This place closed and reopened recently and I've been pretty excited to try it, as it was previously one of my favorite spots to get drunken noodles. Came here with some friends. Very easy to find but parking is a bit scarce. The staff are all just as friendly as before and the interior is spacious and modern. The food did not disappoint and was excellent. The drunken noodles, dumplings, and the pineapple fried rice were all great.

BEST Thai food i've had in the area. They relocated to a new spot in Alexandria. Dining room has full floor to ceiling windows, comfy seats, and lots of space! Great for date night, family dinner, and large parties! There was also a lot of take out! Service was quick and friendly. Pork belly was crispy and not greasy. Coconut ice cream was fresh. Fried rice is so flavorful. After dining in I went back for take out a week later and everyone was raving about it!

Stopped by for dinner today, while it was freezing outside. I think the place is new, but the decor was very nice and inviting. Clean bathrooms and perfect lighting. Seating is comfortable. Service was great too - our servers were attentive and very sweet. We shared the tom yum soup with chicken and while the primary flavor was tangy, it was very good, just a bit one note. Ragz totally loved it. I had the drunken noodles - nicely made and not spicy. I could taste the wok sear on my chicken, which I appreciated. The dish was cooked well with good proportions of meat to noodles to veggies. Ragz got the Pad Pra Grao ( chicken in garlic sauce) and really enjoyed it too. Well cooked, great proportions etc. Overall enjoyable food and also reasonable. I'd be happy to come back.

Stopped by for a quick late lunch before football. The atmosphere was nice with pleasant background music and a full bar. Our server was very courteous, adding to the overall experience.Thanida soon have their grand opening, so we were excited to sample their food. The iced tea was excellent, and we tried the dumplings and Tom Yum soup--both were amazing. For the entrée, we had the vegetable drunken noodles. The spice level was perfect, and we absolutely loved the dish. We'll definitely be back to try the whole fish!

A friend and I wanted to eat near old town on rainy Thursday. We came across Thanida which had a cute patio outdoor seating which I may have taken advantage of had it not been so rainy. It was happy hour, and I enjoyed their options of apps and drinks on the happy hour menu. We started w chicken wings and crab rangoons. I don't like crab rangoons so I won't comment on them, they tasted like they should. The wings were not very good. I expect crispy wings and these were very soggy, and maybe lightly dusted w flour for some crunch but the actual skin was soggy and chewy. Next, my friend's pad Thai looked good but it was made with very thin rice noodles which wouldn't have been my preference.. I like a thicler flat rice noodle. I got the Tom yum soup, which I took a chance on cause I had never had it. It was okay, chicken sausage was a bit dry but otherwise it was warming for a cold rainy day and what I needed. If I'm ever near again I'd come back and try some different menu items.

It's back! This Thai place used to be at the Montgomery Center in old town. It closed to relocate to more of Potomac yard/ north Del Rey near Braddock Metro. They are currently in their soft opening this week with a grand opening set for Oct 1st. If you can make it Oct 1, do it. It is the exact same. My previous review said it's the best Thai in the area. That stands to the test in the new place. Given this place was closed during renovation and relocation. It is amazing that this family owned business is back and gearing up for customers. It is upscale now. Amazing food and service. 6 stars if I could. Parking is a bit rough. There is a parking area south and across from the extra storage place. Worth the trip in every way.If epic and effort had a taste, this is it for Thai food.

An American success story! So a couple of decades ago,my wife and I met Yui and Num, working as servers at a Thai favorite, Thai Royal. Fast forward, over time they opened a Thai restaurant on Royal Street. It was a hit! Hundreds of clients loved it and Thanida (the name of the restaurant) built a giant community of folks who made their restaurant their place their go-to for delicious, nutritious, and high quality Thai food. Always warm, welcoming, and delicious! While the couple built their business, Yui went to college and became a pediatric intensive care nurse. And kept the books on the restaurant. And raised three beautiful, charming, and smart children! An amazing family! And now they have opened a luxurious new restaurant on N. Fayette St. Thanida Thai Restaurant and Bar. A gorgeous venue, with space for functions and celebrations, is an amazing place. The cuislne is absolutely lovely, the staff warm and welcoming, and the restaurant is lovely and high-end. While the old Thanida Thai was super, this new place is an order of magnitude more luxurious while remembering the roots of their well loved meals. We wish them the very best continued success and offer you the chance to join their circle of friends and clients!Mike & Kristi
