My 12 yr old and I went out for dinner at the mall. Had to go shopping for some items. Do we usually get our regular go to places like Panda Express or Hibachi? Nah, let's try something different. We went up to the food court in the AMC/TGI Friday's level and surveyes the scene. We stopped at Taste of India. When my son was younger, he despised Indian food. I always told him it was good. But he would never listen. As we mulled it over, the server/manager asked my son if he wanted to taste a sample. He said okay. He was offered Butter Chicken. He said it was really good and tasty. He was shocked. We said we would talk it over after walking around the other stalls. We came back. My boy really liked the Butter Chicken. So we got the 2 entrees with basmati rice. The boy asked for double Butter chicken. As you can see in my pictures, the Butter chicken was very saucy, full of flavor. You could taste the spices, the buttery smooth sauce of cream & tomato. I had a few bites but he devoured it. He wanted to show the guy at Taste of India he loved the food. He came back with a to go portion of Butter Chicken! The guy have it to him for free cause he said it was rare to have a kid (non-Indian) would really appreciated good taste in food. My son shook his hand and thanked him. (I wasn't there, I was cleaning our table and this was per my son). It's refreshing to see a vendor really appreciate a customer who really appreciated their food. This left an even better taste in our mouth and "Taste of India" will be a go too place at the mall from now on. Next time, I will have to order TIkka Masala or Biryani or a curry for my son to try to see if he enjoys it as well. I do wish they had fresh garlic naan but I didn't see an option. I should have asked. Anyway, GREAT food and GREAT service!

Don't come here for Indian food especially when there are so many other food options at the Tyson's Mall food court. The curries were cold and bland. They had no flavor to them. The rice was also cold and looked old. We added garlic naan on the side but it was so expensive for one piece of microwaved naan. All in all, I would not come here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The other food stalls at the food court are much better.

One of the worst food, I've ever had. The naan used were frozen and stale, and not fresh. The spices in the curry were raw and giving it a very funky flavor. Overall, the worst Indian flavor food in the DMV area. I would have given 0 star, if possible. Don't even dare to try.

Really pleasantly surprised by this spot. En route to a concert a Merriweather pavilion, this place had loads of great vegan options, all clearly marked, all surprisingly delicious. But somehow, the thing to not miss here was the Bombay Mule, an alcoholic drink. The mule cup was a bit too big for the drink portion...but once you look past that it's a treat. Highly recommend!

This was delicious. I stopped past here after returning some holiday items and seeing a movie. The employee was so nice to me. I requested about 3 samples and he did not bat an eye. He just gave me the samples. He had no questions and the samples were generous too. Anyway I enjoyed both the Butter Chicken, Chicken Marsala, but ended up going with the Butter chicken. I got the 1 meat combo and that comes with rice, and 1 side. The drink was separate and kinda high for a can of soda. The bottled water was cheaper. The side options were mixed veggies and chickpeas. So standard but I didn't love either of them. I also got the warm garlic naan and that was tasty. Overall, I'd come back.

Taste of "water" is more like it. We seldom give out bad reviews but let's face it... that's what this app is for, to find or avoid food. Conveniently located in the food court, coupled with outstanding service with a smile. However, the chicken tikka masala was just pink chicken floating in watery oily broth. Probably the worst Indian food I've ever had.

Easily the most bland Indian food I've ever had. No salt or butter in butter chicken and the chickpeas were extremely undercooked.Unfortunate.

Horrible. Never again. Bland. Overpriced. It's been a while since I've been to Tyson's Corner Mall, so it was nice to see Indian food. I've tried a few dishes from other restaurants before, but this was the worst. I should have read the reviews before coming here. I got the beef combo that comes with rice and chickpeas. The beef was a little dry, but it was bland. There was a spice, but not much flavor. The chickpeas were undercooked, hard, and also bland. If there's a set price for the combo, then the plate should be nicely filled. Mine was skimped with the meat. The only thing I like about the place is the simple menu. The cashier was nice...but I cannot come back here again.

food was watery, tasteless, too expensive at $12.99. Spinach dish was watery with no flavor, only 4 small pieces of tough lamb. I love good Indian food but this was the absolute worst. I was ill after 2 hours of eating it, I can't believe they had the audacity of asking for a tip when it was food court service. In other words NO SERVICE! Don't waste your money here. You will probably get ill also.
