The Angry Jerk

Wow the Angry Jerk is a place that I will definitely return to. I stopped by its Dupont Circle location today for a little lunch and I ordered a side of chow mein. This little side dish is Jam (short for Jamaican) packed with TONS of flavor!. It was so good, so filling and had just enough heat to make me sweat a little. Plus the server was very friendly.I can only hope the rest of the food is as darn good as the chow mein was.I will return to the Angry Jerk - you should too!

Don't Tell Anyone, But I Just Found the Best Food Deal Ever!I'm whispering this, but the owners of this location are basically giving away food at a great price! I stopped by with a colleague for lunch yesterday and we scored BIG TIME.We sat inside, chatted for over an hour, and devoured our massive Bowls. I mean, who needs a lunch and dinner budget when you can get both (and then some) for the price of one meal?The one bowl was a lot- it covered lunch, had leftovers for dinner, and still had enough remaining for me to take to lunch the next day, which I ate with an apple. The Angry Jerk (Dupont) just became my go-to lunch spot. And the best part? The customer service was fine - friendly, attentive, and zero drama.Don't tell the owners, but they're doing something very right! Please continue to be consistent!!

Stumbled on this location after getting my nails done. Here is my review in short. Ambiance: regular, most of the staff were in the back working and someone popped out to take my order after I moved up to the counter. Food: I ordered the jerk chicken bowl ($15) and with taxes it came to ($18.60) pricey! But, I received a large amount of food. The bowls come with the option of rice and peas, lo mein, or fried rice. I opted in for rice and peas (tasty, but a little wet) Being Caribbean when I say that the rice is wet, it means that it's mushy. We normally like our rice and peas grainy or dried well lol but I guess this works. It did still pack a lot of taste. The protein choice was jerk chicken which was diced and I was able to top it with jerk mambo sauce (very delicious) the jerk chicken was not spicy at all but perfectly seasoned and contained a good serving size. Additional toppings: Creamy coleslaw: blah Pineapple mango salsa: very delicious Plantain: very burnt Cabbage: disgusting Overall I enjoyed the bowl and would likely never order the rice, cabbage, coleslaw, nor plantain again. I would of course order the jerk chicken and would try it as a taco.

Food and service great. Music is arie. I'd return. There's much to try. Maybe tacos next time.

I heard about this restaurant on Instagram and been eager to try. Let's just say it wasn't worth the money or hype. I got the jerk shrimp and it wasn't jerked at all. Everything I got in my bowl was seasoned well but wasn't impressed. I don't need to go back. The service was good. The cashier was amazing and so sweet! It is clean inside.

Love it! Just get a bowl and you'll get great value for excellent food. Casual and no-frills chipotle style. I go a lot.

Excellent addition to DuPont Circle. The food is really good. I've had only bowls so far--curried chickpea, curried chicken, oxtail, and brown stew. Everything was EXCELLENT. Fresh, hot, nice portion size, perfectly seasoned. The sauces are yummy too. Next I'll try the jerk chicken, their signature dish. The place is clean and the people are nice. If you're in the area, don't miss it!

Wow! The food was AMAZING! Huge portions at a great price! Chef Beano did not disappoint! It was FULL of flavor and tender. This place is a gem. I will be returning when I come back to DC!

Food is no where near as good as the Silver Spring location. The chicken had no flavor and I received little proportions. Everything overall needs to improve.
