Tatte Bakery & Cafe

I'm a sucker for good cafe and Tatte is one of those places that has varieties of items from healthy breakfast/lunch, great specialty coffee or if you choose to indulge in sweet.. lol. Guilty for always having all 3! Oh and they serve brunch all Fri-Sun! This location was conveniently located off Farragut West station, so every time I'm in the area, had to make time for pit stop :)Service has always been awesome every single time: including when I blanked out of what to order.. lol and I'd get "no worries take your time" with a smile. If you order in, given a number and grab your seat, food delivered in no time. If you order coffee to go though, you'd pick up on the back counter where they make their espresso drinks. Plenty of seatings, indoor including bar area and outdoor seatings. Been here both late morning and mid afternoon, less crowded during mid day definitely and easily becoming my go to spot in the area.

This review is based off of their drinks! Stopped by Tatte for a quick drink and got a matcha. Needed an afternoon boost. While I didn't get to try their food this time, I really enjoyed the ambiance--it's bright, inviting, and has plenty of seating. I also loved the layout, with dedicated spaces for bakery items, drinks, and food. You order at the counter, and the service was great.As for the matcha, it was well-incorporated with a smooth, earthy flavor. It wasn't too sweet, and the milk didn't overpower the matcha, which I appreciated.I'll definitely be back to try the food next time.

I am extremely displeased with the service I received by way of an employee named Victoria. She presented herself so polite, but as soon as she was asked to perform a task outside of her comfort zone, she became condescending and sarcastic. I patronize quite a few tatte locations, but this is the first time I encountered someone so rude and non accommodating. When you deal with the public while representing a company, you have to be more poised than that. I won't be patronizing this location while individuals like this are working there.

Needed a quick bite on the way into town and this location is very conveniently located right near the Metro station entrance.Fast casual style restaurant and a spot brimming with energy. We ordered an avocado salad and a short rib grilled cheese to share. Seating can be a challenge during busier (meal) times, but the tables turned pretty fast so our wait was not terribly long. Both meal items were tasty and cooked as expected.Plenty of locations around the city to choose from, would come here again when looking for an alternative to the same old fast casual options.

Tattes are classics in DC and Boston. This location fills up during lunch and I struggled to find a spot to sit with two friends. It took 25 minutes for a table to open up. Service is very quick, but they clearly struggle to keep up with cleaning; the bathroom was a mess and the tables that were free outside had plates and crumbs sitting on them for quite a while after people left. Lunch items are delicious, especially the Shakshuka. Skip the London Fog drink. Entirely too sweet.

Chains I usually avoid in favor of supporting local bakeries and businesses. Tatte is a Boston-born brand that has taken over Washington, D.C. However, Tatte does make great food, pastries, and coffee. My go-to is the halva latte and halva chocolate chunk cookies. This location looks like the rest with plenty of seating.

Must-see, do, and drink when in DC! It's like falling into a baked good bliss. They also have brunch but honestly, I had my fair share of croissants, tea cakes, and brownies that I couldn't try anything else. I love that they incorporate halva into so many of their baked goods. The house latte is great and puts me in an autumnal tizzy. I love cardamom in my coffee but the halva is an extra treat. Next time I'll come back for the bread. Service was top notch and they were too kind (and patient with all my questions). Lots of seating but it can fill up fast especially on the weekend with families. Great location with the Washington monuments and White House not too far if you want to go for a stroll after :)

Yes, it is a chain. However it is soooo good!Sure a little pricey, but worth the cost. More of a cafe vibe, but pleasantly so. I ordered food to go one time and ate here at a different day at one of the petite round white marble tables. To go orders are served in a box of delicacies. Yum.

The food here is really good. I got the chickpea and fava plate and it came with pita bread, which was fluffy and super delicious. Some of the best pita I've had. There was some chili oil in the chickpeas that made it quite tasty. 10/10 would order again. It was $12, and the portion was smallish, so I'd maybe get a pastry with it next time.There is quite a lot of indoor seating so you can probably find a place to sit as long as it's not a super busy time. It's got a generally busy atmosphere though. Otherwise there is outdoor seating as well as a park across the street with benches.

A phenomenal place for a bite to eat. The food is all incredibly solid, the pastries are delicious and warmed upon request, and the beverages are delectable as well. The only problem is that this quality is common knowledge, and it can be quite crowded. I would not recommend dining in during peak hours.
