Tabard Inn is possibly the cutest hotel I've ever stepped foot in. It's the oldest continuously operating inn in DC.All of the furniture is thoughtfully selected, reminded me a little of Mallorca, with antique European sensibility. The shrimp and grits were unbelievably good. I would eat grits there every day if I could. I also loved the scones and preserves. Even the plates and table mats played into its identity. The service was really attentive, not overly present which I appreciated as I was there on business. I was so glad to stumble upon such a lovely find. Hopefully there is another 100 years in their future.

Came for brunch on a Monday around 1. Food was great, service was not. Our server barely checked on us and took forever to even take our order. When she first came by, I told her we were ready to order, and she just nodded and walked away. She didn't return until 20 minutes later, and she was nowhere to be seen during that time so I couldn't even flag her down. The rest of the servers seemed on top of things, so maybe we just got unlucky, but this was some of the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant.

Tabard Inn is the perfect date night spot and the ambience is top tier DC. Cozy and historic with live music playing certain nights of the week, the setting is as epic as the food. I view Tabard Inn as a go-to for comfort food and appreciate the variety on their menu. Some favorites on the menu were their autumn soup, the crab fritters and beef carpaccio. The duck was great and had Asian inspired flavors which was a fun surprise. Both of their mocktail options were wonderful and thoughtfully curated. My husband and I both agreed that a surprising delight was the mushroom butter served with the bread- we could have taken an entire carton of this home for later! Service, experience and flavors all were a home run for us.

Came here for a church event. Heard about this place but didn't know what to expect. The inside of this hotel/restaurant is very chic. It gives a modern flair to but also has some many antique pieces. The patio area was very comfy and relaxing. For drinks red and white wine was served. I am a bit of a wine connoisseur so the selections here are nothing to write home about but it did the trick. For food, I got the deviled eggs and mushroom beignets as an appetizer. The deviled head were gross, don't recommend. No seasoning, flavor or anything. It was an attempt to make fancy eggs and they failed. The mushroom beignets were amazing!! Even if you hate mushrooms I recommend you order. They weren't over powering or anything. The hanger steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. The star of the show was the chimichurri on the side!!! Wow some of the best chimichurri I've had. Lastly dessert. Opted for the rhubarb, chocolate tart. Very good. Balance of tart and sweet. 9.5/10 for me. The service was amazing!!! We had private room and the staff was on top of everything. I forgot the 3 individuals names but they were exceptional.

I've dined at Tabard Inn Restaurant a few times for weekend brunch. The restaurant is located in a historic inn, which is infused with old world charm. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are greeted with smiles. Everyone is eager to assist. The quality of the food varies unfortunately. The first time we ate there, everything from the donuts to the salmon egg scramble was delicious. The eggs were fluffy and not overcooked. The second time we ate there, we ordered the same things we tried the first time thinking...why part with perfection? However, the eggs were overcooked and lacked the flavor that made it hard to stop eating the first time. The donuts however, remained a favorite. Fresh and hot, piled high with sugar and cinnamon. I'd definitely continue to go back here for the historical ambiance and the donuts.

Great ambience and artwork. Hanger steak was great, didn't like the mini eggplant things.Duck confit was to die for said my partner. Cool hangout. Former tea room makes it cooler. I loved sitting at the bar the next night. Bartenders are dope!

This was a delightful and cozy place, with groaning wooden floor, metal framed oil paintings, dimly-lit medieval tavern vibes. I only wish I had gone here for a drink with friends instead of a laid-back breakfast! The food was great: the omelette was creamy and fluffy, and the house-made potato chips were so unlike anything I've had before. Sugary doughnuts with cream cheese for $2 each; a jug (not just one cup!) of black coffee for $4... everything here was really reasonably priced, too. Finally, the service was quick and polite: I went on a weekday morning, so it was probably really easy to nail the service, but I felt taken care of all the same.

Wow, if I lived in DC, I'd be here all the time! Such a charming restaurant with a very beautiful waiting area. The staff here are so great! And the food is simply impeccable! Their complimentary bread and butter is out of this world. All of our entrees were delicious. We also ended with a digestif which tasted amazing. Would 100% come back!
