I ordered the smoked wings and was told they took 20 minutes to fix...was surprised since they didn't smell like they were smoked in house and $16 for 6 wing pieces is steep.

A place where you can get a beer, shot, and a lottery ticket, who is not trying this place out? We came here on a Friday afternoon and the place had a great vibe and the staff was friendly. They have a nice menu for drinks so if you are in the area it is definitely worth checking out.

Some of the best wings I've had in a while! Sat at the bar for a quick pick bite. I remember coming to TallBoy when it first opened and the vibes were still the same. Great bar food, diverse crowd. Our bartender was friendly and attentive. All was well until I heard a scream a few seats down from me. I looked down and saw a huge roach scurry across the floor. I have the biggest bug phobia so I was pretty done after that! It's going to take me a while to recover from that

I have been here before the time of this review and I remember the wings being really good. I also really enjoyed the burger. I was out the other night and wanted some guaranteed good wings, so I hopped on the train from U street to come to Tallboy. Service: I arrived at 11pm, and they close at 12am. Upon sitting down, I was greeted, and I asked if I could still get food. I was given an unsure "yes." I asked if it would be easier if I ordered food to go, but the bartender said that I had time to eat there. His service was decent, no fluff. 7/10.Ambiance: This place has a chill kinda divey bar vibe that is inviting to me. They have outdoor seating which is nice during the day (I sat outside the first time I came here) 9/10Drinks: They have a huge selection of beers which I loved. I ordered the Hefeweizen (Triple Crossing Dagwood) and it was delicious. 10/10Food: This time the wings were mid. The flavor of the sauces on the wings were still really good. I had the honey sriracha and the garlic buffalo. The wings themselves were on the dryer side. The blue cheese dressing is prepackaged blue cheese dressing, so it's not as good as fresh made, but decent. The fries are very good. They are about the size of McDonalds fries. I ate them all. 6.5/10.Value: I found the food to be very expensive for what i received. I paid $14 for 6 wings. That's over $2 per wing. The French fries, though good, cost $6. The beer was $10 which is standard pricing in my opinion. With a 20% tip, I paid in total $39 for 6 wings, a side of fries, and 1 beer. 4/10Other: You get a pager when you order, and when that pager goes off, you must get up and retrieve your own food from the window. Also, when I ordered I was asked if I wanted to keep my tab open or close it out. I decided to close it out. At that point I was charged for my entire meal including tip before I even received my drink. That was a bit strange. 5/10Overall: 7/10, according to my calculations. I have rounded up as are out of 5. I was very satisfied by the food the first time, but this time was underwhelming. I may need to return one more time to decide if this will be a go to spot for wings for me.

Stopped in for trivia and food/drinks. Bartender and beer were great, however, the wings were some of the worse I've ever had, especially for the price. They have potential, but they were severely overcooked and dry...even the buffalo sauce & blue cheese couldn't save them. Additionally, I believe he was the manager, gave me a hard time because I asked for the extra cup of blue cheese I paid for and didn't receive. Weird thing to get fussy with a customer about.

These Honey Sriracha wings...let me tell you...SO GOOD. I would have never guessed that the sweetness of the honey mixed with the spicy savoriness of the sriracha would work well together, but it for sure does! I truly appreciated how much sauce came on the wings! Great place to grab a beer and eat some good bar food after a long day at work!

Came in during a long walk home for a quick snack, a beer, and to charge my phone. The beer was good, the wings were fantastic (best bone-in I've had in years), the service was the perfect balance of giving me space and chatting it up. Wings are actually spicy which is awesome. Not a date place, but a great "neighborhood vibe" spot for sure!
