A favorite go to breakfast spot. It's always jumping here... Especially on the weekends so be prepared to defend yourself. It can get very loud but some folks enjoy working here. The service is fast, and they'll usually have you in and out even on their busiest mornings The pastries are absolutely delicious any breakfast dish is a great choice. I highly recommend the avocado toast & the croissant breakfast sandwich with smoked salmon. The fava & chickpea dish and the winter farro bowls are an incredible mastery of flavor, depth, and balance - they remind me of North African & Lebanese cuisine, hints of cardamom, dukkah, and coriander! I love the way they do their eggs to order & I always be ready for work our adventure when I have this instead of just a pastry and coffee! more than just a bakery!

First place we visited to get coffee and did not disappoint! The pistachio latte is delicious and definitely worth a try, don't be surprised if you find bits of pistachios in it haha.Generally, there's plenty of seating, it's just a matter of finding one whenever it gets busy.The staff are super friendly and I already can't wait to try more things on their menu!

This was a gorgeous cafe with many coffee and baked goods options. I got a cortado which was great, and shared some baked goods with friends- a jelly donut, a flourless brownie, and an espresso mousse. The donut was to die for, the brownie chocolatey and fudgey, and the mousse so smooth and silky. I'd get each of these items again in a heartbeat. Please be aware though- this cafe most definitely has DC prices.

A must stop when in DC! This Tatte location was just down the street from my hotel so I made it my mission to stop in as often as I could during the week I was in the city. The restaurant itself is so spacious and gorgeous with counter seating along the back wall, bar style seating by the coffee area, and many tables and chairs throughout. Despite being packed, the line moves quickly and all the servers are efficient in getting orders in and cranked out. I had their breakfast platter with the beef sausage patties and thought it was a tad on the saltier side but delicious nonetheless. What really shines here is their extensive pastry case of every assortment of flaky, savory, or sweet goodness you can think of. The pistachio croissant, brownie, and tiramisu were all standouts to me as was their original Tatte latte. If you're a fan of cardamom you'll love that. With so many scrumptious options, the only negative about this place is figuring out where to start first. It's perfect to start your day or a midday pick me up. Excited to be back in DC to have this again!

Ugh I LOVE Tattes! The quality is soooo good and this one is no exception. Their pastries are delicious; I hope I can try every one someday. Their seasonal lattes always hit the spot and it's an excellent spot to sit down with a colleague or friend and slow down. It gets a little loud during the lunch hour, but you can always select a table outside if you are worried about that.

I was in Washington, D.C. the past Sunday through Wednesday. While in D.C. I went out to try different dining, bakery, lunch, and breakfast options. For this week's module, I see that gluten free is included and this is perfect for the lovely powdered sugar doughnut that was gluten free I purchased as well as a chai latte. The doughnut itself was pretty good, it was thick and chewy and just the right amount of sweet level. And the chai latte was pretty bland, so it balanced the flavors pretty well. I realize this option is not in Birmingham, Alabama however if you ever find yourself in Washington, D.C. I hope you add this to your list! Tatte itself is pretty busy, we had to sit outside, but the weather was nice so I am not complaining. Service was quick and fast, the doughnut was near $5, same with the chai latte, so I would say it is on the higher end here at Tatte.
