.
