We tend to like Thai food and have enjoyed it at many fine establishments in the Baltimore-Washington area. We think we are picky. When he happened upon Thai Tanium by accident one weekday for lunch, we expected to be satisfied but not wowed. Kentlands has many intriguing food choices, and being a mall of sorts, we knew to temper our expectations. The Kentlands restaurant we thought we wanted to visit had outdoor seating only on a day too chilly for that to ne enjoyable. We spotted Thai Tanium and made a spur-of-the-moment decision to visit. We could not have been more happy with the selection, food or service at Thai Tanium. The Volcano Crispy Chicken was one of the best Thai entrees we have had anywhere in recent memory. Prices are fair given the location and parking was convenient enough. While Kentlands is loaded wirth foodie destinations, we'd certainly come back to Thai Tanium!

This Thai spot was a nice find! We went on a Saturday night, and it wasn't too crowded. The vibe was super chill. The lemon martini was a little too sweet for me, but the service was quick and good. The spring rolls, pad Thai and crispy chicken really stood out!

I've been here several times and the food is very good. I enjoy their curry. It's not too spicy and the place is a little dark, but it was really nice. The service is terrific and I enjoyed it. I'll be back several times over.

Got takeout thru DD and had a good experience. Ordered pork red curry, spicy crispy chicken, and mango sticky rice. Would be nice to specify how much heat on the app b/c it wasn't spicy enough. The curry had really good flavor, as did the chicken; although the chicken was kinda soggy by the time I got it. Portion sizes were kinda small, but consistent with other Thai places. Dessert was also kinda small, not enough to share IMO, but then again, I'm a glutton. Would definitely order from here again and hope to try other menu items.

Haven't had much Thai food in the Gaithersburg area, but I have had the pleasure of visiting Thai Tanium a few times with some other MoCo friends. Absolutely love the name of the restaurant, and it's in a good location near the Kentlands neighborhoods with easy to find parking around the corner. For food, this visit I had the Crab Rangoons and the Panang Curry with Chicken. The crab rangoons were tasty, crispy texture with a nice creamy filling on the inside, but there was a lot of residual oil on the rangoons, so each bite was a bit greasy. Perhaps they just didn't strain it long enough after frying and before plating, but not a huge deal. The panang curry was delicious and very flavorful, the amazing flavors of the coconut milk mixed with the spices and the meat, is a fantastic combo with some white rice. Portions for the curry are pretty good too, enough that we had to get some leftovers to go, which is always nice for the next day!

We ordered takeout from Thai Tanium and I can say Thai never disappoints! The chicken satay was delicious, shoutout to the peanut sauce! We got two chicken dishes that were also very good! The flavors were there and very on par! The mango sticky rice was also good, the mango was a bit soft though.Overall a great option if youre in the mood for quick thai food!

Order the Phad Thia and a side of Bikini shrimps. The Pad Thai is a little bland, and I was surprised that they didn't ask the level of spiciness I wanted, but the bikini shrimps were delicious, good-sized shrimps as well. My option tonight was take-out instead of dining in, which there are plenting of seating inside. Hiwever, they do get a lot of take out orders thru Doordash and Uber Eats deliveries, and their service is fairly quick.Since this was my first time ordering takeout, I'd like to have the dine in experience and explore other menu options because this is one of the most popular Thia restaurants in this neighborhood.

This restaurant is one of my favorites. We were there for Mother's Day weekend and they had a special for $30. You could get an appetizer and entrée and dessert but the dessert were these fried bananas that were not good. The restaurant was pretty busy and our waitress was nice. we ordered a lot of fun things from fried tofu triangles to satay chicken to papaya salad. I will say the papaya salad was pretty spicy and no one could eat it at the table. I did send it back and received the chicken satay which was excellent. I also ordered the fried tofu pad Thai and fried tofu with string beans. both were really good. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five was, the papaya salad being too spicy and not seeing our waitress for most of the dinner and having to get someone else to help us.

Honestly this place is a good old standby for quality Thai food. They have all the favorites but they also have specials regularly like soft shell crab, crispy pork belly and sometimes whole fish. Typical Asian food service which is not what you go there for but friendly and prompt enough. Our friends are gluten free and it's their favorite. Full bar too so that's always a plus and you can add Boba to the Thai ice tea! PS never skip the mango sticky rice...
