Incredible and authentic tacos from a taco truck in downtown Bethesda. Everything is delicious and can't go wrong here! Highlights include squash blossom tacos and fish tacos and freshly made juices. It's very popular at lunch time so the food can take longer to be ready. Service is great. There is a park kitty corner to the market area with picnic tables and a big public parking lot. Highly recommended!

Came to Taqueria El Jalapeno for lunch on a Thursday while in Bethesda for work. A few folks were already enjoying their food on the few seats around the food truck. It was a beautiful early Spring day so eating outside was the obvious choice.Ordering was easy and, after a bit of a wait, they called my number. I had ordered the Mexican hot dog and chips and queso. Everything was ok but not great. The hot dog was stored in a to go box that, when placed in the standard plastic take-out box, tipped over. The dog lost most of its toppings. Disappointing. Speaking of toppings, the online menu lists this hot dog as being topped with pico de gallo, avocado, and ketchup. The dog I was served also had mustard and mayo. Which was...ok, just surprising. The chips were warm and seemed fresh. Two extra types of salsa came with the chips and the queso. The queso just seemed like standard yellow nacho cheese with cilantro and diced onion sprinkled on top. I couldn't tell that it was homemade or distinct to this place. Not bad of course, but just kinda standard. Taqueria El Jalapeno was ok but I might try another place next time I'm in the area.

This was such a treat!!Stopped by for lunch after seeing the food cart and I'm so glad I did. This business has been operating in their location for 4 years now. They hail from Mexico and serve authentic meals that are both delicious and healthy!Quality of ingredients is something the owner values and you see this in everything they do from the consommé to the tortillas (he uses his recipe and has a local make them for his use fresh every week).I got the tacos: lamb barbacoa, lengua and carne Asada as well as a barbacoa quesadilla. Speaking to the owner, he shared some of his favorite menu items: the Al pastor taco, carne Asada platter (feeds 2), barbacoa and the torta cubana.Everything we got was excellent! I should also mention they have some amazing salsas to pair with the tacos! There is outdoor seating covered with a tent which is right in front of the cart so you can enjoy your meal with friends. Truly, a gem!

This is a really solid taco place and one of the few places to get actual street tacos in the area without going far into Rockville or Silver Spring. They are very friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. I've ordered tacos here probably four times and I like the chicken tinga best. Their fresh juices are also huge and really good. Chips are good and the regular salsa usual has nice spice. Sometimes the food is a little inconsistent, but for the most part it is really good and way better than going to some of the hyped up store front options in the neighborhood.

Taco meat was not fresh and a weird color... My order was clearly sitting around for awhile before it's pickup time. The guac was so salty it was inedible. I had to throw everything out. :(

Stopped by this food truck for a quick bite and I am sure glad I did! The staff was very friendly and have good recommendations and explanations of the food. I ended up going with the chicken taco and the al pastor taco. It came on double corn tortilla shells, cilantro and onion with a lime and radishes on the side. Also, it had two hot sauces on the side as well. I LOVED the al pastor, so juicy and had a great amount of heat. The chicken was tasty but a tad dry, although I just squeezed extra lime on it and it moistened right up. Super happy with these choices. My friend got the carnitas quesadilla. I was also impressed with this (came with sour cream, pico and lettuce). The meat was tender and juicy and was a delicious bite with the hot sauce. I will definitely be back when I am in the mood for some good Mexican food... eager to try some nachos next time!!

Located in the heart of Bethesda and the food is Fresh! It is seasoned lightly and not too greasy or salty for the birria tacos and broth. Light and powerful flavor and great for the price. Salsa was nice as well and they also have daily deals. Great for a pit stop since the service is fast and there's a tent outside as well to eat at.

Love their tacos! The tortillas are the best part- the texture and the taste is great and the fillings are generous.

Good service and a good price. There isn't a ton of Tex-mex food in DC but this place is local and affordable for people in Bethesda
